Blood Bond: Eclipse

We arrived in Brisbane in a matter of about 10 hours.

I couldn't help but to think about what people would say when they saw Kris.

I mean, look at how tall this guy was!

Yeah, sure, Jason's pretty tall too (about 184cm...I can't believe a tiny girl like me could have a life that's drowned in tall guys), but Kris would definately attract attention...

But where would he stay? How is he going to cope with Australian summer weather?

Should he meet mum first?

Yeah, maybe...

After getting out of customs, we eventually made it out.

I scanned the area and saw a woman frantically waving at me.

My face lit up as I instantly recognised her.

I ran off from Jason and Kris to her. "Mum!!!" I called as I ran.

"_________!!!" she responded.

I crashed into her and gave her a tight embrace. "I've missed you, mum."

"I've missed you too, honey." she said, rubbing my back. "Hanbyul!!"

Mum let go of me and I turned around to see her squeeze Jason to death in her trap-hug.

Jason's eyes bugged and he blared his teeth in surprise. "Mum, please don't use my, er, Korean name...it's a little embarrassing..."

She 'tsk'ed and let go of him, and slapped his arm shortly after. "You have been away from home for almost a year now, so I have the right to call you by whatever I want, understand?"

Jason sighed. "Yes, mother..."

I ran up to Kris and took his hand, pulling him to meet her.

Of course, she noticed him before I could even speak. "Yah, ________, who's this?"

I bit my lip and smiled. "Mum, this is Kris Wu, one of my good friends I met in Korea."

Mum looked a bit shocked. "Is he Korean?"

I flushed, knowing, obviously, that all Asian parents would ask their kids about what background their friends are from.

It bugged me like hell.

"I'm Chinese, but I was from Canada." Kris answered, making her look at him with surprise. "Hello, Mrs. Jang."

I slapped my forehead again. "Mum, before you ask, we should talk about this when we get home, please?"

She looked a little bothered, but nodded reluctantly.

--------

We got home and I ran upstairs to my room so I could dump all my stuff in my room.

Once I did that, I quickly changed into some loose pyjama pants and a loose t-shirt.

I looked around my room; nothing changed.

The posters of all the punk bands I liked were surprisingly still in tact, my books on my bookshelf were still in the same position and order they were left, and all the furniture was still in the same places they were.

A knock was heard at the door and I opened it, revealing a rather impatient Kris.

"Your mum wants you downstairs so she could give you a long- lecture about boys." he said bluntly.

I rolled my eyes. "Anything else?"

"I can't say, otherwise we'll keep her waiting."

I sighed and tip-toed up to him. Kris smirked a little and leaned down to my height, giving me a soft kiss on my lips.

Once we pulled away, I couldn't help but to stare at him a little longer, admiring his handsome features.

"Good luck." he murmured in my ear, "I'll be listening from up here," he pointed to the top of the staircase.

I nodded and got out of the room, bracing myself for the bombardment of questions from mum.

I got down to the bottom level and saw her sitting on one of the couches in the living room.

She looked ready to shoot questions at me and give me a couple of lectures.

And when I say 'a couple', I mean at least a few hours worth.

I gulped and went to sit down next to her. "Hey, mum..." I said and gave her a small smile. "Where's Eric?"

Yeah, that's the name of her new boyfriend...

"He's at work," she replied and placed her arm around my shoulder. "How was Korea and visiting Jason?"

"It was fine, I actually fit in pretty well, except that I have darker skin than all the other Korean girls because I'm from Brisbane, otherwise, I made a few good friends."

"Only a few?"

I bit my lip. "Okay, a little more than a few, but they're really nice."

"And how were your studies?"

I nodded my head. "It's good. I'm still on top of everything like usual."

She smiled and ruffled my hair. "That's good, but is that Kris boy older than you?"

Yeah, that's the thing with me and my mum; we speak in both Korean and English, but she speaks more Korean that I do.

I nodded again. "He's in year twelve, so he's graduating in a few weeks. I don't know which uni he's going to, though."

"Does he do good in his studies?"

"Well, yeah, he does the equivalent of Extension 2 maths, and chemistry, physics...you know...all those Asian subjects."

She chuckled. "That's good. How's he coping with the hot weather here?"

I shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know, I should ask him," I turned my head back to face the stairs. "KRIS?!"

"YEAH?"

"MY MUM ASKED HOW YOU'RE FINDING THE HOT WEATHER HERE!"

"IT'S GREAT!"

I turned back to mum. "Well, you heard him."

The corner of her lips twisted into a small smile. "How did he move to Korea? Wasn't he happy in Canada?"

I shrugged again. "I'm not sure. I guess he wanted to experience a new life, or something."

"Is he going to uni in Korea?"

"Most likely."

"Are you going to uni there or here?"

I sighed and shook my head. "I'm not sure..."

She gave me a soft smile. "Have you found any boy that you like?"

I gasped, almost choking on my own spit. "Mum! What are you talking about?! I don't date..."

I hope she bought that.

Dear God, if she knew that I was bonded to TWELVE guys...she's gonna kill me.

Mum chuckled again and lightly played with the ends of my hair. "Well, if you want someone in the future, then, you have to be a little more feminine..."

I rolled my eyes. "Mum, I'm not going girly for anyone, just saying." I blushed at the thought of EXO. They seemed to have a thing for 'different' girls...

She shrugged her shoulders. "Well, don't you dare start dating now. You need your studies to focus on, alright?"

I bit my lip and nodded. "As always."

After another, I don't know, at least two hours of talking and lectures, mum let me go out and visit my old friends again.

I dragged Kris along with me and we went out of the house after I got changed.

"FINALLY! SUNSHINE AND HEAT!" I exclaimed once the both of us got out.

Kris chuckled. "It's so hot here, how can you live in this weather?"

I looked up at him. "I don't know, I'm just used to thirty-degree heat because I live at the Gold Coast."

He only shook his head, I smiled in delight that I was home.
