Leeteuk's Morning Surprise

An Angel's Promise To The Sky
"YOBOSEYO..." Leeteuk said in a sleepy voice as he was awakened by the sound of his phone, he didn't bother to look who called him at 5 AM. He checked off the bed just 2 hours ago after working out with Siwon,

"Oppa, Sora imnida. Did I wake you up?" Sora answered on the other line meekly,

"S-Sora?! Do you know what time is it?" Leeteuk asked and immediately sat up to his bed and cleared his voice,

"Ne. It's 5 AM.Did I wake you up?" Sora asked Leeteuk again,

"Kinda, but it's fine. Did something happen? You won't call me this time of the day if there's nothing wrong." Leeteuk asked with concern on his voice,

"Aniya, I just miss you, oppa." Sora said to him and Leeteuk blushed on hearing her words, "I want to see you too." Sora said again,

"Jinjja?" Leeteuk asked sweetly, "Nado bogoshippeo, yeobo. I'll try and visit you later after our schedules are done, would that be alright?" Leeteuk asked,

"Andwae. I want to see you now, oppa. Can you come here now?" Sora asked, "I'm here at my parents' house. Come and see me, oppa."

"I can't do that, Princess. Oppa has a schedule later at 7AM. We will be doing a photoshoot for a print ad. I will just see you after that, alright?" Leeteuk said,

"Andwae. If you won't come and see me right now, you won't see me ever. I won't show my face to you anymore." Sora whined angrily,

"Sora-ya, what's wrong with you? Can't you understand that I have to work? I do promise to see you after that, right?" Leeteuk then said patiently,

"Why can't you understand that I just want to see you?! Don't you want to see me too? Am I not important to you? Do you have someone else?!" Sora blurted out,

"Mweo?! What are you saying? I don't have anyone else but you. You do know that already but you dare ask me these things? Yah, Kang Sora!" Leeteuk blurted out in return,

"No! Forget it! Don't come here anymore. I don't want to see you. Don't you dare call me too!" Sora said and hung up on Leeteuk,

"What's with her? She's telling me that she wants to see me and changes her mind and saying she doesn't?" Leeteuk asked himself while staring at his phone.

Leeteuk walked in the kitchen and grabbed a glass of water to clear his head when he heard someone entered the kitchen too, it was Heechul who was spending the night at the dorm, taking a vacation from the army,

"Leeteuk hyung, didn't you get your sleep yet?" Heechul asked him, "I thought you have early schedules later?"

"I woke up with the sound of my phone. How about you? Aren't you going back later too?" Leeteuk asked his nine-day dongsaeng.

"Ne. But I've been hearing your voice from my room and it looks like you were arguing with someone. Is there something wrong?" Heechul asked him,

"Aniyo, it's just that Sora-ya got mad at me earlier. She told me that she wants to see me but due to the schedules that we have I told her I'm going to see her afterwards then she got mad." Leeteuk said and sighed,

"Have you asked Sora-ya about it? Is there something going on with her?" Heechul asked again with concern.

He remembered Sora when they were just starting with Super Junior, she was always spending time with Jiyeon back then and he was fond of her even before. He was even glad when he learned about her relationship with his hyung. He treats Sora like a little sister just like how he is with Jiyeon.

"I did but everytime I do, she ends up getting flustered and shout at me. I really don't know what to do with her these days. There are times that she's really sweet and then she changes her mood the next. It's as if she has split personality or something." Leeteuk answered,

"Mweo? You mean she's quite moody these days?" Heechul asked and thought, "Hyung, when was the last time you spent the night together?" Heechul suddenly asked Leeteuk that made him burst the water he's drinking,

"Mweo?! Yah, Kim Heechul, that's something that I won't tell to anyone and none of you will know about it. Mind your own business, will you?" Leeteuk said to him,

"I have no other reason for asking, Leeteuk-ah. I was just thinking that Sora-ya might be..." Heechul tried explaining but was cut off with the sound of Leeteuk's phone, which he had no choice but to answer. It was Sora's father,

"Yoboseyo, Abeoji?" Leeteuk greeted as he answered his phone,

"Ah, Leeteuk-ssi. Eodi ya?" Sora's father asked,

"I'm here at the dorm right now. Is there something the matter?" Leeteuk asked him,

"Quite. You see mother and I are staying with Sora right now and she woke both of us up crying." Sora's father informed Leeteuk, "She said that you don't want to see her anymore and you have someone else now. Is this true?"

