The Baby Is Now A Lady

An Angel's Promise To The Sky

"Is it really you, Sora-ya?" Leeteuk asked again, still can't believe that the goddess in front of him and his Baby Princess is the same.

"Yes Hyukchul oppa. It's me, Sora. My Jungsoo oppa's baby princess." Sora replied and giggled at Leeteuk,

"What are you doing here, oppa? Where's my Prince?" Sora then asked, smiling and giving Leeteuk a seductive look that's making him blush beet red, then he remembered he's in disguise.

"Leeteuk said he can't make it, so he asked me to come for him instead. Do you mind that, Sora-ya?" Leeteuk answered with a neardy voice, playing along with Sora, that made Jiyeon and JB laugh,

"Stop that, you too. You're giving us goosebumps!" Jiyeon replied and act squirmed.

"Hyung, are you going to come with us like that?" JB asked, referring to the disguise Leeteuk has on,

"Yes. I don't mind that at all." Leeteuk said and stared at Sora again, he really missed his Baby Princess. He thinks about her everytime he's alone and when he sees something that he can link to Sora.

Just like when he and Eunhyuk went to a jewelry store.

*** Flasback ***

Leeteuk and Eunhyuk are looking around when Leeteuk saw a white gold band infinity ring with little diamonds on it.

He asked the saleslady to take it out from the glass shelf and she took the tray where the ring was placed,

He was staring at the ring, imagining Sora is wearing the ring when he heard Eunhyuk speak,

"Wow! That's a nice ring, hyung. Are you going to get that for Jiyeon-ah?" he said, looking at the ring as well

"Sora." he replied, not looking away from the ring.

"Sora-ssi?" Eunhyuk asked then he whistled,

"You really do love her, hyung. Don't you?", then Eunhyuk showed his gummy smile to his hyung.

"Yes."

*** End of Flashback ***

"Let's go then, oppa. Manager oppa might get mad at me if I don't return fast." Sora told him and stood up from the chair and extended her hand to Leeteuk, while the other two are just steps ahead of them.

He smiled at his Baby Princess, "I miss you, yeobo." he then said and held Sora's hand and squeezed it tightly before getting off his seat.

Sora smiled at her yeobo and said, "I miss you too, yeobo", then turned her head down to hide her face from blushing.

"Yeobo-ya, doesn't oppa get a welcome back kiss from his princess?" Leeteuk asked Sora and pulled her closer to him, ready to give her a kiss.

"Omo! Look at that. He is one lucky guy to have a girlfriend as beautiful as her." They both heard someone say near their table.",

"Hey, lady! Is this really your boyfriend? He's a nerd. I'm far more better looking than him." the guy told the two of them that caused Leeteuk to change mood but Sora held his hand tighter,

"Yes, sir. This is my boyfriend and I don't care whatever he looks like right now because I'm sure he's far more better than you are. More than what you think." Sora said and pulled Leeteuk with her to go out of the restaurant.

"Wow! I didn't know you became a tough girl while I was gone." Leeteuk commented and smiled at Sora,

"Oppa, that guy didn't know who you really are and he has the guts to tell those things to you? I won't let anyone badmouth the person I love." Sora said angrily, "Arrgh! I hate those kind of people."

"Arasso. We will protect each other. Oppa is here now, I'm going to protect you too." Leeteuk said and pulled her close to give her a kiss on her forehead.

And the infinity ring that Leeteuk bought for Sora sits inside his pocket, just waiting for the right time to be given.

The Fading of Bright Stars

In the years we shared work spaces, seldom did our hours crossed. She worked night shifts, while I move around across different time zones to meet the demands of my profession. She was a luminary; a survivor of countless excisions when the demands of work is lesser than what is required of human resources. And if not for the months-long infirmity last year, she would have endured the most recent culling. She became part of the statistics, only to return when a colleague flew abroad to get married and live with her fiancé.

A fine lady in her early 30's, one would easily mistake her for an East Asian. Her eyes disappear when she smiles, and her porcelain skin is the envy of many. Her gauntly frame, albeit a cause of concern, hardly bothers any. Colleagues would tell she eats nothing but Chippy and Coke. But who are we to forbid her of such pleasures? She delivers, and for all we care, satisfied are we of her job performance.

Talk is an avocation the two of us hardly engage. Reason lies in office hierarchy, but more so, because we respect each other's solitary leanings. But this doesn't mean ambivalence, or hidden disdain. Words may have never articulated what my thoughts were, but I've always regarded her in high esteem.
