Understanding You

An Angel's Promise To The Sky

"OPPA..." Sora uttered while Leeteuk sauntered closer towards her,

"Oh, Leeteuk-ssi. You're here too." Seungho greeted him and Leeteuk just nodded at him without taking his eyes on Sora,

"Leeteuk hyung, they are just.." Jinwoon said trying to explain to Leeteuk when he suddenly spoke,

"Annyeong haseyo, Sora-ssi. Were you watching the show?" Leeteuk said sounding indifferent to Sora,

"Annyeong haseyo, Leeteuk-ssi. I'm just here to see Jinwoon-ssi." Sora replied, sounding indifferent as well while looking at Leeteuk,

I miss you, yeobo...

I miss you too, oppa...

"Leeteuk hyung, that's not..." Jinwoon was trying to explain again,

"Oh, really? I hope you did enjoy the show though." Leeteuk said again,

"Yes, I did. Thanks so much for asking, Leeteuk-ssi."

But their friendly greeting to each other is different from what they really want to do since their eyes met,

Their eye contact was broken when they heard Seungho spoke, "Oh yeah, you're with Leeteuk-ssi on WGM, right?"

The two of them nodded and smiled at each other but that didn't reach their sad eyes,

"So, Sora-ssi. Do you mind going out with me and have dinner later? Let's grab something to eat." Seungho then said,

"Seungho-ssi, I think Sora-ssi has other plans for tonigh-" Jinwoon was about to say but Sora spoke,

"No, Jinwoon-ah. I haven't been with Seungho lately. I don't mind having dinner and besides Bora and Hyorin eonnie likes to spend their time with you." Sora said,

I don't want the others to think that I'm refusing because oppa's here. Besides, Hyorin eonnie and Bora eonnie might tease me again about Jungsoo oppa like earlier if I refuse

"Sora-ssi, you don't have to do this, you know." Jinwoon said while slightly glancing at Leeteuk,

"I don't have to do what?" Sora asked, "I really want to go with you guys and spend time with you."

Mweo? She's still going? Has she forgotten about what I told her not to go out with anyone but me? Ahh! This woman is really asking for trouble!

"Wait, do you have something that you have to do for tonight? Do you have any other plans?" Seungho asked, confused on the conversation between Jinwoon and Sora,

Sora faced Seungho, "No, I don't, Seungho-ssi. You don't have to -"

"Oh yes you have, Princess." Leeteuk suddenly said that startled the others upon hearing his voice, "And you're going with me." Leeteuk continued and pulled Sora away from the others going to the dressing room intended for the Super Junior members.

Eunhyuk slightly greeted Sora when he saw her enter the room being pulled by his hyung, Sora on the other hand can't do anything but nod at Eunhyuk as they passed by him,

Leeteuk dragged Sora inside the waiting area and locked the door as soon as they entered the room, he shoved her to the couch that made Sora sit in an instant,

"What were you doing?!" Leeteuk said, restraining the anger rising from him,

"What was I doing? What are you doing?" Sora asked him back, having the same emotion on as Leeteuk for what he did.

"I pulled you away from Seungho and Jinwoon, that's what I did. You, Kang Sora-ssi, what were you doing?"

"I just accepted the dinner invitation Seungho offered." Sora answered casually,

"Geuraeseo?" Leeteuk said again,

"And? What do you want me to say?" Sora asked again,

Leeteuk kneeled in front of Sora and spoke gently, "Sora-ya, you do know my stand on you spending time with other guys, right? You know I don't  like that. Why did you agree?" he asked,

"But it's just going to be a friendly date and nothing else." Sora then said looked straight at Leeteuk's, she noticed that he has gotten thinner since the last time she saw him,

"Yeobo, jebal...kajima..." Leeteuk pleaded,

"I think there's something even more important that we have to talk about than this." Sora then said, "Jungsoo oppa..."

Leeteuk looked straight at Sora's face, looking at her with questioning eyes,

"Why didn't you tell me?" Sora asked that made Leeteuk confused,

"Tell you?"

"Why didn't you tell me about your problem, oppa? Sungmin oppa said to me that you are having some problems lately." Sora said and touched his face with her hand,

"Sora-ya... I.."

