Taeyeon's Situation

An Angel's Promise To The Sky

“IS this Taeyeon eonnie’s store? Couture d’Taeyeon?” Jiyeon asked as she scans her eyes on the whole rundown shop. “I thought that Taeyeon eonnie  is successful?”

“Don’t mind that now, Jiyeon-ah. Let’s just go and look at something else instead.” Sora told her and tried to pull Jiyeon away from the building,

“Is this the reason why she went back to Korea? She went bankrupt in Paris, and now she’s telling everyone there that she’s successful and faking it?” Jiyeon said again,

“Jiyeon-ah, geumanhae. Your anger won’t do anything about it and we don’t know what her reason was for going back.” Sora said again while looking at the old dress shop,

“I understand, Sora eonnie. But I’m telling you, if she bothers Jungsoo oppa again…” Jiyeon said but was not able to finish when Sora spoke.

“Jungsoo oppa is a different case. I will slap her with the truth if she pushes through with it.” Sora said,

“So please, don’t give yourself a headache and let’s just go. We can still find a lot of nice stores and I still have to find something to get for oppa. You better help me for that.” Sora said and winked at Jiyeon, this changed Jiyeon’s mood and walked away from the store.

They continued walking on the way to the Luxemburg Park when they came across a denim shop by the corner and Sora pulled Jiyeon inside,

They saw a wide array of Men’s clothing from denim jeans, leather jackets, belts and even boots. Sora saw a nice pale brown leather jacket and touched the garment against her hands, “Will Jungsoo oppa like you?” she uttered softly as if talking to the fabric,

“Can I help you, Miss?” the French saleslady asked in English, which startled Sora because since she haven’t heard someone spoke that language since she stepped out of the plane,

“Oh, yes. Can I have a medium size of this one?” Sora said and took the jacket off the rack; the saleslady went to the stockroom when she felt Jiyeon beside her,

“Is that what you’re going to give to Jungsoo oppa, eonnie?” Jiyeon asked while looking at the saleslady who was walking away from them with the garment,

Ne, the leather of that jacket is really soft. I think it will fit really well on Jungsoo oppa.” Sora said, “Jiyeon-ah, would you please let me pay for that though? I’m going to give it to oppa and I don’t want to…”

“Ne, arasso. But there’s a catch on that, Sora eonnie…” Jiyeon said and smiled mischievously at her,

“Catch? What’s the catch?” Sora asked,

“I will tell you later. But for now, let’s get busy shopping.”  Jiyeon said and went to the other racks on the store.

Meanwhile

“LeBlanc, where do you think would be the best restaurant to have dinner?” Leeteuk asked their tour guide while having a break from the photoshoot,

“That depends, Leeteuk. You can go to some of the fancy restaurants around the corner and you can also try hitting the less expensive diners too.” LeBlanc said, “Which one do you like to try? We can go and I’ll give you a tour.”

“No, no. I was thinking of something private, like a romantic dinner kind of thing.” Leeteuk said,

“There are lots of restaurants which you can choose but you have to get reservations on them or go there as early as you can. But you must reserve a week or two before your date to dine to those restaurants,” LeBlanc told Leeteuk and eyed him mischievously,

“Have you spotted a French woman to go out and have a date with?”

“A French woman? No. I’m going on a date with my wife. I think I would prefer to dine at the hotel then, if that’s the case.” Leeteuk said and smiled to their tour guide,

“What? You’re already married?” LeBlanc exclaimed to what Leeteuk had said, “But I thought Super Junior members are all single?”

Leeteuk thought of the consequence of what he told LeBlanc and retracted his words, “No, I’m not married yet. But I’m doing a show in Korea where I’m sort of married to someone. Are you already married, LeBlanc?”

“No, but I have already married once.  I have dated lots of girls too, but do you want to know what kind of woman I love the most?” LeBlanc asked,

Leeteuk just eyed at him, his gaze asking the unspoken question,

“I like simple girls. Those who are not too much to handle.” LeBlanc said, “If I can find a girl like that then, I’ll be the happiest guy in the world.”

I did. And I really am the happiest.

LeBlanc saw the way Leeteuk smiled and noticed him, “Why are you smiling there, Leeteuk? Do you know someone who’s like that?” LeBlanc said and nudged Leeteuk by the shoulder,

Yeah, I do. But she’s already taken. She’s already mine.

Leeteuk just smiled to his French friend and reciprocated the nudge LeBlanc gave, “Really, what do you think would be a nice thing to do here, LeBlanc?”

“Personally, I like going up to the museums the most or going up to the Eiffel Tower to see the whole Paris. Most of the girls find museums boring and the tower romantic.” LeBlanc said,

“As for the food, if I don’t have enough Euros for a restaurant. I just grab a picnic basket and fill it up with bread, foie gras and a dessert like a slice of mille – feuille. I also make sure I have a bottle of wine.”

“That would be really nice. I think she will enjoy that a lot.” Leeteuk uttered in a low voice, but it was enough for LeBlanc to hear it.

“What are you saying? Do you honestly believe a girl would like that? I’m just kidding there, Leeteuk.” He said but he also saw how serious Leeteuk is on doing it,

“N – No way. There’s no girl who would enjoy that kind of stuff here, Leeteuk. Even if they are your fan, I’m telling you. No one.” LeBlanc insisted, while looking incredulously at Leeteuk,

“I know.” Leeteuk said, “How do you get to greet each other here?” he asked afterwards,

“We kiss each other.” LeBlanc replied, “I know other cultures are still shocked on how we do things here but kissing each other is something natural for us. It’s our form of greeting.” LeBlanc said again,

“Really? Then it’s alright to kiss around girls when you greet them and they won’t mind it at all?” Leeteuk asked again,

“Yes.  They really don’t coz’ that’s what we always do. Haven’t you heard of the word French Kiss yet? That actually was named after us ‘coz French are passionate people.” LeBlanc said, and saw two girls approaching their direction,

“And speaking of kissing, I would gladly give a French kiss to the girl on the left who’s approaching us right now.”  LeBlanc said and whistled,

Leeteuk turned his head to the direction LeBlanc is looking and saw Jiyeon, together with Kyuhyun and Sora coming towards them,

Annyeong, oppa. We have shopped a lot today. Are you already finished with your photoshoot?” Jiyeon asked but Leeteuk’s attention was with Sora,

“Annyeong, Jungsoo oppa.” Sora greeted and smiled at him,

Leeteuk stood up and sauntered towards Sora until he’s standing opposite her,

“Hello, beautiful. Did you miss me?” he asked and gave a French kiss on Sora’s lips, not minding the 3 people who were shocked with what Leeteuk did.

The Fading of Bright Stars

In the years we shared work spaces, seldom did our hours crossed. She worked night shifts, while I move around across different time zones to meet the demands of my profession. She was a luminary; a survivor of countless excisions when the demands of work is lesser than what is required of human resources. And if not for the months-long infirmity last year, she would have endured the most recent culling. She became part of the statistics, only to return when a colleague flew abroad to get married and live with her fiancé.

A fine lady in her early 30's, one would easily mistake her for an East Asian. Her eyes disappear when she smiles, and her porcelain skin is the envy of many. Her gauntly frame, albeit a cause of concern, hardly bothers any. Colleagues would tell she eats nothing but Chippy and Coke. But who are we to forbid her of such pleasures? She delivers, and for all we care, satisfied are we of her job performance.

Talk is an avocation the two of us hardly engage. Reason lies in office hierarchy, but more so, because we respect each other's solitary leanings. But this doesn't mean ambivalence, or hidden disdain. Words may have never articulated what my thoughts were, but I've always regarded her in high esteem.