"Aniyo, abeoji. I told her that I will pay her a visit after my work but she got mad at me after that. She insisted that I have to see her now but I have a schedule this morning though." Leeteuk explained,

"Is that so? It seems like our teokki is a bit in a mood today. She seems to be all over the place complaining about everything she sees." Sora's father commented,

"Has she been like that eversince this morning, abeoji?" Leeteuk asked again,

"Ani. She's been acting a bit weird since the night of the dinner. Actually since that morning. Her mother had a hard time waking her up and she felt lazy all morning then she complained at breakfast too. And now she's inside our room with her mom and telling us she wants to see you." Sora's father said, "Can you just drop by and see Sora before going to work, Leeteuk-ssi?"

"I'll try to ask permission to our manager if I can be late for work today. I'll drop by your house if I do." Leeteuk said to Sora's father, "She's not sick or anything like that, isn't she?" Leeteuk asked again,

"Aniyo. We already checked but she seemed fine. It must be the time of the month or something, you know." Sora's father said and grinned, "While you're at it, Leeteuk-ssi, would you mind bringing Sora some pomelo and mangoes. She's asking for it." Sora's dad said before hanging up the phone,

"Wha? Pomelo? Where will I get that in this time of the morning?" Leeteuk asked himself,

"How about trying the market hyung? You might find what you're looking for there." Heechul commented and snickered at Leeteuk,

"Market? Do you think I can freely walk there without being recognized?" Leeteuk reasoned out,

"Well, that's better than your fiancee being mad at you until who knows when, right? Go get your out of here and do some shopping, Park Jungsoo!" Heechul yelled slightly and left Leeteuk alone in the kitchen.

Leeteuk can't do anything but get out of the dorm and rushed to the nearest market to buy what Sora's father asked for. Some of the vendors tried to pinpoint who he is but he denied that he is Leeteuk of Super Junior.

He reached Sora's parent's house after an hour and was welcomed by Sora's father with a hug, "Thanks for coming, Leeteuk-ssi. I know that she's just denying it but she really likes to see you."

They saw Sora inside her parents room and watching the videos of Super Junior on television, "My husband is really handsome, right mom?" Leeteuk heard Sora say, unaware of his presence in the room,

Leeteuk can't help but smile upon hearing what Sora told her mother and can't stop himself from commenting to it, "Should I get jealous of myself because of that, Baby Princess?"

"Oppa! What are you doing here? Didn't I tell you I don't want to see you?!" Sora said when she saw Leeteuk,

"Should I believe that after what you said to your mom just now? Don't you want to see your future husband?" Leeteuk said as he sauntered to Sora, "And I also have something for you too. Father told me you're asking for them, so I bought them for you." Leeteuk continued as he showed her the plastic of fruits,

"Really?" Sora said excitedly and grabbed the plastic at Leeteuk's hand, "Open them for me, oppa. Would you please?" Sora asked while smiling at Leeteuk,

"Ah, Sora, you're always acting like a baby when Leeteuk-ssi is around. I wonder when will I see you taking care of him." Sora's father commented while looking at the two of them,

"Gwenchanayo, abeoji. I don't mind doing these things for her." Leeteuk said and gave a portion of the pomelo to Sora which she gladly took a bite and told Leeteuk to have some too which he obliged,

"Yah, is it really alright for you to eat that early in the morning, yeobo?" Leeteuk asked as he bit on his portion of the pomelo,

"Ne. It's alright. I'm really craving for this today and..." Sora was not able to finish her words because she rushed towards the sink and bowed her head unto it,

Leeteuk was surprised and just stared at Sora with his eyes wide open, "Sora-ya, don't tell me you're..."

The Fading of Bright Stars

In the years we shared work spaces, seldom did our hours crossed. She worked night shifts, while I move around across different time zones to meet the demands of my profession. She was a luminary; a survivor of countless excisions when the demands of work is lesser than what is required of human resources. And if not for the months-long infirmity last year, she would have endured the most recent culling. She became part of the statistics, only to return when a colleague flew abroad to get married and live with her fiancé.

A fine lady in her early 30's, one would easily mistake her for an East Asian. Her eyes disappear when she smiles, and her porcelain skin is the envy of many. Her gauntly frame, albeit a cause of concern, hardly bothers any. Colleagues would tell she eats nothing but Chippy and Coke. But who are we to forbid her of such pleasures? She delivers, and for all we care, satisfied are we of her job performance.

Talk is an avocation the two of us hardly engage. Reason lies in office hierarchy, but more so, because we respect each other's solitary leanings. But this doesn't mean ambivalence, or hidden disdain. Words may have never articulated what my thoughts were, but I've always regarded her in high esteem.