"He told me that you haven't been yourself these past few days and you only left me a letter not really telling me anything but to believe in you. We share each other's problems now, don't we? I'm your other half you said and you should tell me anything what you feel too." Sora told Leeteuk and he just touched her hand and feeling the warmth of Sora on his cheek,

"Yeobo-ya, I can't see you. I'm not supposed to meet you." Leeteuk said with difficulty on saying his words, his emotions catching up with him,

"Wae?" Sora asked back, her eyes starting to get wet with tears,

"As much as I want to be with you, I can't or else..." Leeteuk said,

"A - are we breaking up then? Am I not going to see you anymore?" Sora asked, now her tears are flowing down on her face,

"Sora, no! I'm  not breaking up with you. I won't do such a thing! I love you so much to let you go. You know that well, right?"Leeteuk then said and kissed Sora's hand over and over,

"I know oppa, but didn't you tell me that we should talk about these kind of situations together?" Sora said while looking at Leeteuk's helpless face,

"I know that but as I've told you in the letter I..." Leeteuk was about to say but his voice cracked because of the lump on his throat. He turned his back to Sora before she can see the tears on his eyes,

"... can't talk without getting emotional? Yeah, I got that but I don't care about it too. I want to talk to you, I don't want you to hide anything from me, oppa." Sora said,

"Mianhe. I really didn't know what I was getting into these past few days. I have been always thinking about you, on how to see you. I have been going to your apartment every night looking at you at the window, always thinking what you're doing, thinking if you're thinking about me..."

"Oppa, why didn't you just..." Sora said to him, wanting to see his face, hoping that he'll turn again,

"If they see me again coming to your place or someone caught me entering your door, they will immediately disband the group. I don't want anything to happen with my brothers, they are precious to me as much as you are. I don't want their dreams to be ruined because of me." Leeteuk said and sighed heavily,

Sora walked next to Leeteuk and hugged his back. Leeteuk held her hand on his waist tightly, "Bogoshippeo, yeobo-ya..." he then said softly, just loud enough for her to hear,

"Nado bogoshippeo, oppa." Sora replied to him,

Leeteuk turned to face Sora and held her tight, he then gave her soft kisses on her forehead.. to her eyes... to her nose... then to her cheeks... while saying "I miss you" each time,

"Oppa!" Sora then said and pouted at him,

Leeteuk smiled at Sora, now feeling lighter that she is beside him, "Wae?" he asked having a grin on his face,

Sora cupped Leeteuk's face with both of her hands before saying, "Well, I missed you too, you know?"

Sora then intiated a kiss on Leeteuk's lips and Leeteuk's lower lip with her tongue that caused him to part them and made  Sora have hers inside roaming on his mouth, searching for Leeteuk's tongue. Leeteuk replied with the same intensity and played with Sora's mouth, it inside  as if his life depended on it. They both stopped when they ran out of breath.

"I love you so much, Princess." Leeteuk said and gave her a kiss on her lips,

"I love you too, Park Jungsoo." Sora replied,

She was already smiling when she was walking back to where Jinwoon and the others are, thinking of the little charade she and Leeteuk planned to protect their brothers, when she spotted Taeyeon standing at the hallway looking at her.

The Fading of Bright Stars

In the years we shared work spaces, seldom did our hours crossed. She worked night shifts, while I move around across different time zones to meet the demands of my profession. She was a luminary; a survivor of countless excisions when the demands of work is lesser than what is required of human resources. And if not for the months-long infirmity last year, she would have endured the most recent culling. She became part of the statistics, only to return when a colleague flew abroad to get married and live with her fiancé.

A fine lady in her early 30's, one would easily mistake her for an East Asian. Her eyes disappear when she smiles, and her porcelain skin is the envy of many. Her gauntly frame, albeit a cause of concern, hardly bothers any. Colleagues would tell she eats nothing but Chippy and Coke. But who are we to forbid her of such pleasures? She delivers, and for all we care, satisfied are we of her job performance.

Talk is an avocation the two of us hardly engage. Reason lies in office hierarchy, but more so, because we respect each other's solitary leanings. But this doesn't mean ambivalence, or hidden disdain. Words may have never articulated what my thoughts were, but I've always regarded her in high esteem.
