I opened one of my eyes and peeked out into my room. I had a very nice dream last night. I laughed at how desperate my brain is Yuri and me together? It’s definitely a dream. I checked my watch and it was only 5:30am. It’s still so early. I rolled in bed and checked my messages. I laughed at Taeyeon’s message, and then it struck me like lightning. This was definitely in my dream last night. It was a dream right?

I opened the other messages and smiled like an idiot. It wasn’t a dream! I laughed out loud and shouted.

“It wasn’t a dream! It wasn’t a dream! Wohoo!” I jumped up and down in bed like I won the lottery or something; the only difference is that this is better than any lottery. The door opened and three heads popped out, looking at me strangely. My mom came in as I was standing on my bed.

“Are you okay honey?” She started and I just grinned as I stared at her. Honey. Yes, Honey!

I snapped back to reality when my mom started waving her hand close to my face. She was definitely worried.

“Yoona? Yoong!” She called out.

“Yeah?” I answered, still smiling.

“Are you okay? Why are you shouting and smiling like that? Do you have any problems? Are you taking drugs? Oh no. Why Yoong? Why? Aren’t you addicted to food anymore?!” My mom ranted out as she wiped a few tears while my dad and Robert came rushing in. Robert was comforting mom while dad helped me down the bed. I sat on the bed as the three of them just looked worriedly at me.

“I’m okay mom.” I said and shook my head as I laughed lightly.

“Do you want to see a doctor?” My mom said as she hugged me.

I looked at my dad and he just shrugged. I rolled my eyes.

“Mom, what are you talking about? I’m not taking drugs, I don’t have any problems and yes, I’m still addicted to food.” I said as I faced my mother who was quietly sobbing.

“Darling, you’re just overreacting.” My dad said as he patted my mom’s back. “Yoong, you explain to your mom what’s happening so she won’t worry a lot.”

I took a deep breath and smiled.

“Mom, dad, Robert, I’m just happy. No, scratch that, very happy. I may act a little weirder than usual but I assure you everything is fine.” I gave them a reassuring smile. They just smiled back and finally mom stopped shedding tears and came near me and hugged me.

“Just tell us anything Yoong, we’ll listen, we’ll always be here for you baby.” She said in my ear and they went back to their rooms.

Everything in my world right now seems unreal. My reality is a dream and I know I can’t afford to lose this. I can’t afford to lose Yuri. So while I’m at it, I’m going to show her every day that what we have is real, starting now.

I picked my phone up and contemplated if I’m going to text her or not. I decided not to and smiled as a plan started to unravel inside my head.

Yuri POV

I opened my eyes as sunlight flooded my room. Aargh. I forgot to close the blinds again.

It’s a little late from my usual waking time but I’ve been tired lately and now that everything seems to fit in their right places, I want to rest a little. I stood up and hastily closed the blinds engulfing the whole room in darkness. Now this is better.

I smiled and made my way towards my bed and lied down, intending to sleep again.

I was drifting off to sleep when the door creaked open and I felt someone inside.

This is odd. If the girls were to wake me up they’ll be shouting their heads off, or worse jump on me on this bed.

I opened one eye and looked around. I gasped and opened both of my eyes. There she was, the most beautiful girl holding a breakfast tray smiling at me.

Yoona POV

“Good morning Hon.” I smiled wider as I saw the look of surprise in her face. I walked beside her bed and sat down.

“I made you breakfast.” I said as I prepared the foods. She was still speechless as she sat up. I stared at her, admiring her pretty face. She stared back and slowly leaned in and kissed my cheek. I was caught off guard and looked down. I was blushing madly with her sudden action. When I looked back at her, she was smiling at me.

“Good morning too Honey.” She said.

I made her waffles, eggs and bacon and brought her water and milk.

“How was your sleep?” I asked as I started cutting the foods to pieces and feeling her gaze on me.

“Hmm. It was great Hon. The best I had these days.” She said truthfully.

“Did you dream of me?” I teased and smiled at her; she blushed and looked down, looking very adorable.

She just nodded her head cutely making me smile wider. I held her chin and made her face me. I leaned in and kissed her forehead gently.

“Now let me help you eat up.” I said and started feeding her. She was fussing at first but I finally got her to just go with it saying nothing will stop me from feeding her.

