When you woke up the next morning your thoughts went almost immediately from wanting to kill your phone for waking you up, to Lay. 

Was he still in pain? You asked yourself scratching your forehead slightly. Faster than you had ever before, you got out of bed and quickly pulled on a pair of jeans but kept your big T-shirt that you had slept in on. You hurried out of the room and stopped in front of the couch.   

Lay was laying there, his mouth slightly open and his chest rising and sinking in a peaceful pace. He was asleep. His eyebrows were just slightly furrowed in pain and a wet towel was still resting on his waist.   

You lifted it as well as the bucket filled with now cold water and walked inside the kitchen.

“Morning.” Kris nodded, his mouth full of cereals. You smiled back at him and the other aliens before emptying the last of the water and filling the bucket again.    

As you then about 3 minutes later put a new warm towel on Lay’s waist you noticed him slightly opening his eyes and watching you with a warm smile.  

“Oh, did I wake you up? Sorry…” You said. 

“It’s okay.” Lay said, his eyes looking very tired.   

“How are you feeling?” You asked a little worried.

“I’m…” he winced slightly in pain. “…okay.” He smiled again.    

You raised a suspicious eyebrow at him. “Right…” you mumbled, shaking your head slightly.

The days passed and you had been skipping most of your classes to be able to stay home and take care of Lay. Even though he almost couldn’t speak during the first 2-3 days you still somehow felt that you grew closer to him. In the beginning, having him watch you with a weak yet warm smile made you feel kind of uncomfortable, but soon you grew used to it and almost started… liking it. 

“We should make something for her.” Suho said one day as he was helping Kyungsoo with breakfast.
Even though it was Saturday you had gone up early to be able to take care of Lay that just yesterday had started being able to walk a little again.       

“Something what?” Chanyeol asked, stuffing his face with American pancakes.

“I don’t know… Something as a thank you for her taking care of Lay so good all this time. I swear he that doesn’t even miss his mom when she’s around.” Suho said crossing his arms as he watched you and Lay from the kitchen. You were currently telling Lay about this one time when you skipped studying for an exam to be able to stay up and watch Infinite’s new music video right when it got released. Then, you of course had failed the exam and your mother had gone completely ballistic and refused to let you buy the new Infinite album. 

“Yeah… She needs to get out of the apartment for a little bit.” Luhan agreed. “She hasn’t even gone to school really this week.” 

“I know...” Kai nodded in agreement.

“How ‘about we take her out shopping?!” Tao exclaimed excitedly.

“Ooh~ Good idea!” Baekhyun smiled. “I heard human girl LOVE to shop.”

“Great. Then that’s decided. I’ll take Julia out shopping today.” Kris said as he filled his plate with a just finished pancake.

“You? Why just you?” Kyungsoo asked as he poured more batter into the frying pan.

“Does she even like you?” Sehun furrowed his eyebrows.

“Yes. She does.” Kris said with a fierce glare towards the maknae. “Okay, just checking.” Sehun said quietly, putting his hands in front of him in defense.

“I want to go shop too~!” Tao whined with a pout. Kris sighed. “Fine. You can come too.” “Yeey! Thank you Duizhang!” he exclaimed happily and hugged a startled Kris quickly.

In the end, Baekhyun had managed to convince Tao to convince Kris that he could come too and the three of them all sat down and watched you as you ate your pancakes about 15 minutes later. 

“Okay, what is it?” you asked, putting down your fork.

“Nothing.” Kris said with no signs of emotions, still staring at you, which of course made you uncomfortable.

Baekhyun slightly elbowed Kris. “Chill.” He muttered before turning to you with a smile. “We just thought… That we’d take you out today.”

You raised an eyebrow. “Out?”

“Yeah, you know, outside of this building. Which you haven’t left at all in the past 3 days or so.” Baekhyun said with raised eyebrows, trying to convince you.

You just shook your head as you cut up a piece of your pancake. “I can’t. I have to stay by Lay’s side.” You explained with a shrug.

“Don’t worry, Suho will take care of him for you. It’s just for a couple of hours anyway. You’ll be back to unicorn boy before dawn.” Tao said with an assuring smile.

You didn’t know how they did it, but they managed to convince you and half an hour later, you were standing in the hallway with proper clothes that were not your pajamas on, feeling guilty for leaving Lay. 

“If there’s anything, really, anything, you can call me and I’ll be here as fast as I can.” You promised, realizing you sounded like your grandma.   

“You do understand, we don’t have any phones that can call human phones, right?” Chen raised an eyebrow at you but you just glared at him. “So maybe I should stay home then.”

“No, no, no. Come now. Lay will be completely fine without you for a few hours.” Tao assured and took a grip around your elbow as he pulled you out of the apartment.

“Are we shopping?” You asked with a raised eyebrow as the four of you stood outside of the best mall near your apartment.

“Yup.” Baekhyun said and put an arm around your shoulders which earned him an unliking look from Kris. 

“I know, isn’t it great?!” Tao exclaimed, jumping up and down while clapping his hands, looking extremely silly. 

“Super…” you sighed, crossing your arms.

You entered the crowded mall and spotted some girl from your school. They eyed you, or maybe rather, the boy who currently held his arm around your shoulder in a very boyfriendy manner.

“Aish, give that up.” Kris muttered and pushed Baekhyun’s arm off of you as he noticed other people noticing it. He couldn’t help but to admit to himself that he didn’t want people to think that Baekhyun was your boyfriend.   

“Oh my God, where do we START!?” Tao exclaimed happily, looking around at all the stores that existed just on the floor you had entered.

“I really don’t care…” you muttered.

While Tao pulled Kris along with him around in every store, convincing the elder alien to buy him all kinds of unnecessary crap, you were bored to death as Baekhyun mostly window-shopped where he was walking next to you.

“Hey, I thought girls liked to shop.” He pointed out, poking your upper arm.

You eyed him slightly. “Maybe most girls do, but I just find it boring.” You sighed.

“Oh, that’s too bad.” Baekhyun mumbled apologetically.

“Yeah, yeah...” you muttered, although you couldn’t help but to smile when you saw Kris face palm himself as Tao tried on a leopard printed hat with an excited smile.

“What do you think about this shirt?” Baekhyun asked and lifted a white T-shirt with some fancy words in French printed on it.   

You shrugged. “That’s fine.” Baekhyun ignored your un-enthusiasm and eyed the shirt. “I’m gonna try it on.” He said. 

“Whatever…” you mumbled. You watched as Tao pulled Kris towards the line that lead to the cash register and he waved his soon to be purchases at you with a smile. You waived back before you turned around to see if Baekhyun had returned from the changing rooms. 

“BAEKHYUN!” you hissed. He was standing right where you left him. He had taken his black T-shirt of and was currently in the process of putting on the white one with French words. He was standing in the middle of the store, shirtless.
