Tying the Knot.
What She Never Told Himyou know.
As she sat in her bedroom, all Miyoon could think about was the scene that took place in the cafe two nights ago. She wasn't sure if she had seen right or not. It happened so fast and she was so out of it, she couldn't differentiate her imaginations from reality.
“Was that seriously Lee Howon?” Miyoon questioned.
He looked colder than ever yet his sharp facial structure made it okay. It made his stare less intimidating because of his handsomeness. She couldn't deny that.
It wasn't until that night when she saw him did she realize this. How could she not have noticed this before? Simple, she always found him unattractive because he was mean to her. Who would find someone who was a bully attractive? Not Miyoon.
Well up till two days ago she didn't.
She blew a raspberry and snorted as she tousled her hair in frustration. “What am I doing to myself?” She grumbled. “Thinking about him like this is making me get stress lines.”
Then there was a knock on her door. Miyoon composed herself and strolled over to answer it. She was surprised to see her brother standing there. His head was hung low and Miyoon knew he had met Yunhee. She wanted to laugh and tell him that's what he deserved after all these years but she couldn't bring herself to do so even if she wanted to.
She sighed and hitched her lips to be side. Kris looked at her and soon enough he engulfed her into a hug. The Wu siblings haven't hugged in over three years and Miyoon really missed being in her big brother's arms. “I saw her again, Xia.” He withdrew and she stepped out of the way, letting him enter her room.
Miyoon shut the door and shook her head. “How was it? Was it bad?” Kris dropped onto her bed with his legs on the floor and his back pressed against the mattress. He exhaled and stared at the ceiling. The bed shifted and he realized his little sister just joined him.
“It was terrible.” He finally muttered.
Miyoon frowned. “I thought you would have been glad to see her.” She remarked, truthfully.
“I was,” he paused and turned to face her. “And that's the scary thing.”
“Why is it scary?”
“Because she isn't the same, Xia. She was so different from what I could remember. She's harsh, brute but I still love her.” Kris confessed, brokenly. “I love her with every ounce of my being and it scares me.”
Miyoon couldn't help but let out a subtle smile. This was the gege she knew. The gege she missed. “Do you now?” She sat up and he followed suit. “It's about time you realized. It only took you three years to admit it again.” She playfully joked.
“Yah, I came to you for comfort.” Kris nagged.
“Who’s the older one here? Gosh. It’s about time we became a duo again.” Miyoon grinned. “I’ll help you, gege. Don’t you worry. We’ll get unnie back to you.”
“But she’s not the same, Xia.” Kris reminded.
“You’ve noticed too? I know but I doubt she’s entirely gone. She can’t be.” She assured. “I guess we’ll just have to wait and find out then.”
Kris nodded and once again enveloped Miyoon into a hug. “I’ve missed you too, meimei. I’m sorry for everything.”
“No need to get all sentimental now. That’s not our style.” She teased, pushing him away.
“Little twerp.” He snickered, jabbing her forehead back with his forefinger. She chuckled and then her mind wandered back to Hoya.
She stopped smiling and pouted instead. Why are you thinking about him? Aish, I better invite him soon so I can just get it over with. But how am I supposed to get in contact with him? Like Woohyun said, he’s a busy athlete super star now.
Another knock snapped her out of her thoughts. “Miyoon-ah, it’s time to eat.” Mrs. Park declared on the other side.
“Neh.” She answered. And then it clicked. Babo-ya! His grandmother is halmeoni! How could I forget? Miyoon felt bubbly inside discovering how she could easily get the invitation to Hoya and unknowingly smiled.
“Miyoon? Since when did you and Mrs. Park get on a first name basis?” Kris interrogated confused.
Miyoon looked at him and held a finger to her lips, “It’s none of your business. But mum’s the word.” She winked before darting off.
As she met with Mrs. Park in the kitchen she grinned even wider. “Halmeoni,” she whispered.
Mrs. Park turned around and smiled, “Yes?”
The young woman’s body fidgeted as her fingers fibbed against one another. “Erhm— I wanted to uh— hmph.” Miyoon was having a hard time getting her question out. She was trying to find a way to ask Mrs. Park without having it be weird. With furrowed brows, Miyoon realized that there was no way that was going to happen. So she decided that it was best to just spit the truth out.
It’s not like she was asking for Hoya for her own benefits. It was just so she could invite him to Myungsoo’s party that’s all. Therefore it shouldn’t be weird.
Yet it still was.
“What is it, dear?” Mrs. Park chimed, sweetly.
“Well—” she gulped a heap of oxygen. “IwaswonderingifyouknewwhereIcouldfindHowonyourgrandson.IwantedtoinvitehimtoMyungsoo’sparty. ButIcannevergetaholdofhimsinceIknowhe’sreallybusyandall. Ijustneedtohandhimaninvitationand—uhmyeah.” she rapidly fired, no clue at why she was that anxious. It was like the first time she interacted with Myungsoo.
Mrs. Park blinked continuously, her mind whirling at the flood of words pouring from Miyoon’s lips. When her mind finally computed what she had said, she giggled. “Oh really? And what do you want me to do?”
“I was wondering if you could maybe hand him the invitation?” she squeaked.
Mrs. Park thought about it and then shook her head. Her face fell. “I’m not the host. If you really want him to go, Miyoon, you should personally invite him. He’ll be more likely to accept that way.”
“B-but,” Miyoon flushed even more. She wasn’t even sure why she was getting so red. She didn’t have a problem personally inviting the other guys but with Hoya and their last meeting, she did not want to have invite him herself.
“Why don’t you come to my house this weekend? He should be home. Now get moving, dinner’s getting cold.” The elder prodded.
Miyoon reached the table and felt quite relieved that she would be able to deliver the invitation soon bringing her one step closer into gathering everyone she knew Myungsoo would be ecstatic to see. Imagining his bright smile, she was joyous. However her jaw hit the floor when she comprehended the situation she would soon be in. “I have to go to his house on the weekend?!” she cried in agony.
Dinner came to an end and Miyoon was in the living room watching television. “Miyoon?” Mrs. Park asked.
“Neh.” Miyoon replied.
“Here’s our new address. Come by Saturday evening. I’ll take the day off so that I could fix you a proper meal.” She insisted as she placed a slip of paper into her palm.
Miyoon stood up and scr