“How about you?” She asked as she was munching some eggs.

“I already ate at home.” I answered and saw her pout.

“You should’ve eaten with me.”

“I’m sorry hon. Next time okay?” But she was still pouting. I smiled and picked up the fork again, getting a piece bacon and ate it.

“There, now we’re eating together.” I said and smiled but she was still pouting. She grabbed the fork and got a piece of egg. She placed it right in front of my mouth. I looked at her weirdly.

“I want to feed you too.” She said quietly but the impact of her words was like powerful waves from the sea. I couldn’t help but open my mouth and eat with the happiest feeling in the world. I smiled as I was chewing.

“There. I don’t want you starve on me.” She smiled mischievously. It was my turn to pout and as quick as it came it was immediately erased and was replaced by a grin. Yuri just kissed my nose and I was in the brink of losing it. Too much happiness might make me crazy.

We were feeding each other when the door suddenly opened.

“Oops. Am I disturbing something?” Jessica asked.

We both blushed as I shook my head.

“No. What’s up Sica?” Yuri asked.

“Do you guys want to go with us? We’re going to Soo’s granny.” She asked while eyeing us suspiciously.

Yuri looked at me, her eyes communicating with me. I shrugged and signalled that it was all up to her. Yuri sighed and looked at Jessica.

“I still haven’t showered so I guess we’ll just pass.” She said. I couldn’t help but feel happy that we’re going to spend this day by ourselves. I maintained a straight face though my insides were literally squirming from happiness.

“Well, okay. Just text or call or something.” Sica closed the door and left.

I let out my breath and stared at Yuri.

“Do you really want to stay because you didn’t shower yet?” I asked.

“Nope. I want to spend this day with you.” She smiled and hugged me.

After a while we went down and found out that the girls were still there.

“Hey, Yuri! Liked your breakfast?” Tiffany said as she looked up from her phone.

“Yeah, how was it? Yoona went here early just to cook for you, you know? Man, are we all friends here? Why only you get a breakfast?” Sooyoung whined and pouted getting a punch in the shoulder by Jessica who was sitting beside her in the couch.

“Unnie, stop whining about food. You’re just jealous you didn’t get to eat some of those.” Seohyun said crossing her legs.

“Well they looked yummy.” Soo said while rubbing her shoulder.

“I’m sorry guys. I’ll cook for you all next time.” I said and walked towards the kitchen to place the tray and the empty plates.

When I went back to the living room they were all standing and was about to leave.

“You sure you too aren’t coming? Grandma prepared a lot of food for us.” Soo said as Tiffany was taking her by the hand. Jessica and Seo were already heading out.

“Uhm, it’s really okay Soo. But thanks anyway.” I said and Yuri waved them goodbye as they drove away.

I moved towards the kitchen when Yuri said she’ll take a bath first.

I was washing the dishes when I felt arms around my waist. I smiled as I smelled fresh from the shower scent of Yuri. She rested her chin on my shoulder.

“That was fast.” I teased.

“Well, I don’t want you to keep waiting.” She whispered.

“Uhm, did you shower well?” I smirked as she slapped me playfully.

“I smell good. Does that answer your question?” She said and rested her chin again.

“Hmmm. Yeah, you smell very good.” I complimented and smiled. We stayed like that through the whole dishwashing and occasional bickering because I won’t let her help me.

The truth is I was a bit exhausted from all the activities I did, this early morning, not to mention how early I woke up. We moved to the couch where I lied down and Yuri sat beside me.

“You’re tired aren’t you?” She asked as she played with my hand.

“No I’m not.” I said as I sat up. I don’t want to be so tired today. This is our first official day together.

She hugged me tightly, causing me to lean on the armrest. I hugged her back.

“Yes you are. Don’t lie to me please.” She said. I sighed and knew that I should be totally honest with her. I don’t want to lie to Yuri anymore. I want us to build our relationship in mutual trust and love.

“Okay. Yes, I guess I am a little tired hon.” I admitted as I her hair with one hand while the other still hugging her.

She pulled back and stood up grabbing my arm as we head upstairs to her room.

She pushed me to bed and jumped in. We were both lying on our backs now. I turned and faced her and she did the same.

“Can we sleep a bit? I don’t want my honey to be too tired.” She said as she snuggled closer to my chest.

