love and war.

“Ah, what a bad nightmare. I can’t believe I was dreaming about him.” Miyoon grumbled as she stayed reclined on the bed which she assumed to be her own. Her eyes were still closed as she pictured her supposed dream in her head. “Hm, it was kind of realistic.” She muttered.

Then there was a knock at her door, “Miyoon?” Mrs. Park’s voice rang.

Miyoon’s brows quickly knitted together as she opened one eye. “Isn’t it Sunday? But halmeoni doesn’t work on Sundays.”

“Are you awake, dear?” she questioned.

For a couple of seconds she stared at the ceiling through one eye and noticed that it did not have the same design as the one she had in her actual bedroom. It took her a moment to accept that information and soon enough both of her eyes were wide awake. She shot up to sit in a ninety degree position before she inspected her surroundings.

“This isn’t my room.” She gawked.

The door then opened and Mrs. Lee was holding a mop this time. “Omo! Omma, there is nothing wrong with Miyoon. Why did you scare me like that?” she whined lowering her arms.

The addressed party moved Mrs. Lee to the side and stuck her head into the room. “Oh. I didn’t know. It was so quiet that I thought she might have been held hostage or something.” Mrs. Park reasoned.

“But she’s at our house. Who would hold her hostage?” her daughter retorted.

Mrs. Park held her nose bridge and blew a raspberry. “You never know. Someone could have snuck in.”

“We have a state of the art security system installed, omma. I think we would have known if someone broke in.” she pointed out.

“Not if somebody forgot to turn the alarm on.” The elder argued.

Mrs. Lee opened but nothing came out because that case was very plausible and valid. “Okay you have a point there but clearly that wasn’t what happened here.”

And as Miyoon listened to them bicker she could only blink. Huh? How did I end up here? “Omonim? Halmeoni?” she finally spoke. At the sound of her voice the two women ceased their conversation and provided her with their full attention. “Uhm—Why am I not home?”

They looked at each other and then shrugged. “We aren’t so sure ourselves.” Mrs. Park commented.

“Yeah. We thought Hoya brought you home but when he came back last night I saw you sleeping in the car and ordered him to bring you inside.” Mrs. Lee detailed. “If I didn’t know better I would think he was planning to leave you out there all night.”

Miyoon scratched her head and tried to recall anything from yesterday. However, the only thing that popped into her mind was her “dreams”. Thinking about it more Miyoon soon realized that everything she thought she dreamt about actually occurred. Her eyes widened as she recalled jabbing Hoya’s shoulder and then calling him cold and immature.

SO THAT WAS ALL REAL!? She started to tremble because she knew everything she said to him would have definitely offended him. “I-is that so?” she questioned.

“Haha, mhm. I guess you probably fell asleep while you were telling him directions so he thought it was safer to bring you back instead.” Mrs. Lee reasoned.

Oh how wrong she was.

“I see,” Miyoon nodded. She yawned and extended her arms out simultaneously. “What time is it anyways?”

“It’s almost noon.” Mrs. Park answered.

“EH!?” Miyoon sputtered. She turned to the convenient alarm clock by the bed and it was indeed almost twelve. “I slept in that late?!”

“It’s okay, Miyoon. You looked like you were really tired.” Mrs. Lee comforted. “Plus while you were asleep we had a mechanic come change the oil in your car so now it’s all set.”

“Really?” she beamed. “So I can go home?”

Mrs. Lee frowned, “Are you that excited to get away from us?”

“Ani!” Miyoon shook her head and waved her hands. “It’s just I bet I was a nuisance.” She pouted.

“Nonsense! You are never a nuisance!” Mrs. Park cried. “You’re a delightful addition to our household Miyoon. You’re always welcomed here.”

The girl let out a small smile as she subtly nodded her head. “Then I should be heading back. I bet my parents are worried sick.”

“Oh, I already called young master and told him of your whereabouts. He said it’s fine, he will cover for you.” Mrs. Park added in.

