Chapter 25

The group ended up leaving the sport carnival early and retrieved back to their territory in the ally. Simultaneously, Hyemin and Yoona stayed at the carnival and participated in most events. For the girls they had fun and wished they attended previous sports carnival, but their request cannot be granted as they are expected to graduate at the end of the school year.  Throughout the day Hyemin and Yoona hanged around Luhan and his friend D.O, which they found that the two boys were very fun to hang out with.

During the 20 minute break for lunch Luhan and Hyemin went to the cafeteria to buy snacks for lunch leaving Yoona and D.O at the grandstands. It was awkward to stand alone for the two as D.O has different perspective on Yoona. Yoona too found being left behind with D.O awkward because never in her life has she spoke to the innocent looking boy. To leave the awkwardness between the two, D.O decided to start small talk with Yoona. "You are actually really good at sports" D.O complimented the girl. 

"Thank you" Yoona thanked with a soft voice that caught D.O’s attention. Never has he heard such emptiness in Yoona’s voice, he has never heard use this range of voice. D.O looked up to find a sad looking Yoona, “Are you alright?” D.O asked touching Yoona by the shoulder. The sad looking girl was looking towards the ground when D.O approached her, she finch when she felt a soft touch on her skin getting caught off guard.

“Sorry if I scared you, I wanted to see if you’re alright. You seem sad” D.O explained himself as he tried to look at Yoona with pure sincerity.

“Oh.. umm.. I’m fine, you just scared me” Yoona quickly snapped out of thoughts and chuckled just to show D.O she is alright.

 "Are you sure?" D.O had to reassure again, he could see the sadness in Yoona’s eyes when looking at them. He doesn’t know the girl very well, only that she is an exact replica of Hyoyeon. But now he was seeing a different Yoona, looking into her eyes, D.O could see there’s something bothering her as if she is itching to say something but is too scared to say it out loud. For the first time in his life has he seen a fragile side to Yoona.

"I'm just thinking" Yoona looked the other way, she breed in and out to take in the air and closed her eyes for a bit. She brought her knees to the chest and laid the side of her head on her elbow. “You look deep in thought, its looks like the more you think, the more it is hurting you. You can tell me what is wrong” D.O advised nicely, he would understand if she doesn’t agree to but D.O wanted to know what is wrong with the young girl. He wanted to help her, looking at her sad looking eyes was itching D.O to help the poor girl out. "I was thinking, before Hyemin and Luhan left for the canteen I have realize I actually like this little group that is forming" Yoona explained as she opened her eyes and looked straight across D.O’s wide looking eyes. “What group?" D.O was confused in Yoona’s explanation, making Yoona decided to elaborate on it much more.

"The group that is forming of you, me, Luhan and Hyemin, I like this little group forming, its better then hanging out with the overbearing Hyoyeon” Yoona continued with her explanation. "Hyemin and I are from a friendship group where Hyoyeon controls everything leaving us with no say. Believe it or not but Hyemin and I are very similar, we both deal with the same problems. We both crave for attention. We both never wanted to smoke, drink or do drugs, neither of our families come from that state compared to the other families in the group. However, Hyemin and I were exposed to it and we did it because we were influenced to believe that doing these things is cool. We also did it to gain attention from others. D.O you may see me as a bad girl, and most of the time I am but I’ll be honest with you. I was a different person when I joined the group, upon joining I changed, the group changed me. It wasn’t until when Hyemin joined when I realize how much I have changed, I saw the process she went through to join the group which is the identical process as to what I went through. It was really disgusting to watch and an eye opener to know that I too went through that process. You may not believe me but I am a different person as to what people portray me as. Being with this
