"WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT KEEPING A LOW PROFILE?!" he yelled to the ravaging newborns.

They didn't hear him. They were too busy extracting the life from the screaming humans to care.

The wide alley was destroyed.

Cars were upside down with their doors torn open, engines were on fire, and windows were smashed.

Seeing the newborns completely ignoring him only made him infuriated.

He turned around to face the newborns that were clinging on the flipped car like spiders.

They forcefully yanked the injured person out of the car and began surrounding him, feeding on him.

Aggravated, the leader tore the newborns off the car and the human, one by one, they screamed, and threw them on the cold ground.

The army were still making a huge ruckus as he growled and grabbed the door that lay in front of him.

He lifted it above his head and smashed it onto the ground, the sound of shattering metal and glass echoing throughout the alley.

Startled, they abruptly stopped the wrecking and stared at him silently.

He was fuming, mist was seeping from his mouth from blaring his teeth.

After a few deep breaths, a sadistic smile formed on his lips. "Something's coming," he said softly, slightly frightened. He looked around at the army, "Something...bigger than any of us...AND IF YOU CAN'T," he growled through his teeth, the muscles of his neck blaring before slightly softening his expression and tone, "Control yourselves...we're all going to die..." he scanned the area once more, "But together, we can crush anything. You understand?"

Silence.

"DO YOU," he screeched, but then lowering his tone again, "Understand?"

He looked down at the newborns that were kneeling at the soon-to-be-drained humans.

They glared up at him, not saying a word.

He swiftly exhaled. "Now...what's done...is done," he said, still with the hint of shakiness in his voice, "Just..." he threw up his arms in defeat, "Just clean up after yourselves...".

And with that, he walked off, not having any motivation to take care of the newborns.

He looked into the sky once more, worried, afraid.

The vampires averted their gazes after him. As soon as he was away they hungrily resumed feeding.

High up in an abandoned building, four women were glancing down at the havoc the newborns were creating.

Each of them glared at the scene.

"They've already drawn too much attention..." one of them said lowly.

"I don't see where all the action should be," another one hissed, "I was maybe beginning to question the Volturi's effectiveness."

After a short pause, the third one spoke. "Let them." she said, not looking at the second vampire.

The second woman slightly glared at the third since she was behind her, and turned around.

She began to take a few steps, to the attention of the rest of the group. "Maybe we should consult with Jaejoong."

The third woman averted her stare to the one in front. "No." she said flatly.

The second suddenly felt a shot of pain run through her body. She tried screaming, but no sound escaped.

She dropped to her knees, the pain becoming overwhelming for her.

The horrid sensation stopped suddenly, and she leaned forward, gasping for air.

"Why not, Jia?" she growled through her teeth without turning back to face the pain-giver, her eyes glaring at the ground.

Jia narrowed her eyes and slightly shook her head in disbelief. "Because Jaejoong's decisions are being watched. I know it." She turned her back on the woman kneeling on the ground to face the havoc once again. "Either we let them do what they were created for," she tilted her head to one side, "or we end them." she said simply, "Decisions, decisions..."

"Okay, so how do the guys resist being around me when I'm on my period?" I asked Dara as we walked back to the field that the guys dropped me off.

She cackled with laughter and clapped her hands together. I gave her a pout in response.

After a few moments, she slowed down her laughing. "Okay, okay, your menstrual blood isn't the same as a cut wound. The blood from menstruation isn't freshly oxygenated because it didn't flow from the heart."

I nodded once in understanding. "So the guys only drink whatever's in the bloodstream?"

"Yep."

"Ah..."

I sighed in relief, knowing that whenever I had my 'monthlies', I wouldn't have to worry about being around the guys.

Plus, they didn't seem to be killing themselves whenever I was on my period.

"Oh, and is it possible for me to unlock my bloodbending without the Bonded Circle?" I asked her, a little curious.

Dara only shook her head. "If there was a way, then I'd tell you already. Try it on me now."

We stopped walking and I looked at her, confused.

"Do it." she said.

I bit my lip and raised my arm towards her, concentrating my energy towards my hand.

