nice to meet you.

“A-annyonghaeseyo Myungsoo-sshi,” Miyoon stammered, casting her gaze onto the tiled floor. She drew circles with her foot while her hands gripped firmly onto the container behind her back.

It was lunch time and the cafeteria was unusually loud for an elementary school.

The laughing boys ceased their activities at the sound of her voice almost immediately. “Neh?” Myungsoo answered, leaping down from the table. He carefully examined the young girl’s face to see that it was bright red.

“I-I,” she struggled getting her words out as whispering arose from the girls around them.

“What is it, Miyoon-ah?” he questioned ever so sweetly, his voice sounding as sugary as honey. At the sound of her name slipping from his lips, Miyoon felt her heart accelerate at a rapid pace.

“I,” she mustered up the courage to lift her head up, allowing their gazes to meet. “Ijustwantedtothankyouforsavingme.” She shot out faster than a bullet from a pistol, shoving the container into his arms before fleeing from the scene.

Myungsoo blinked a few times and glanced at the container. He wore a befuddled expression before turning back to his friends. “Who was that? One of your little sister’s friends?” Woohyun questioned. Myungsoo shook his head.

“Ani, that’s Wu Miyoon, I think. I live down the street from her. I wonder why she thanked me though.” He pondered, prying the lid off. Next the scent of oven baked chocolate chip cookies filled the air.

“Who cares why, she made you cookies!” Dongwoo rejoiced, reaching out to snag one but Sunggyu slapped his hand away.

“That is for Myungsoo, no one else.” He warned as the younger one pouted.

“It’s okay Hyung, I can share. I’m sure she wouldn’t mind.” Myungsoo offered, passing the container around. When it reached Hoya, he simply stared at the homemade treats which looked like they took some time and care to prepare.

“Aren’t you going to take some Hyung?” Sungjong prodded, shaking the container in his face. Hoya furrowed his brows and shoved it away.

“I don’t want any.” He stated sternly, exiting the cafeteria. As he walked out, he spotted Miyoon hiding behind a wall, stealing glimpses at their lunch table. He sighed before heading to the courtyard.

“These are pretty good,” Sungyeol beamed, chugging down a carton of milk. The others nodded in agreement.

“You should go and properly thank her. It must have taken her awhile to make these for you.” Sunggyu noted.

Myungsoo closed off the container and nodded in response. He scanned the room and found her. When his eyes landed on her, he could see her stunned face as she ducked for cover. Myungsoo couldn’t help but chuckle at her reaction as he strolled over to her.

When he reached the corner he had saw her at, there she was leaning on the wall, staring at her feet. Myungsoo smiled and stuck the bin out to her, gesturing for her to take one. Miyoon stood stiffly, trying to comprehend what was going on at the moment. Then he spoke up, breaking her focus. “Aren’t you going to taste some of your cookies Miyoon? They’re really good.”

Myungsoo dropping the formalities and honorifics with her so quickly, made her want to squeal with happiness as she bit back her smile. Ever so slowly her little hand jumped into the container, retrieving a cookie for herself. She looked at Myungsoo who nodded at her, telling her it was okay.

She smiled and took a tiny bite. “They were really good Miyoon, I hope I will get to try more of these cookies.” He complimented, ruffling her hair before returning to his friends.

Miyoon touched her head, the same place his hand had just made contact with and felt her heart flutter. She turned again to their table to discover Myungsoo smiling at her as he waved. Her eyes fell back to the floor as she grinned however that did not last long. “Now I’m going to have to ask sunbaenim to make cookies for me all the time.” She pouted.

And that’s how their friendship blossomed; those two children who were once just neighbors were soon becoming the best of friends.

It was the first day of junior high for Miyoon and she was more than ecstatic since Myungsoo and Taela, specifically Myungsoo was attending the same school again. She let out a high pitch shriek of excitement as she prepped herself.

