love coach.

“Meimei, where did they go to buy snacks? It's been a while now and I really need to study.” Lay sighed as he drummed his pen against his open notebook. Miyoon was lying on her back as she kicked her legs in the air. After getting home she had changed out of her uniform and began to make up new lies to tell Lay so that he would be distracted. However, she was beginning to run out of ideas and she was growing frustrated.

She stared at the ceiling and before she could answer untruthfully, she lost balance and fell off the sofa. Luckily, she landed on something soft named Lay. “You're heavy for a sixth grader, get off of me.” he winced but Miyoon applied more force.

Who said lying was the only method I could use. She was sitting on his back and Lay did attempt to use his arms to push himself up but it didn't work. Miyoon was indeed overpowering him. It also helped that she had a huge snack half an hour ago.

“This is fun!” she cackled, bouncing up and down as she hugged her knees. And each time her was reconnected with Lay's back, he grunted. She was knocking all the air out of him.

“Yah, you're going to break my ribs.” He cried but Miyoon just shrugged. “If you don't get off right now, don't blame me,” he warned. Lay was, currently, gathering all of his strength and as he was about to throw Miyoon off, she got up herself which made him fall onto his back this time with a thud.

His head collided lightly with the wooden floor and now Miyoon was towering over him, triumphantly. “What was that, gege?” Miyoon taunted, as she cupped a hand over her ear, wanting Lay to repeat himself. The latter sat up and comforted his head. Then Kris bursted into the room, bewildered at why is friend was on the floor.

“Lay, you do know that we have chairs and couches right?” Lay sent him a poker-face and Kris chuckled. “You and Xiazi with your weird sitting style.”

“Yah!” Miyoon and Lay exclaimed in synchronization.

“Why are you so late? Do you know what time it is? We have a lot of studying to do!” Lay nagged, standing up.

Kris tapped his chin as if he was thinking, “Studying for what? Gosh, Lay you sound like a wife.”

“Wife? Yah, yah! Don't start with me. You said we had a big math test tomorrow!” Lay growled, pointing everywhere for no reason.

“Oh the big chapter exam? That's next week!” Kris grinned, winking at Miyoon.

Of course he would forget the test date and believe whatever they say. She thought.

“But Luhan said it was tomorrow.” Lay frowned, scratching his head.

“He must have gotten the dates mixed up. It's okay we can do some studying anyways at Chen's.” Kris suggested.

“I'm not sure, it's getting pretty late and I have to go home soon.” he replied and that's when Kris turned to his sister for assistance.

“Don't be a party pooper, gege. Just go and hang out, I'll come too.” Miyoon butted in and Lay reconsidered the idea.

Being with his friends sounded a million times better than being at home alone anyways. “Okay, but next week we're studying super hard for the math exam.” He compromised as he slung his bag over his shoulder. “And let's take the car, I don't think I want to ride my bike for a while after my experience with Xiazi.”

Kris raised his brows and Miyoon shrugged her shoulders as she mouthed ‘You said to keep him busy.’

In the car Kris and Lay were talking about high school and whatever was attached while Miyoon stared out the window and thought about Myungsoo; she sighed, dreamily, at the image of his smile and pressed her hand over her heart. Oppa's so dreamy. I can't wait to see him again tomorrow.

“How many sunbaes asked you to the dance?” Lay gawked, cleaning out his ears to check if he had heard, correctly.

“Over ten,” Kris repeated, coolly.

“And you turned them all down?” his friend nodded. “Wow Yifan, looks like you're more charismatic than Luhan.” Lay praised.

“Tch, yeah right.” Miyoon suddenly scoffed. She had tuned in when Lay had compared Kris to Luhan.

In her opinion none of them were charismatic or even attractive. Sure, they carried a few good features here and there but they didn't have enough to make her go goo-goo gaga over them. Objectively because those girls who were so infatuated with Kris, Luhan, Lay, Chen, Xiumin and Tao, never experienced their real dorky sides like Miyoon had. Plus, she knew them too well and was too close to think that they were anything else besides annoying and brotherly.

And to hear of other humans from the same gender group as herself thinking that made Miyoon gag. Were they blind?

“Yah, your geges are pretty popular at school for your information.” Kris harrumphed, trapping her nose in between his middle and index finger and shaking her head side to side.

“Oh please, you guys are a bunch of dweebs.” Miyoon critiqued in a nasally voice.

“Well I guess girls just love us dweebs then.” he proclaimed, releasing her.

She rubbed her nose and stuck her tongue at him. “I don't.”

“Oh really? You don't like guys like us? So what kinds of guys do you fancy?” Lay questioned, amused.

Miyoon fell silent and began feeling a mixture of anxiety and nervousness. Myungsoo, I like guys like Myungsoo Oppa. “No one, I don't think a-about those t-things.” she stammered a little but before the two overprotective boys could interrogate Miyoon and force the truth out of her, the car came to a jerky stop.

“We are here, young sir, young miss.” their driver announced. And at the sound of that, Miyoon hurled herself out of the car.

She fanned her face and controlled her speeding heart. “That was close.” she mumbled and when she heard the door slamming she got her posture back.

“Come on, Miss I-think-my-handsome-geges-are-dorks.” Kris teased as he and Lay strolled to the door to Chen's home. He pressed the bell and Miyoon stood behind them.

Seconds later Chen was before them, wearing a dopey smile. “Hey guys!” he cheesed, creating a pathway for the three of them to enter. Kris was the first to move and then Lay managed to walk in at the same time Miyoon had because she was so tiny.

“You couldn't wait or something?” Miyoon squinted an eye at him and he smiled.

“Nope, I couldn't.” And Lay was not expecting what was coming at him next.

“Surprise!” a group of people shouted as confetti danced in the air and settled into their hair.

Miyoon was just as shocked as Lay to see the decorations selected and the amount of guests they had. She couldn't believe that her “brothers” had managed to pull this party off.

“Why are you guys throwing a party?” Lay stated, confused and then it was silent as Miyoon elbowed his ribs.

“It's your birthday.” she muttered and his eyes went wide.

“It is?!” he gasped as everyone howled in laughter and the atmosphere lightened up.

People were coming up to Lay wishing him a happy birthday; some were high-fiving him others hugging and a few patting his back. Miyoon stood by the doorway, awkward