“Are you sure?” I said as I wrapped my arm on her waist, hugging her. She looked up to me and whispered.

“Yes hon, let’s sleep, okay?”

I just nodded and hugged her tighter. I opened my eyes and just stared out into the darkness since we turned off the lights and closed the blinds. After a few minutes Yuri said something.

“Hon, are you awake?” Her voice was a bit muffled in my chest.

“Yes.” I said and tried to look at her and figure out her face through the darkness.

“Hmm. Can I ask you something?” Shifted and came face to face with me.

“Sure.” I said as I touched her face with my finger, tracing her beautiful features.

“Are we going to tell them?” She asked reluctantly.

“Who?” I said.

“All of them, our friends, families.” She said moving her hand to my shoulder. I knew she was going to ask me that, I just didn’t know it would be this soon.

I cupped her face with my hand.

“It’s up to you. Whatever is comfortable with you. I know we’re going to tell them sooner or later but I want to do that whenever you’re ready. I don’t want to rush on things; we both know it can be difficult. But trust me; I will be there with you no matter what.” I said and smiled at her though I highly doubt if she can see me through this darkness.

She never replied but I can say she was feeling okay as she was once again snuggling into me, our faces just a few centimetres from each other.

“Thank you hon. Let’s sleep okay?” She said as I allowed myself to close my eyes and drift off to dreamland.

I woke up as I felt my left arm getting numb. I smiled as I saw the most beautiful sight ever, Yuri sleeping, using my arm as her pillow. I almost laughed out loud when I saw something sticking out of .

It’s her tongue! How cute!

As I continued staring at her, I feel tempted with her lips, wanting to kiss her.

Aaargh. How could she be this lovely?

My arm is seriously numb and I can’t feel it anymore. But I don’t want to move or else I’ll wake her up. I tried to sleep again but I felt her move that made me open my eyes.

“Hi hon.” She greeted as she finally woke up. “Had a great sleep?”

“Yep. Who wouldn’t when I’m here with you?” I said as I wrapped my arms around her, hugging her tightly.

“Sweet.” She giggled. I checked my watch and realized it’s already one in the afternoon.

“Uhm, want to have lunch with me?” I offered as she sat up, stretching her arms. I lied down looking at her back.

“How about I’ll cook something for us?” Yuri said as she looked back at me. I smiled in response.

“Just wait here okay? And I’ll be cooking downstairs.” She said as she stood up from the bed.

She left me in her room. With nothing to do, I started looking around, admiring photos pinned in a board hanged beside her desk.

She was with her friends, some were taken during their childhood, some with Jessica and a younger girl. I love looking at her with that bright smile in her face showing her happy attitude. I saw one picture of a little girl wearing a white dress playing by the water, it was her. The next photo shocked me. There I was, still a little girl wearing a baby blue dress holding her hand as we sat by a swing, both smiling for the camera. I felt myself tearing up as I touched the photo with my finger.

“You always looked adorable with those eyes.” Yuri said as she hugged me from behind.

“I never knew we had a picture taken before.” I said as I faced her.

“I think that was the time when my dad saw us playing.” She said while we were hugging.

“You look so beautiful, even from before.” I whispered.

“I love your eyes. You know what; I grew up staring at that photo wishing Toothy back. I memorized her features very well and I dream about her at night. When I first saw you here, I can’t help but feel at ease with you. You resemble her you know. Your eyes, they make me feel calm and happy. But I know it was impossible for you to be Toothy. Now, I don’t believe there’s impossible anymore.” She giggled as she kissed my cheek.

I smiled and tucked in the stray hair covering her face.

We were staring at each other when suddenly the familiar sound of my stomach gurgling broke off our contact.

She laughed at me as I pouted.

“Let’s eat.” She dragged me out of the room and we went off to the dining room.

“Hmmm. It looks good.” I said as I saw her serving a plate of carbonara.

“It tastes good too.” She giggled.

I have to admit that Yuri is really a wonderful cook. Her pasta and chicken made me more of a shikshin than I already am. I can already envision my future with her cooking for me in our own house. How I’d love to spend my days with her.

“Thank you for the food hon.” I said as I helped her clear the table. She now insisted to clean the dishes because I never let her before.

