echo.

“Ahahahahaha,” Miyoon became hysterical as she held onto her stomach.

Hoya blinked at her for a few seconds and then frowned. “Yah, what are you laughing at?” he hissed.

Miyoon stopped, wiped away an imaginary tear only to burst out laughing again. “Seriously, what’s your wish?” she managed to fit in between laughs.

Creases began to form on his forehead as he clenched his jaw. “That was my wish.” He declared with a firm and stern tone.

Miyoon’s laughs died down immediately after as she stared at him with her lips slightly parted. “Are you serious? What kind of wish is that?!”

“My kind of wish.” He defended folding his arms against his chest.

“Why would you wish for something like that? No offense but I’d like to remain alive. Besides, you already have your number one fan.” Miyoon pointed out as she jerked her head behind them in the direction Kyungmi was standing. “Plus, I’ve got a pretty busy schedule to maintain now since I got an in—” she paused. Why am I telling him stuff?

“You got a what?” Hoya asked.

“A life.” Miyoon finished shrugging her shoulders.

“Well, a deal’s a deal. So you better keep up your end of the bargain because this is what I want.” He ordered.

“But—but, you already have your number one fan!” she lamely reasoned.

“Who says I want her to be my number one fan? I told you to be, so you better become my biggest fan.”

“I’m not a groupie!” she exclaimed.

“Nobody said you were.” He retorted.

“I’m not doing this.” She harrumphed.

“What happened to being a person who kept their word?”

Miyoon gawked at him and then turned away. She was mumbling incoherent things to herself and although he couldn’t hear them, Hoya knew she was probably making negative comments.

After a few moments, Miyoon became level-headed as she gradually spun back around so that she was face to face with Hoya. She sent him a sheepish smile, “I know you want to change your wish.” She tried to convince but it was pointless just like a dull pencil because Hoya wasn’t going to change anything.

He smiled back at her and leaned in closer. The closeness was a little shocking to Miyoon as she drew her head back. “I’m not changing my mind.” He announced causing her face to fall.

“I guess breaking one promise won’t hurt then.” She mumbled.

“You can’t do that!” Hoya exclaimed with widened eyes.

“And why can’t I?” Miyoon stated as she stuck her tongue out at him. Hoya’s jaw dropped and when he was about to reprimand her, Wonho came over. He threw his arm around Hoya and they both watched as Miyoon happily skipped back to his family.

“Lovers’ quarrel?” he smirked.

Hoya his teeth and slapped his arm away, “No.”

“Then why are you so grumpy? Upset that she didn’t give you a victory kiss like those people do in the movies?” he teased.

“I’m not even going to explain anymore. Think what you want.” He permitted before stalking off in the same direction Miyoon had taken.

“That was a very brave thing you did, Miyoon-ah.” Mrs. Lee praised.

“She meant the medical part, not the part where you used violence.” Mrs. Park clarified.

“I was referring to the entire thing, omma. If she didn’t do it, justice wouldn’t have been served.” Mrs. Lee pointed out.

“Aigoo,” Mrs. Park sighed.

Miyoon rubbed the back of her neck and stared at the ground, “Mianhe, halmeoni. I guess I got carried away.” She apologized meekly.

“You got that right,” Hoya snickered.

“That’s all in the past now, let’s just forget about it. Today’s a good day.” Mrs. Park declared. “And you did a great job, Hoya.”

“Yeah, but I would have preferred to play longer if it wasn’t for a certain someone.” he answered nonchalantly. Miyoon gritted her teeth at him and bit down her tongue to ensure that she would not say anything foolish.

“That’s why I won’t ever come to another game again.” Miyoon murmured.

Hoya heard her and then an idea popped into his head. It was one that would surely push Miyoon into granting his wish. “Halmeoni, omma, appa. Miyoon was actually just telling me how she’d love to come to all of my games.” He lied with a perfect smile.

“EH?!” she yelled with her brows met in the center.

“Jinjja? How great!” Mrs. Lee cheesed as she clapped her hands like an eager child at the amusement park.

“But what would happen if it interferes with your internship schedule?” Mrs. Park asked.

“Yeah...” her voice trailed off as she pictured herself throwing daggers at Hoya’s face. Her hands were balled up into fists as she rotated her jaw. Then she had the perfect solution to fix everything. Hoya was staring at her the whole time with a very amused smile which was a result from Miyoon’s tense mood.

However, when he noticed how her expression eased up along with her entire body posture, his smile dimmed down drastically. “Neh, omonim I did tell Howon-sshi about me wanting to come to every game of his—” she sent him a wicked grin before continuing, “But now that halmeoni reminded me about my internship which I totally forgot about when I said that, I don’t think I’ll have any time to spare. You know how busy studying to become a doctor can be.”

Now it was Hoya who was looking crest-fallen. “Aigoo, that’s right. That won’t do then. It’s okay, Miyoon. We could always report the games to you if anything.” Mrs. Lee proclaimed.

“It won’t be necessary. If I do end up having time, I could always watch it on television.” She assured.

“Why don’t we talk about this over food?” Mrs. Park interrupted.

Hoya saw this as his chance and he opened his mouth only to get cut off by Miyoon. “That sounds great because I’m starving after all that running.”

Well played but you are so dead, Wu Miyoon.

“Abeonim, did you enjoy the game?” Miyoon questioned as she pushed Mr. Lee inside the house. He gave her a slight nod and she smiled as she set him in the living-room. “I know you don’t get out much, I’m sorry that I made you return so quickly.” She walked over to stand in front of him as she bowed sincerely.

It’s okay. Today was actually very fun for me, thank you Miyoon-ah. If only he could translate those thoughts into words and verbally display his gratification.

“Hey, Miyoon. Do you think you could go to the market and buy some ingredie
