Daehyun’s POV

The moment that the bright light flashed we were both falling down in mid air.

“W-what…?!” Himchan shouted.

“This is normal!” I shouted back to him. We then both landed on the ground roughly. It seemed like we had landed in the far east side of the palace.

“Ah, it hurts.” I groaned along with Himchan. This part always surprises me. I’ve never fallen from such height before but I know that it can be very dangerous however. So far I haven’t received any serious injury besides sores and bruises.

“Aish, so annoying!” Himchan said getting up. He looked over to me a bit concerned but he still was mad at me.

“Are you okay?” He asked me with a straight face.

“Yes..” I said getting up. He then walked away making me follow him.

“Hyung, we should have at least bid them a goodbye before leaving. Don’t you think it’s rude?” I said to him

“Rude is that last thing I’m worrying about right now.” He said not looking at me.

‘Isn’t he being too much right now?’ I said in my head. I know that there’s some explaining and misunderstanding but how can we just leave like that.

“Hyung-“

“Stop it. I don’t want any excuses.” He cut me off madly.

“I have to explain.” I said just hoping that he would listen to me.

“I don’t want your explanation right now.”

“Why are you so mad?” I asked him

“Anyone would be mad and horrified about this if they knew.” He said madly as he stared at me with his sharp eyes.

“W-What part of it was so bad?” I asked since all of this was making my head jumbled up. He then stopped and turned to wards me.

“Let me ask you one thing. Did you… really kiss him?” Himchan asked me as he tried to calm down.

“I-I just wanted to try it.” I said softly. Himchan just turned away shocked.

“Just what did you think you were doing. Kissing him is one thing but he also woke up. From what Zelo said only true love’s kiss would wake him up. What makes you to Yongguk then?!” He said making me confused and surprised.

‘True love… Then Yongguk does… love me. But what about me?’ I asked myself in my head.

“T-that… I don’t know.” I stuttered

“Let me ask you another question. What relationship are you two in?” He asked making me look at him. My eyes trailed away as I thought about it.

‘Aren’t we… friends? But..’ I was confused and a bit ashamed to tell him that Yongguk likes me.

“I-I don’t know.” I said softly with my head down

“What do you mean you don’t know? Unless it’s been more than just friendship.” He said making me frustrated and nervous.

‘What do I say?..’ I panicked.

“Does he like you?”

“…” I didn’t dare to answer him.

“Huhh~” He sighed.

“Do you like him?” he asked me.

“I don’t know!” I was so confused.

“Don’t even think about it. It’s a no. Never! It’s not even possible.” He said loudly. It was a good thing no one was around us at the moment.

“Why?” I asked him

“What do you mean why?” He asked back at me

“It’s a man with another man!” He said madly

“If you actually think about it, it’s… not that bad.” I spoke up.

“WHAT?! It’s terrible. It’s a taboo. What’s wrong with you Daehyun?” He said making me feel so bad but mad at the same time.

“People in the future have accepted it.” I said looking up at him

“We’re not from the future.” He said making me rethink about it.

‘He’s right but still this is just a matter of rethinking about it not something involved with time.’ I said in my head.

“Still. We’ve been looking at this from an outsiders point of view but not-“

“Outsider? Are you saying you're an ‘insider’? That you're one of them? Daehyun, why are you like this all of a sudden?” He said as if I changed a lot from before.

“I’m just being me and more understanding.”

“What is there to understand between a man being with another man?” Himchan said madly.

“Love! Isn’t love the important part.” I said.

“Love?” Himchan was surprised.

“Liking someone and having them like you back. Isn’t that important.”

“That’s not all in a relationship Daehyun. What about family? Peoples judgment and allies.” He said making me frustrated.

‘Those are important but…’ I didn’t know what to say.

“Daehyun. Do you really plan on having such a relationship?” He asked me making me think about it.

“You two are from different time periods.” He said which made me even more frustrated.

‘He’s right. We’re from different time periods. Even if I… feel the same we can’t be together. We did talk about it but I’ve never worried about it ‘ I said in my head.

“My Prince!” I heard a familiar voice. I turned around and saw Hyung Sun running towards me.

“We’ll talk again some other time. Don’t you even think about going back anytime soon.” Himchan said coldly and walked away. His words stung and expression lingered in my head.

‘Is it really that bad?’ I asked myself

“My Prince!” Hyung Sun ran up to me out of breath.

