Lovely Day

An Angel's Promise To The Sky

SORA woke up, feeling something heavy on top of her. She slowly opened her eyes and saw Leeteuk's arm encircling her body, "Jungsoo oppa's face is really handsome. He looks so peaceful when asleep." she uttered while staring at Leeteuk's face,

Sora slowly lifted Leeteuk's arm from her after giving her boyfriend a soft peck on his cheek and head to the telephone desk. She called in for a room service for the two of them. After that, she head to the bathroom and took a quick shower.

Leeteuk slowly opened his eyes when he heard the sound of the shower running, "Sora-ya..." he sleepily called and touched the bed beside him and only felt the sheets by his touch, "Yeobo-ya? Where are you?"

"Wait a minute. I'll be coming out!" Sora shouted from the inside and Leeteuk waited for another 5 minutes before he heard the bathroom door open.

He slowly opened his eyes and saw Sora wearing a robe like last night and Leeteuk can smell the shower gel she used, "Sora-ya, come here." he said sleepily and tapped the empty space beside him,

"Oppa, let me change first and then we can eat our breakfast. I ordered some food for the two of us," Sora said and started to walk towards the closet which was near Leeteuk's side of the bed,

But she was not able too because Leeteuk pulled her with him to the bed and snuggled her up, resting his face on her neck and held her tight. "Let's just stay like this for a while, yeobo. Jebal." Leeteuk pleaded her,

"But oppa, I need to dry up properly. It's getting really cold." Sora complained,

"Then should I warm you up then, Sora-ya?" Leeteuk sleepily asked, "It seems like you are up for it since last night." he teased Sora that made her eyes widen,

"Oppa! That's not what I meant!" Sora shrieked, and Leeteuk just grinned at her,

"Ne, I know. I'm just teasing you, yeobo." Leeteuk said, "But I have to admit you smell really good." he continued and gave her a peck on her neck, "Is this how you smell every morning, Princess?" he said and positioned half of his body on top of her, "I think I have to take back what I said earlier," he said softly and started kissing Sora on her lips and feel the softness of Sora's skin with his touch,

Then they heard the doorbell rang that made Sora immediately got up from the bed while Leeteuk pouted and sighed, "Aish! You are disturbing the moment!" Leeteuk said, slightly louder than his usual voice and Sora just grinned when she heard it,

They were having eggs, bacon and french toast for breakfast with two cups of steaming coffee placed neatly on a silver tray lined with a white sheet, "Do you want to tour around first before heading back to Seoul, yeobo?" Leeteuk asked after feeding Sora some toast,

"But oppa, don't you have any schedule today? We should head home fast." Sora said, concerned about Leeteuk's busy schedule. She is now well aware on how really busy her boyfriend is and how precious the moments are when he made time to call or even see her,

"Aniyo, I can use some time for you. My schedules are going to be this afternoon so we can spend the morning together." Leeteuk said and smiled at her, "So, where do you want to go?"

Sora became excited and immediately finished their breakfast. She opened the closet to find something to wear but sulk when she found out that she only have the night gowns in her closet, "Yeobo-ya, we can't go out." She said to Leeteuk when she sat next to him on the bed, "I don't have casual clothes with me. All I have are night gowns for last night's ceremony. Ottoke, oppa!" She pouted and Leeteuk just smiled,

"Aigoo, you don't have to sulk, yeobo." Leeteuk said and held Sora's head, letting it lie on his shoulder, "What did you wear on your way here before the ceremony? I suppose you didn't wear a gown, did you?" he asked her, grinning.

"Of course, oppa. I wore a pair of jeans and my pink shirt on my way here." Sora said and Leeteuk smiled, raising both of his eyebrows. "Wait a minute, you're not telling me to wear them again, are you, Park Jungsoo?"

"Wae? Wae? What's wrong with that?" Leeteuk asked, "I'm sure your clothes didn't smell awful after wearing it 'coz you changed on your gown after that right?" Leeteuk explained, "Just wait for me while I take a shower and change your clothes." he said,

"Oppa-ya! I don't want to wear my clothes again." Sora whined, "It's really unhygienic and I'm sure I'll feel awkward being beside you." Sora said and turned her head down,

"Arasso. Do you want to wear one of mine instead?" Leeteuk asked and smiled at Sora. He opened his backpack and brought out a white long sleeved shirt then placed it beside Sora, "Change, yeobo-ya. We have to make most of the time we have together." he said and went to the bathroom to give himself a shower.

