Leftovers?!

An Angel's Promise To The Sky
"ANNYEONG haseyo, Sora-ssi." Taeyeon greeted Sora as she passed her by the corridor, "Are you just going to ignore me, dongsaeng?" she then asked,

"No, I just don't see something important that we can talk about, Taeyeon eonnie." Sora said firmly and continued to walk away from her,

"Were you saddened when Leeteuk-ssi broke up with you? I know that's what he did to protect the others. How does it feel not to be chosen by the one you love?" Taeyeon asked and smirked mockingly at Sora,

Sora calmed herself down before facing Taeyeon, "Why don't you ask that yourself, eonnie? Isn't that what you did when you chose going to Paris rather than being with Jungsoo oppa?" Sora then asked her back,

"What did you -- ?" Taeyeon just uttered but Sora held her gaze firmly and looked straight at Taeyeon,

"Why? Didn't I hear the news right? They were saying that you chose to study in Paris rather than being with Jungsoo oppa " Sora said to her,

"I did that because that's the right thing to do!" Taeyeon argued,

"Well, didn't it occur to you that Jungsoo oppa will do something for the two of you if you chose him and keep his group with him? That only goes to show that you didn't trust him enough to fulfill his dreams and yours." Sora said calmly,

"I admit that but look at you now though. I'm guessing that he's choosing his bandmates over you, Sora-ssi. He just did to you what I did to him. You're not that important to him." Taeyeon said while looking at Sora and gave her a sullen glance, "He doesn't love you like what you thought he would."

"Those kind of things doesn't matter and what were having right now in this relationship doesn't concern you either, so I suggest you stay out of it." Sora answered Taeyeon firmly while looking straight at her,

"Of course that does concern me. I'll be taking him back now that he's off your hands, Sora-ssi." Taeyeon just said and smiled at Sora,

"Hmm... I didn't know you like someone's leftovers, Taeyeon eonnie. But what makes you think that Jungsoo oppa will come back to you?"

"I'll make him come back to me, I'm sure he won't be able to resist me, Sora-ssi. I know what will make him love me again." Taeyeon said and smiled wickedly at Sora,

"But as what I've known from Jungsoo oppa, he doesn't take back the people whom he doesn't like to be with him and I think I have heard him a lot of times when he told you that he doesn't like to have you back in his life." Sora answered her back.

"I can change that, my dear dongsaeng. Specially now that you're out of the way. You see, Lee Soo Man doesn't like your relationship with Leeteuk that's why he ordered him to break the relationship you have and now Leeteuk is free to be with me."

"Now I understand. It was you who told their chairman about our relationship for you to have Jungsoo oppa by yourself. I get it now and oppa is right, you really are a selfish woman." Sora said and grinned at Taeyeon,

"Selfish or not, I always get what I want, Sora-ssi and now I want Leeteuk back in my life and no one will stop me from doing that." Taeyeon said angrily to Sora,

"Arasso, arasso. Do whatever you wish, Taeyeon eonnie. I just hope that you will be happy with Jungsoo oppa eventhough you know he doesn't love you anymore." Sora said and smiled at Taeyeon before walking away from her,

"Are you just going to say that and let me have your Jungsoo oppa that easily? I never thought you're an easy opponent." Taeyeon said, feeling confident of herself

"Huh? Isn't that what you want? And you also told me yourself that no one can stop you to have Jungsoo oppa. Then I'll let you have him then, Taeyeon eonnie. Enjoy my leftovers!" Sora said and waved at Taeyeon while walking away from her,

Sora saw Sungmin and Jinwoon walking briskly towards her when she saw them at the hallway, "Sora-ssi!" they said in unison as they approached her,

"Gwenchana?" Jinwoon said and looked at Sora with worried eyes, "We saw you having an argument with that woman back there. Who is she?"

"She's Kim Taeyeon. She's Leeteuk hyung's ex-girlfriend. She left him before we started at the group and now she's back to piss hyung off." Sungmin said while looking at Taeyeon,

Sungmin then turned to Sora, "Are you really alright? Did that woman do something to you, Sora-ssi?"

"Sounds like a bad woman to me." Jinwoon stated, "Why don't we just get out of here and leave her alone?"

"Chamkanman, I'll just call Leeteuk hyung then we can go to dinner." Sungmin said, but was stopped by Sora,

"Aniyo, oppa. Let's just leave Jungsoo oppa behind. I don't want others to see us together." Sora said and turned her head down,

"Wae? Did something happen? Did hyung tell you why he was down lately?" Sungmin asked continuously but Sora just shook her head, not telling anything to Leeteuk's dongsaeng.

"What are you guys doing standing at the hallway?" Leeteuk asked while looking at the group curiously,

"Hyung! Taeyeon... She --" Sungmin uttered and looked between Taeyeon was and Leeteuk,

"Ahh! Don't mind that woman. She's a major headache. Did something happen?" Leeteuk asked the group,

"Taeyeon talked to Sora and --" Sungmin tried to say but Sora stopped him,

"I'm fine. Nothing bad happened to me, Leeteuk-ssi." Sora said and looked straight at Leeteuk,

"That's good, Sora-ssi." Leeteuk calmly answered,

"LEETEUK-SSI!!!!" Jinwoon and Sungmin yelled in unison,

"What happened to Jungsoo oppa?! You never call Leeteuk hyung Leeteuk!" Jinwoon asked the two of them while exchanging his glances between Leeteuk and Sora,

"Hyung, what's with that? No yeobo? Sora-ya? No more Baby Princess? Only Sora-ssi?!" Sungmin asked simultaneously,

"Ani... just Sora-ssi." Leeteuk answered while walking past them,

"Waaee? Hyung!" Sungmin slightly ran to be beside of their leader while Sora and Jinwoon are left behind,

"That's because I'm only Sora-ssi's leftover." Leeteuk said, smiled and winked at his Baby Princess.

The Fading of Bright Stars

In the years we shared work spaces, seldom did our hours crossed. She worked night shifts, while I move around across different time zones to meet the demands of my profession. She was a luminary; a survivor of countless excisions when the demands of work is lesser than what is required of human resources. And if not for the months-long infirmity last year, she would have endured the most recent culling. She became part of the statistics, only to return when a colleague flew abroad to get married and live with her fiancé.

A fine lady in her early 30's, one would easily mistake her for an East Asian. Her eyes disappear when she smiles, and her porcelain skin is the envy of many. Her gauntly frame, albeit a cause of concern, hardly bothers any. Colleagues would tell she eats nothing but Chippy and Coke. But who are we to forbid her of such pleasures? She delivers, and for all we care, satisfied are we of her job performance.

Talk is an avocation the two of us hardly engage. Reason lies in office hierarchy, but more so, because we respect each other's solitary leanings. But this doesn't mean ambivalence, or hidden disdain. Words may have never articulated what my thoughts were, but I've always regarded her in high esteem.