Miyoon looked at her and repeated what she said. “Gege said he would cover for me?” He must really want me to help him and unnie then.

“And even if you went home you’d have to come back to have lunch with us anyways.” Mrs. Lee reminded.

“Ah geurae! I forgot about that.” Miyoon sheepishly confessed. “But I should still go home and shower.”

“But that will just waste time and gas! Don’t you have extra clothes with you?” Mrs. Lee questioned obviously not wanting Miyoon to leave just yet.

Seeing how persistent her daughter was being, Mrs. Park couldn’t help but become suspicious of her intentions. However, she did not say a thing as she watched Mrs. Lee trying to persuade Miyoon not to leave.

Miyoon thought about it and then gave a slight nod. “I might. I usually bring spare clothing with me just incase the weather changes or something.”

“Great! So why don’t you go check? If you find them you can shower here to make things easier for you and the environment.” Mrs. Lee grinned.

“Er— I guess. But would Howon-sshi be okay with it?” she fibbed.

“Howon-sshi? Why so formal with him? Call him oppa if you want. Even Hoya! And he wouldn’t mind at all considering he left early in the morning for practice.” Mrs. Lee announced.

I will never call him oppa. “I think I’ll just stick to honorifics. We aren’t all that close so I think it would be inappropriate if I did that.”

Mrs. Park nodded in agreement. Although she did wish the two would become closer.

“If that’s what you want.” Mrs. Lee resigned. “Now hurry along.”

Miyoon fetched her keys and made her way to her car. She unlocked the trunk and got out a bag she usually kept in there. She rifled through it and to her dismay she only found leggings, socks and undergarments. “I didn’t pack a top, seriously? I guess I have to go tell omonim.”

Entering the house with all she had, Miyoon found Mrs. Lee in the kitchen cooking. “Omonim, it looks like I don’t have a shirt.”

Mrs. Lee spun around and flicked her wrist, waving her hand back and forth. “No big deal, I can find something for you. Just go and shower and I’ll leave it on the bed.”

“Are you sure? I mean I can go home and—”

“I’m sure. Now go.” She assured.

Miyoon obeyed and walked back to the room she woke up in without another thought as she got prepared to shower. While stripping out of her clothes, Miyoon noticed that she was still wearing her jacket and when she removed it, she found grass stains all over the back. “What the—” she turned around looked at her backside through the mirror.

To her dismay her pants were also dirty and she could not believe her eyes. When did this happen?! Suddenly a small clip played of Miyoon being dragged on the ground and she knew exactly what had happened. “He didn’t even bother to pick me up!” she barked. “Now it’s going to take me forever to remove these marks!”

Meanwhile back in the kitchen Mrs. Lee was happily singing as she finished packing up the meal she had prepared for Hoya and Miyoon. “Just what are you up to Lee Bora?” Mrs. Park interrogated.

Mrs. Lee froze and slowly turned around giving a nervous chuckle. “Whatever are you talking about, omma?”

“You know what I’m talking about. What are you trying to do? Play matchmaker?”

The younger woman sulked and threw her gaze to the floor. “I only want the best for Hoya.”

“Let me guess,” her mother sighed. “You’re going to cancel your lunch plans with them and have Miyoon deliver him his meal, aren’t you?” she predicted.

“Omo! Omma! Are you a psychic, how did you know?!”

Mrs. Park shook her head as she pushed her daughter’s forehead back with her forefinger. “Seriously, Park Bora. What do you think you’re doing? You’re not a teenager anymore; you can’t be doing stuff like this. If they’re meant to be, it will happen. You can’t force it upon them.” Mrs. Park lectured.

Mrs. Lee puffed her cheeks out in sadness. She knew her mother was serious about what she was saying since she used her maiden name and Mrs. Lee never liked it when she did that. “I’m not forcing anything. I’m just giving them a push in the right direction.” She defended. “I mean I know I’m