Sora wore Leeteuk's shirt and folded the sleeve up to her elbows with her denim jeans and a pair of red  rubber shoes. Leeteuk also wore a white shirt, jeans and rubber shoes as well. "Waah! Look at you, yeobo. You are so beautiful!" Leeteuk complimented, "And we match too."

Leeteuk put a baseball cap on top of Sora's head before taking her hand to get out of the hotel room, "Let's try to see the Heundae Beach and wait there until the sun fully rises. What can you say about that?" he asked and Sora excitedly nodded,

"It's still early for the beach to be crowded so we still have time to walk by the seashore." Leeteuk said and he guided Sora on their way to the beach until they find a nice spot under a tree, "Sora-ya, do you remember the last time we went to the the beach together?"

"Ne." Sora answered and laughed, remembering how she opened her feelings to Leeteuk back then thinking that he was Hyukchul, "Oppa, do you think we can have a time like that again? Just like talking without rushing and just enjoy the sceneries like this?"

"Of course, yeobo. We will come back here when we get the chance." Leeteuk said and held Sora's hand, cupping it with both of his. "I promised you that I will bring you to the places that you want to go to and I will never leave your side. How's that?" Leeteuk asked and smiled at Sora,

"Assa! I'm up for it, oppa." Sora said excitedly. Leeteuk then pulled her up from where they sat walked her towards the beach until they both feel the soft waves of water on their feet, “Yeobo, I wish we can always be like this. Just being together and not thinking about anything.”

“Ne, we will try to take some break once in a while when we get a chance, Sora-ya.” Leeteuk said and lifted his pinky finger, “Promise.” Sora imitated Leeteuk and they intertwined their fingers together to seal it, he then gave a smack on Sora’s lips and smiled.

They chased each other in the seaside and fooled around after that. The beach was starting to fill up when Leeteuk asked Sora to go back to the hotel to prepare their things.

They were at the entrance of the hotel when they saw Won Bin together with a lady whose back are facing them,

“Oh! Sora-ssi, annyeong haseyo. Seems like you went out last night and cozied up with that guy.” Won Bin commented, “Did you have a wild night last night, Sora-ssi?” he said and stared at Sora maliciously,

“Bwoh?! What are you trying to say?” Leeteuk asked angrily and glared at Won Bin, “Don’t talk that way to Sora! Are you asking for it?!”

“Oppa, don’t fight here.  You will get too much attention.” Sora said and held Leeteuk’s arm tightly, pulling him away from Won Bin,

“Why are you pulling him, Sora-ssi? Let him hear how I fantasize about you every night ever since I saw you on the photos that you did with Taeyeon.” Won Bin said and grinned while his lips, “You really are y. You know that do you?”

“Ahh! You really are asking for it, you bastard!” Leeteuk said angrily and briskly walked towards Won Bin and Sora didn’t get the chance to pull him back. Leeteuk was stunned when he saw the girl beside Won Bin who was smiling at him,

“Don’t you like that, Leeteuk? Someone is admiring your girlfriend.” Taeyeon said and raised on of her eyebrows, “Hello, Leeteuk. It’s nice to see you again.”

The Fading of Bright Stars

In the years we shared work spaces, seldom did our hours crossed. She worked night shifts, while I move around across different time zones to meet the demands of my profession. She was a luminary; a survivor of countless excisions when the demands of work is lesser than what is required of human resources. And if not for the months-long infirmity last year, she would have endured the most recent culling. She became part of the statistics, only to return when a colleague flew abroad to get married and live with her fiancé.

A fine lady in her early 30's, one would easily mistake her for an East Asian. Her eyes disappear when she smiles, and her porcelain skin is the envy of many. Her gauntly frame, albeit a cause of concern, hardly bothers any. Colleagues would tell she eats nothing but Chippy and Coke. But who are we to forbid her of such pleasures? She delivers, and for all we care, satisfied are we of her job performance.

Talk is an avocation the two of us hardly engage. Reason lies in office hierarchy, but more so, because we respect each other's solitary leanings. But this doesn't mean ambivalence, or hidden disdain. Words may have never articulated what my thoughts were, but I've always regarded her in high esteem.