She adjusted her blazer, and smoothed out her skirt. She stared at the mirror and smiled. Suddenly the doorbell chimed through the halls of their home. Guessing that it was her prince charming, Miyoon snatched up her knapsack and bolted to the front door.

The head-maid swung the door open for her as she handed over Miyoon’s lunch box. “Are they in here, sunbaenim?” she whispered, shielding with her hand. The maid chuckled and nodded.

“Enjoy your day Agasshi,” Miyoon mouthed her a thank you, bowed and joined the Kim siblings outside.

“Kya! Miyoon, we look so cute!” Taela cheered, linking their arms together. “Don’t you think so Oppa?” Miyoon held her breath as she briefly met eyes with Myungsoo. Even at the age of thirteen, he was quite good-looking. It was dead quiet, while he inspected the two girls. Then a smile broke out as he tousled both of their heads.

“Of course my dongsaengs look cute. We should get going now or else we’ll be late.” He advised, spinning on his heels to lead the girls to their new school. Miyoon felt as though she had been paralyzed as her cheeks burned up.

He said I was cute. She couldn’t help but let the inner fangirl in herself, scream with utter flattery. It was the first time Myungsoo had complimented her like that, and she sure wasn’t going to forget a moment like this.

As Taela dragged Miyoon down the road, she kept on blabbering about what their new school would be like and if there would be any cute guys for her. Miyoon couldn’t help but her teeth.

If it hadn’t been for Myungsoo introducing the two, and insisting that they got to know each other better because they were in the same grade, Miyoon and Taela probably would have never crossed paths.

“I thought you liked Yifan?” Miyoon interrupted her half way through her ramble. At the mention of the older Wu, who was four years ahead of them, Taela blushed.

“I do, but I mean I’m sure he’s not ready for a commitment yet.” She defended, detaching her arm.

“Knowing my brother, he’ll never be ready for a commitment.” Miyoon answered.

“Who’s not ready for a commitment?” Sungyeol popped out behind the two girls, causing them to yelp with fright.

“Yah! Why would you do that? Do you want us to wet our pants?” Taela scolded, glaring at him. The older boy pinched up his nose in disgust and shook his head.

“I wouldn’t have wet my pants,” Miyoon mumbled, thinking about the unhygienic deed. She glanced up from the cement sidewalk to discover the rest of the gang striding along with Myungsoo. “When did you guys get here?”

“We also meet up like this,” Sungyeol explained, throwing an arm around Miyoon’s and Taela’s shoulders. However he only received the luxury of using Miyoon as an armrest, since Taela shrugged him off and power-walked away from them.

“Aish, she’s such a brat. No fun, unlike our little Mimi!” he cooed, holding his head up high and grinning.

“Mimi?” Miyoon repeated with a quizzical look.

“Geurae, Mimi. That is the nickname the guys and I have selected for you. Well, mainly me.” He answered.

Miyoon gave a light chuckle as she faced forward. She examined the six boys and one girl, to find one of them was more aloof from the rest. It took her a couple of minutes to configure the mystery person, until she caught sight of the purple headphones and backpack he was wearing. “Sungyeol-ah, why is Howon-sshi walking so fast?”

Sungyeol directed his gaze to the mentioned party and shrugged. “He always does that, don’t mind him.”

Finally, what felt like a lifetime of walking came to an end as the children arrived at their destination. Miyoon pulled out her schedule to reach the conclusion that her class was located on the second floor, since it was labeled 2B. As they reached the front doors, the others also retrieved their schedules for comparison. Myungsoo, Hoya and Woohyun were in one room, Sungyeol and Dongwoo in another, Sunggyu was by himself while Sungjong and Taela shared the same class.

“Wah, our Mimi has class with no one,” Sungyeol declared, towering over Miyoon’s shoulder. Startled by his random appearance, her schedule fell and drifted to the ground. Two hands reached out for it, neither being Miyoon’s.

Myungsoo picked it up and chuckled, seeing Sungyeol pouting. “But I wanted to give it back to Mimi.” He whined.

“You talk so much Yeollie, le
