Family Feud?

An Angel's Promise To The Sky

"NOONA, you can't tell me who or not to like. Sora is my girlfriend now and I'm not planning to change anything about my relationship with her." Leeteuk said calmly, glanced at Sora and smiled,

"And what you are going to do with Taeyeon-ah?" In Young asked her brother and knotted her head, "She told me that she came back from Paris just to get you back and I don't see anything wrong if you rekindle your  relationship with her. I like her for you." In Young continued,

"In Young eonnie is right, jagiya. You and I look good together. I'm sure that we are going to be the talk of the town. Everyone will be envious." Taeyeon said and smiled at Leeteuk that made him frown,

"Taeyeon-ssi, if you like to be in the news, count me out. I've been to a lot of scandals created by those damn reporters and I've had enough of them, thank you very much." Leeteuk said, "I'm satisfied with what I have right now and I don't want anything to mess with it." he then said, "...or anyone. Even my sister."

"What do you mean by that, Jungsoo-ya? You're not going to follow what I'm telling you?" In Young asked Leeteuk, "I only want the best for you, brother and I think that is Taeyeon, both of you have known each other since you guys are in high school."

"Noona, that was already a decade ago. Ages!" Leeteuk complained, "A lot of things have happened these years that you don't know about, noona. So please stop being a match maker. Both of you can't bring the past back!" Leeteuk said before taking Sora's hand and head for the door,

"Park Jungsoo! You and Taeyeon were in love with each other. You can't erase that kind of feeling just like that!" In Young yelled that alerted the people inside the Park's home,

"Noona, you have said so yourself. We were in love. Meaning that love belongs to the past now. Don't push it, noona. I'm tired being chased around by that woman." Leeteuk said, "I'm really glad that you're back, noona but I don't like what you're doing though. See you."

"Jamkkanmanyo, where are you going?" Mrs. Park asked, "Aren't you going to stay here for the night? I thought you are going to spend the night with us."

"Ne, omma. That was my plan, but I think I have to change my mind and stay at the dorm instead." Leeteuk let Sora's hand go and sauntered to his mom, "I'll just see you when I can. I don't want to clash with noona tonight." Leeteuk then said, "I'll just drop Sora to their home and I'll go back to the dorm."

"But we miss you here, Jungsoo. It's really rare now that you're home." Mrs. Park said, saddened. "I thought of making your favorites tonight since you told us that you're going to stay here for the night."

"Oppa, do you know that omma was really excited when you called? She even dragged me to do a last minute shopping just for you." Jiyeon said, "Eventhough we went to the supermarket yesterday." she whined,

"Yah, Jiyeon-ah! You're making me feel so guilty now." Leeteuk said and made face to his younger sister, "Then I guess I have no choice but to have dinner here tonight." he said and embraced his mom then turned to Sora, "Yeobo-ya, let's have our dinner here before going home."

"See, jagiya? Your son can't refuse you, so cheer up now, will you?" Mr. Park told his wife, "Yah, Inyoung-ah, Jungsoo-ya, don't argue in front of the table. Arasso?" Mr. Park said that made both of his children nod,

Mrs. Park prepared a Korean feast for the family. A platter of samgyupsal, steamed white rice, dokkbokki. kimchi, and bolgogi.

"Omo, there's a lot of food." Leeteuk said excitedly, "I think I'll have a hard time burning those again in the gym." he said and grinned,

"Jungsoo, you better eat up and forget your diets and workouts for now. I know that you don't get to eat home cooked meals often." Mrs. Park said, smiling at her excited son,

"Ne." Leeteuk answered and got some of the food to Sora's plate and served her, "Yeobo-ya, you should eat up too. My mom's dishes are the best."

"Oppa, don't put too much food on my plate. I will have a hard time working out as well if I eat too much." Sora said shyly,

"Yeah, she's right Leeteuk. You should not put too much put on her plate 'coz she won't be able to pursue her modelling career if she gets too fat." Taeyeon said and smirked,

"Taeyeon-ah, don't start." Leeteuk said and glared at her,

"Sora-ya, do you know that our Jungsoo really eats a lot when he's at home?" Mr. Park commented while looking at Leeteuk and Sora, "He eats like a construction worker when he's here... Next to Jiyeon, of course." he said that made Leeteuk blush and the others laugh,

"Honestly, I forget my diet when I'm here 'coz mom really prepare all my favorite dishes just like tonight and of course, In Young noona is here too that's why we're having a feast. So eat up, yeobo-ya."

"If Leeteuk forgets his diet all the time, he will be as big as Dong... who's that big guy in Super Junior? Is it Donghae?" Taeyeon asked that received a glare from Leeteuk,

"You're talking about Shindong." Leeteuk said blankly, "Shindong works out with us too, so he's not as big as before."

"Shindong oppa is the one who sat with me at the fashion show before. He's really great! He made me laugh a lot when he was talking with me before." Sora said when she remembered Shindong during the fashion show.

"Whoever that is. I only remember Jongwoon, Hyukjae and Hannie. I just know that there's someone who's not fit in Super Junior." Taeyeon commented and shrugged her shoulders, "If you eat too much, Leeteuk. You will be as big as that."

"I don't see anything wrong with that though, Taeyeon eonnie." Jiyeon said, "I find Shindong oppa really cute though and he's really fun to be with too." she said then turned to Sora, "Right, Sora eonnie?" and she winked,

"Yes. I really enjoy my time whenever I'm with Suju oppas." Sora replied and smiled, "But of course I enjoy it more when I'm with Jungsoo oppa." she said and giggled that made Leeteuk blush red,

"But what if Jungsoo oppa loses the body that he has?" Leeteuk then asked cutely, "Will you still like me?"

"Of course, oppa. I won't mind that at all. I think it will be better for me if you gain some weight, so other girls will leave you alone." Sora said and smiled then glanced at Taeyeon.

The Fading of Bright Stars

In the years we shared work spaces, seldom did our hours crossed. She worked night shifts, while I move around across different time zones to meet the demands of my profession. She was a luminary; a survivor of countless excisions when the demands of work is lesser than what is required of human resources. And if not for the months-long infirmity last year, she would have endured the most recent culling. She became part of the statistics, only to return when a colleague flew abroad to get married and live with her fiancé.

A fine lady in her early 30's, one would easily mistake her for an East Asian. Her eyes disappear when she smiles, and her porcelain skin is the envy of many. Her gauntly frame, albeit a cause of concern, hardly bothers any. Colleagues would tell she eats nothing but Chippy and Coke. But who are we to forbid her of such pleasures? She delivers, and for all we care, satisfied are we of her job performance.

Talk is an avocation the two of us hardly engage. Reason lies in office hierarchy, but more so, because we respect each other's solitary leanings. But this doesn't mean ambivalence, or hidden disdain. Words may have never articulated what my thoughts were, but I've always regarded her in high esteem.
