 white confessions.

“And this is our daughter, Xiazi but she uses her Korean name Miyoon.” Mr. Wu introduced as Mrs. Wu tapped her daughter's back, a signal for her to bow.

Miyoon curled a strand of hair behind her ear and followed orders, “She is so cute!” the woman gushed, clamping Miyoon's cheeks between her boney fingers.

Miyoon pulled away as politely as she could when a pair of hands covered her eyes. “Guess who?”

“Myungsoo, if you're going to do that at least change your voice.” she suggested. His hand fell to her shoulders and he spun her around.

“Oops. Oh well.” he replied but at this point Miyoon forgot about his failed joke because before her very eyes stood a dashing boy. Myungsoo's hair was gelled up a smidge, exhibiting his perfect symmetrical face; he was in a long-sleeved dress shirt with a corduroy vest resting on top and a red tie lying in the middle.

“O-oppa,” she stammered as she examined him head to toe.

God, did he look good. He looked so good Miyoon couldn't even come up with words to describe him. Kim Myungsoo literally made her speechless. “Aigoo, my best friend in a dress? Kyeopta!” he beamed, hooking an arm around her neck, allowing his subtle scent to fill her nostrils.

She was lost for a second because this had all seemed surreal until, “Sorry we're late! Did we miss the party?” Dongwoo hollered as the other four boys appeared by his side, flustered. They were dressed-up as well and Miyoon had to admit they cleaned up nicely.

The guests watched the youngsters entered and began to murmur amongst themselves. “You guys aren't late at all!” Miyoon assured as she ran up to them. “You guys look cool!”

“Tch, cool?” Woohyun scoffed.

“What about suave?” Sunggyu commented.

“Or charming.” Sungjong added.

“Or handsome.” Sungyeol jumped in last.

“Okay, you're all of that. But remember, best behavior.” Miyoon informed, wagging her finger at each of them. “And where's Taela?”

The boys all looked around and shrugged, “Were we supposed to watch her?” Dongwoo asked, dumbfounded.

“Ani, just wondering.” she answered.

“So what could we do?” Myungsoo said while they were all seated on the couch. They were the only children besides Kris and his friends who were doing their own thing while the adults were enticing themselves with the matters of politics, investments, stocks and other grown-up subjects.

Taela had eventually appeared and soon the chiming of bells ran through the crowded halls of the house. It was answered immediately and revealed a happy yet nervous Chunji. “Is this Miyoon’s house?” he squeaked. The maid nodded and smiled as she gestured him inside. She took his jacket for him and when his eyes found their way to the person who invited him, he couldn’t control his accelerating heart.

He ran his hand over his hair, smelled his own breath and finally deemed himself worthy enough to approach Miyoon.

“Did you get lost?” Miyoon asked, standing up from her seat.

“Ne—”

“Chanhee oppa!” Taela spazzed as she randomly shoved her friend out of the picture. Miyoon fell into Myungsoo’s arms and blushed hard when they stayed in that position for a few prolonged seconds.

“Taela-sshi.” Chunji stated, trying to dodge her so that he would be able to see Miyoon. Oh my god, why is she bothering me so much. Leave me alone please.

“Eh ehm,” Kris cleared his throat, not liking what he was seeing. Myungsoo chuckled and helped Miyoon back up. “What Xiazi, did you hire all these kids to be your friends?” he teased.

“Yah! I have friends, I’m not anti-social like you.” She snapped back.

“If he’s anti-social, does that mean we’re all anti-social?” Tao pondered. Miyoon slapped her forehead and swore she was on the brink of insanity.

“Just go and do whatever you guys were doing,” she replied and the six boys high-fived one another before leaving.

“Oppa you’re so cute!” Taela oozed, holding her arms against her chest as she winked at Chunji. He, awkwardly, shifted and wasn’t sure of what he would do next. She began to inch closer to him and her head fell onto his shoulder. Taela felt as if she was on cloud nine when Chunji was saved by Sungyeol. “Hey!” she whined.

“Can’t you see you’re scaring him?” he declared, hiding the latter behind his back.

“Am not!”

“Are too!”

“Yah!” and before anyone could react to the situation, Taela was on Sungyeol’s back.

“Get off!” Sungyeol screamed, trying to shake her loose. However, that was difficult with her clawing into his hair. He began to run around as his friends tried to tame him but it was no use.

The kids were all running into guests, crashing into things as they tried to calm the scene down. Sungyeol then ran into the beautifully decorated Christmas tree which was the center piece of the whole event. It swayed left then right while everyone gasped. Mrs. Wu nearly passed out and when the tree toppled over onto the harp player and singer that did it.

“At least that awful music stopped playing,” Dongwoo muttered.

“OH MY GOD!” Mrs. Wu shrieked once she regained her senses. She walked around the fiasco lying on the ground and turned to the culprits. “WU XIAZI! WHAT DID I TELL YOU?!” Miyoon flinched at the sound of her voice when her brother and his friends came in. “It's ruined, everything is ruined.” she wailed.

“No it isn't, sweetheart.” her husband comforted as he rubbed her back in a circular motion. Miyoon bit her lip as she examined the disaster before her; Kris and Tao quickly resurrected the tree so that the two who were oppressed by it, were able to escape and they were no longer in the Christmas spirit.

“We quit!” the harp player declared as she and her partner stormed out of the room. This only caused Mrs. Wu to wail louder, "Now we have no entertainment and our guests are going to leave and talk about how this was the worst party of the century." she was being maybe a bit too dramatic.

Then there was a tap on the microphone and someone saying: “Hello, check, is this thing working?” Miyoon turned and saw Myungsoo, Sunggyu and Woohyun standing with microphones. “We're really sorry, Omonim. We didn't mean to ruin your party.” Myungsoo stated.

“We really didn't and to make it up and hopefully patch things up,” Sunggyu paused.

“We will be the entertainment for the rest of the night.” Woohyun completed.

Sharp gasps erupted and Mrs. Wu climbed back to her feet with her husband's aid. “I think you kids have done enough. It is time for you to go home.” she spoke.

However, Miyoon did not want that to happen. “Omma just let them try please. You already said this was the worst party of the century so why would it matter?” she explained. “Wu Xiazi, you should not be speaking at this momen—“

“Yeobo, just give them a chance. They're children, it wasn't intentional.” Mr. Wu pointed out, giving her a nod of approval. She was stubborn about i