While she was doing it, I gave her a backhug and rested my head on her shoulder with my nose on her neck. She smells so good. I feel like a creeper sniffing her this way. When she finished, I lead her outside towards my car.

“Where are we going?” She asked as I lead her in.

“It’s a surprise. Would you like to go out with me on this date?” I smiled as I let her sit on the passenger’s seat.

“I’d love to.” She answered and smiled back.

I closed the door and walked towards the driver’s side and went in.

I was driving while we kept on talking along the way.

“You know what hon, I really hated wearing dresses when I was a kid. Well, even now.” I said as she intertwined our fingers. She laughed.

“I can’t imagine how we were able to run around wearing those. You were always the hyper one, dragging me around though you practically have no idea of the place.” She said.

“Did you live here that time?” I asked.

“Nope. I just came here during summers. It was the usual boring summer for me when I met you. You changed how I view summer since then.” She laughed.

“Well, my memory isn’t that great. I mean, I don’t remember much about my childhood here.” I said gloomily.

“Hey, it’s okay hon. We can make great new memories together now.” She smiled sweetly.

“I know but I can’t help but feel sad knowing I don’t remember much of our times together. They are all special you know.”

“I’ll just tell you about it, if you want.” She kissed my hand.

I smiled and looked at her. “Thanks.”

“Okay, I’ll tell you how we met.”

Flashback Yuri POV

I looked down at my dress. Why would they always dress me like this? I’m just going to play.

It’s very boring here in the lake house. They won’t even let me near the water. What’s great in being here when I can’t even play? It has always been this way. I spend the summer here, waiting for it to end.

I sighed as I kicked a stone out of the way. I was walking on the lakeside for some time now.

I almost jumped in surprise as I saw a girl perched on top of a big rock. Her dress a little wet and dirty. I bet she was playing in the water. She looked down at me as I stared at her. She then gave me a toothy smile.

“Hi!” She smiled and waved and gestured that she’ll come down.

A few moments later she was standing near me, surprising me again.

“Hi!” She greeted once more.

I smiled at her.

“Hello.” I was a little shy.

“Wow. Finally I see someone as old as me! I’ve been playing alone for some days now and it’s pretty boring.” The girl pouted.

“Me too.” I said quietly.

“Uhm, can you be my friend? Please?”  The girl said as she looked at me intently. I saw her eyes and I knew I loved them since then.

“Well, okay. I’m Yuri.” I said.

“Hmm. But I like us to call us by names that only the two of us can call each other.” She pouted.

“Okay.” I just said.

“How about I call you Hearty?” She smiled her toothy smile again.

“Hearty? Why Hearty?” I said, baffled by my new nickname.

“Because you have a pretty heart pendant you’re wearing on your necklace.” She grinned. I touched my pendant and looked at it. It was my favourite pendant. I smiled.

“Okay. Well, I’ll call you Toothy.” I grinned.

“Toothy?”

“You have a very nice toothy smile.” I giggled.

“Thanks!” Toothy said as she dragged me towards the water.

“Oh no. I can’t play there.” I panicked as I saw her jumping on the water. She was motioning me to come with her.

“You’re lucky you’re allowed to play there.” I sighed.

“I’m not.” She grinned sheepishly.

“What?! Then why are you playing there?” I gasped.

“Because it’s fun! Don’t you want to have fun for once?” She said as she stood in front of me holding my hand.

“I don’t know, Daddy might scold me.” I answered.

“Don’t worry about it okay? Let’s just have some fun.” She said as she slowly pulled me towards the water. I was reluctant at first but when she started flicking water to me I knew I just have to fight back.

I got scolded when I got home that night. I was drenched and my shoes were soaked and muddy.

But I had my happiest summer day so far.

I can’t wait to see Toothy again. That night I lay in bed thinking and looking forward to my tomorrow and slept with a tired smile on my lips.

Back to Present YoonYul Yoona POV

I laughed as I heard the story of our first encounter. I always knew how boyish I am.

Yuri was giggling too, as she was narrating the story animatedly. I can imagine how I look with all the dirt. I chuckled. Finally, we arrived at my planned site.

“Well, hon. We’re here. I was a jerk because I forgot our first day together before. How about I repay you with this first official date?” I asked as I lead her out the car holding her hand.

She just smiled at me and I knew this is going to be fun.