If somebody saw this, I would look utterly stupid. And I felt stupid for doing this.

Dara remained still in the same stance she was in, staring at my hand.

I squinted my eyes and slowly curled my flexed fingers closer to my palm.

After a few moments, I couldn't concentrate anymore, so I released my hand and dropped, bracing onto my knees for support.

"Maybe it won't work like that," Dara suggested as I panted. "Maybe you should think of bloodbending someone, or any animal, a lot so you might have some ability to do so later on."

I got up and shrugged my shoulders. "I don't know...maybe it only works when the Bonded Circle appears."

"Mmm, maybe..." she said quietly and we continued walking through the forest.

So then, for the next few minutes that we walked back to the field, we were talking about girly things that I hated usually hated talking about, and about boys, too.

Dara said that she and her group didn't want mates, mainly because having mates is too complicated for them.

They like to be independent, and they need no man to do their dirty work for them. They didn't need to be protected, they didn't need love, and they certainly didn't need to be spoiled.

We eventually arrived at the field and saw that none of the guys were there.

"Okay, so since EXO aren't here yet, let's try unlocking the bloodbending." Dara said.

I hesitated. "I'm really not sure, Dara. This looks stupid."

She chuckled. "Not if anyone sees, it's not."

I sighed and complied. "Okay..."

We faced each other and I took a deep breath, closing my eyes.

I slowly raised my hands in front of me, hoping not to look like a zombie, applying energy to my hands.

I kept thinking that over and over, willing everything that I had to unlock the power.

Still, I felt nothing pass through my body.

Again, I released from my 'grip' and collapsed over my knees.

I panted like the first time and slowly looked up at Dara. "I'm guessing that didn't work?"

She shook her head. "I don't think it works the first time, like most things. I've never heard of anything like this, but it has the potential to happen...maybe..."

I scoffed and rolled my eyes.

"Okay, again." she commanded.

I braced myself in a defensive position and began raising my arms.

"Hey, ____-" I heard someone say before I could even start concentrating.

Dara and I flicked our heads in the direction of the source of the voice and saw the three guys walking over to us, with confused expressions plastered on their faces.

I straightened up and waved to them. "Hey, guys!"

They waved back.

"__________, what were you doing?" Suho asked once they got to Dara and I.

I gulped, exchanging glances with Dara.

She nodded, giving me a serious expression.

"Promise you guys won't laugh?" I said to them.

"Depends what it is." Kai answered, shrugging.

I huffed. "Well, Dara and I were trying to unlock my bloodbending without the Bonded Circle."

Luhan raised an eyebrow. "You know that's not possible."

I groaned and rolled my eyes. "I know, but, it's worth a shot, right?"

They gave us uncertain looks.

"We're just trying," Dara affirmed, "It's worth a shot. If it doesn't work, then, it doesn't work. If it's possible, then we can develop it."

Suho bit his lip. "I've never heard anything about that...anyway, thanks for taking care of her, Dara."

Dara waved her hands. "It's okay. It was good to have some girls-only time every now and then."

The guys nodded as I went over to their side.

"Thanks, Dara." I told her.

"It's nothing. I'd better find the rest. They're probably finished drinking now."

The four of us greeted her once more and waved.

She nodded and dashed off.

"So you're trying to bloodbend without the Bonded Circle?" Kai questioned as we were walking out of the field.

I nodded. "I don't want to wait until you guys are near death to be able to bloodbend."

"That's fine, ________," Luhan said, "It's our duty as your mate to love and protect you."

I shook my head. "That's not fair. We belong together. It's OUR duty to protect each other, and I don't want to be able to do so last-minute."

After a few moments, we headed near the edge of the forest where a road could be seen a few metres ahead.

Kai crouched down and I climbed onto his back.

"I know, I know, I'm ready." I huffed, burying my face into his shoulder while he stood up and held onto my legs.

"Then here we go." he said before I felt a rush of cold air pass my body.

I had HSC lectures to attend and they take all day =.=" So here's an extra long chapter ^_^