“Where have you been all morning and why are you dressed like that?” He threw a bunch of questions on me.

“I just wanted some fresh air.” I said shortly as I tried to calm down

“My Prince you shouldn’t wander off like this especially in secret. If the King find’s out we will both in trouble.

“I’m sorry.” I said feeling so tired.

“I’m going to go rest in my room.” I said and walked off. A lot was going through my head. I would just think about what Himchan had just said to me and really just thought about it.

‘Do I really like him?... Love him?’ I asked myself. I mean before I said I did but now that I actually think about it’s… impossible.  When I got to my room I changed my clothes and just lie down.

“My Prince, are you feeling sick?” Hyung Sun asked me.

“No I just want to rest a bit.” I said.

“If you need anything my Prince I would be outside. Also when would you like to eat.? He asked me

‘I am hungry but I don’t want to eat.’ I said in my head as I thought about it.

“Ummm, yes I guess I’ll eat now.” I said. And with that he left the room let me have some time alone.

“It hurts” I placed a hand on my chest as I breathe slowly.

“I wonder what Yongguk is doing or is feeling. He must be so upset or even mad because I left without a proper goodbye.” I said to myself.

‘At least he’s awake now.’ I smiled. I then began thinking about the kiss.

“True love” I said out loud softly.

‘What does that mean though?’ I thought about it.

‘He... truly loves me?’ I wondered

‘Then I’m his true love. Is he my true love?’ I was getting a bit confused and unsure. What are my feelings for him? Love or just grateful? What if I do love him?

“If I’ve already been visiting him as a friend there wouldn’t be much of a difference if we actually started dating would it?” I asked myself.

‘What if I don’t love him?’ I asked myself but this question twisted my mind a bit.

‘Well…. It would be one-sided love.’ I felt like something wasn’t right when I said that.

“Just what is love?” I realized that I didn’t really know what love was. All I know is that I love my parents but what about relationship wise. Just then someone was outside of my room.

“My Prince, you’re food is here.” Hyung Sun said loudly.

“Yes.” I sat up and waited for their entrance. Two maids came in and began placing the dishes onto the table in front of me.

‘How do I figure out what love is?’ I wondered. I then looked over to the two maids.

‘Should I ask?’ I raised a brow.

“Tsk~” I air in my mouth with my teeth clenched as I rubbed my chin. The two maids peeked up to see my gaze on them.

‘Asking one of them would be a lot better than asking Hyung Sun.’ I said in my head.

“Are you two busy after this?” I asked him boldly.

“Yes?” They seemed shocked. They looked up at me with wide eyes before dropping their heads again.

“It’s nothing serious. I just want to ask you something. Perhaps one of you can stay for a moment?” I asked them. The two of them exchanged stares before doing little motions.

“You two can talk about it.” I said to them with a smile.

“Please excuse us a bit.” One of the maids got up and pulled the other along with her further away from me.

‘What’s so hard to decide? Do they both want to leave?... Or do they both want to stay?’ I wondered as I ate. They didn’t seem scared or unhappy so I figure both of them wanted to stay. After all there was a rumor about the maids wanted to meet me because I’m so good looking.

“You both can stay if you would like.” I said to them.

“Can we?” Their eyes lit up.

“Of course.” I said smiling. I didn’t really have any female friends. Actually I didn’t have any friends at all. I do know some people but I don’t think I would call them my friends. Himchan is my only friend.

“Then can we both stay? Uh My Prince.” They said politely.

“Yes you two may. Have a seat.” I motion my hand in front of me.

“Yes, my Prince.” they bowed and kneeled down.

“Would this be an appropriate time to talk? Would you like to eat first?” One of them said to me.

“It’s fine, it’s going to be quick.” I said as I  looked at them.

“What are your names?” I asked them.

“Yes. My name is An Janyi.” The young lady on the left introduced herself.

“My name is Kim Yunhee.” They said politely.

“Miss An Janyi and miss Kim Yunhee please talk to me comfortably. No one is here to be strict on you.” I said making then surprise.

“No we shouldn’t. Like this is fine my Prince.” They said as they tried to keep their heads down.

“Okay then. I’m just going to ask you straightforwardly. What is love?” I asked them.

“Yes?!” They were so surprised by my question that their eyes widen.

‘Is it that surprising?’ I wondered
