black and white.

“Do you have a jack?” Mrs. Lee questioned with hope.

Miyoon eyed her hand cautiously, “Goldfish!” she cried out, happily.

The three of them were seated on the floor besides Mr. Lee having a blast playing childish games. They were all waiting for the last member of the party to return and it was almost thirty passed nine already. Miyoon exchanged glances with Mrs. Park who snuck a peek at her daughter's hand. She scratched her nose, stealthily and Miyoon nodded. “Do you have an ace?”

“Omo, I do!” she frowned, sliding over the card.

“How about a six?” Mrs. Lee's brows scrunched together as she passed over another card.

What she didn't know was that her mother and guest were playing dirty and by the time she figured that out, it was already too late. Miyoon had triumphed and came out victorious, “High-five, halmeoni!”

The poor victim shook her head, “You guys cheated! Omma I can't believe you!”

“Hey, it was Miyoon's idea.” Mrs. Park defended, shifting the blame to her young miss.

“Halmeoni!” Miyoon squealed, shooting from her seat. “We're in this together! You can't throw me under the bus!”

“Ah-ha! You both are unfair, I win!” Mrs. Lee proclaimed as they started to chuckle.

Then they heard the door opening, “Halmeoni, omma, appa, I'm home.” Hoya declared, removing his footwear. When he set it off to the side, he was surprised to find a pair of sparkling wedges lined up against the rest. He shook off the light sheet of snow which blanketed his shoulders and head.

“We're in here, sweetheart.” his mother shouted back. Miyoon's ears perked at the sound of his voice as she whipped her head towards Mrs. Park who smiled at her.

This is it, Miyoon. You'll finally get to meet the angel of halmeoni's life. For some strange reason she found her heart skipping abnormally as she placed her hand over her chest. She thought maybe it was because the way Mrs. Park's grandson behaved was very similar to Myungsoo.

His chivalry and righteous demeanor was praised greatly by her, “Omma do we have a guest?” Miyoon held her breath as she turned to catch her first glimpse of her worst nightmare.

“Ho-Ho...” she couldn't even get his name to come out of as she stared at him wide-eyed.

“Neh, Howon-ah. This is Miyoon, your halmeoni works for her family.” Mrs. Lee narrated.

Miyoon could feel his eyes burning through her skull as her lips puckered inwards. Her hands began to tremble but that was nothing compared to what emotional trauma she was facing at the moment. Halmeoni's beloved grandson is Lee Howon? What the heck is this! Has the world gone crazy!? He is not an angel! Miyoon was staring intently at the floor not sure how the hell she got into this sort of situation.

She prepared herself for the harsh words and snide remarks but nothing of that nature followed. “Jinjja? It's nice to meet you.” he welcomed rather kindly.

Miyoon took a double-take as she looked left and then right, “Are y-you talking to me?” she pointed a finger at herself and the two older women giggled. And then Hoya did what Miyoon thought he would never ever in a million years do in her presence again. He smiled. Yep, parallel universe here I am.

“Of course I'm talking to you, there's only one of you right?” Because if there were more, I think I wouldn't survive.

“Miyoon, you're so silly. This is Hoya, my grandson.” the elder chimed as she wrapped an arm around his waist.

“Geurae,” Why didn't he tell her that we know each other? “It's nice to meet you, Howon-sshi.” she answered. Not really.

“Oh how did you know his first name?” Mrs. Lee raised her brows.

“Eh?” Aish, that's right they just introduced him to me as Hoya! Miyoon began to dig up her own grave as she imagined Hoya scowling at her, telling her how dumb she was for ruining everything.

“Omma when you called me you said Howon-ah, so she probably heard you. Isn't that right, Miyoon-sshi?” Hoya lied. He examined her head to toe and rolled his eyes as he cleared his throat.

“Uh neh.” she agreed, sheepishly.

“Miyoon-ah, what's wrong? You were so excited to meet Hoya!” Mrs. Park declared, embarrassing her.

“She was?” Hoya said with a small smirk. Miyoon cursed her high expectations and gritted her teeth; he was definitely poking fun at her. So mature for a boy his age. She didn't even know what to say to that so Mrs. Lee spoke up instead.

“Is it because he's handsome? You know he gets so many love confessions, it's so cute!”

Hoya grew red at her revelation and hissed, “Omma.” but that didn't bother the mother.

“Aigoo, is that blush I see painting your cheeks? Don't be embarrassed Howon, it's not like you accept them anyways. Since you believe in true—“

“Ah, I'm so hungry halmeoni! Can we eat now?” Hoya pronounced as he dragged her to the table.

Mrs. Lee shook her head, holding back her laugh, “Go on to the table Miyoon. I'll bring my husband,”

Him getting confessions?! I'm going insane and imo said he believed in what? Miyoon wasn't even paying attention to what the woman had ordered her to do as she remained on the floor. “What is going on?” she mumbled and when she snapped out of it, she saw Mr. Lee in front of her.

She glanced up and found his wife behind him plastered with a bewildered expression. “We're having dinner now.” she repeated. Miyoon was flustered as she climbed to her feet and followed the couple to the table. As she strolled by a mirror she saw that she was still wearing the Christmas hat and face-palmed herself. How humiliating especially in front of Hoya o
