nagging.

“So,” Miyoon paused as the car came to a stop at a red light. “Are you sure you don’t want to go?”

Hoya didn’t make a single sound as his eyes focused on the dark road before him. Why can’t she shut up? He was expecting her to not make a peep but once they drove away, Miyoon couldn’t deal with the awkward silence therefore she decided why not give it another shot.

It beat sitting quietly that was for sure. And her decision was what led her to conduct the current conversation they were having. Well, the one she was trying to have anyways.

“I mean I know you said you were busy but come on, he’s your childhood friend. Doesn’t that count for something?” Miyoon asked. The light altered back into green and almost immediately Hoya stomped onto the gas pedal not wanting to hear anything she had to say.

The speed of the car picked up but Miyoon was unfazed by it.

“Why are you driving so hastily, there are other cars on the road.” She stated.

“This is my car, I’ll drive however I want to.” He retaliated increasing the acceleration speed even more.

Miyoon scoffed, “Whatever. The faster you get me home the less torture I’ll have to face.” She meant to keep the last part to herself but remember Hoya’s sharp ears? Yeah, Miyoon didn’t.

“What?” Hoya suddenly slammed onto the breaks as his grip on the wheel tightened.

She turned to him trying to play clueless once she realized that he probably heard her statement. “What?” she copied.

Hoya clenched his jaw, “If anyone is being tortured here, it would be me. Do you know how difficult it is for me to listen to your voice? Don’t you know when people don’t want to talk to you?”

“My voice is difficult to listen to?” Miyoon gawked.

“Clearly, my ears are about to start gushing out blood.” He provoked.

“Hey! Why are you still so mean?” she guffawed at him. She was beginning to behave as a little child without recognition of her actions.

“Me mean? If you want to see mean, I’ll show you mean.” He proclaimed. He unbuckled his seatbelt and stalked out of his car. Miyoon blinked as she watched him through the window-shield. He was glaring at her the entire time as he made his way to her side of the door.

Next, he threw the door open and stared at Miyoon. “Get out.” Hoya ordered.

“Huh?” Miyoon frowned.

“I said get out right now. You said I was mean and now I’m showing you what mean is.” He declared.

“Are you crazy? You want me to get out? Why?!” she exclaimed shaking her head.

“Because why would I want to give a ride to somebody who thinks I’m mean?” he rebutted.

“But you are! You said my voice was going to make your ears bleed!” Miyoon defended.

“It’s the truth! What did you want me to say? Just get out of my car you nuisance.”

“Andwae!”

“Yah!”

“Ani!”

“I said get out!”

“I don’t want to!”

Hoya grinded his teeth as he whipped his head to the side. “You’re either getting out on your own or I’m going to drag you out.”

“You wouldn’t!” Miyoon gasped.

“Try me,” he challenged.

“B-but omonim said you had to bring me home!” she reminded.

“How would she know if I did or didn’t?” he raised a brow at her and when Miyoon’s face turned pale he knew that she had caught on to his suggestive phrase.

“A-and how wouldn’t she?” she squawked. He’s not going to kill me or anything, is he?! She swallowed hard waiting for his answer.

Hoya smirked and lowered his head into the car. They’re faces were twelve inches apart but that was still rather close for Miyoon. She tried not staring into his eyes but there wasn’t much she could do to avoid them. “Because you’ll never see her again.”

She jumped up and screeched, “Don’t kill me!” without thinking.

Miyoon had no clue into why she was so frightened of Hoya, she just was. He was the only guy who made her heart beat with anxiety and she did not like it. It was as if he lived to bathe in her misery and fear. He was just so cold and intimidating that she wasn’t positive at what she could do to please him.

And hearing those words “Because you’ll never see her again” sent the wrong signals to Miyoon leading her to misinterpret them.

Hoya who was not expecting her sudden outburst was surprised and bumped his head against the roof as a response. “Aish,” he moaned as he pulled out of the car. He comforted the sore spot and kicked the air. She keeps injuring me!

“I’ll get out now, no need to kill me! Bye!” Miyoon announced nervously discovering that he was distracted and that this would be the only opportunity she might get to live to see another day.

Hoya turned around and saw Miyoon practically running away. She was power-walking but with how fast she was moving, it looked like she was participating in a marathon.

“Could’ve done that from the start.” He grumbled. Hoya watched as she grew smaller and then he climbed into his vehicle. He examined himself in the mirror and furrowed his brows. If she keeps this up, I’ll end up in the ER.

“I don’t want to die. I don’t want to die.” Miyoon kept chanting to herself as she scuttled away from the car. Every now and then she would glance over her shoulder to see if Hoya was following her and when she noticed him getting back into his car, she was elated.

Her fast-beating heart relaxed as she held onto it and exhaled deeply. “That was close,” she sighed. She ceased all movement and glanced around. “Where am I?” she pondered.

It looked like unfamiliar territory and Miyoon was able to conclude that they were nowhere near where she resided. fell slightly ajar as she scratched her head.

She was searching for street signs when Hoya’s automobile whizzed by her faster than a blink of an eye.

The wind it carried sent her hair dancing in her face and the smoke floating out of the muffler caused her to cough. “At least I’m still alive.” Miyoon waved away the remaining exhaust of the car before her eyes finally landed on a street sign.

“Hm, I can call gege to get me from here.” She beamed.

After coming up with a plan like that, Miyoon was not the least bit worried. She wasn’t afraid of the dark and with the martial arts skills she learned from Tao, she was definitely ready to defend herself against any criminals or crooks that could be lurking about.

Miyoon was feeling dandy at the idea of having to no longer deal with Hoya and being able to return to her warm bed soon.

But as she patted her pockets her smile shrunk more and more until her lips were pressed into a thin line. “Where’s my phone?!” she cried.

She rummaged through her bag next and at this point in time she felt like running into a pole. Then an image of her tossing her phone into the cup holder in the car flashed into her mind and all hope of finding the phone on her was dispersed. “Ah! Babo-ya!” she screamed.

“How could you forget your phone in there?” she nagged as she thumped her forehead. “Maybe I could keep walking and I’ll find a store that will let me use their telephone!” she said.

Miyoon looked right and then left. Which way should I go? If she had paid attention to the ride at all she would have known that less than a mile back from where they had come from there was a small convenience store open.

But since she was too busy with trying to convince Hoya to go to the party, she wasn’t aware of that fact. So she continued to head down the road in the direction where she last saw his car head off into.

As she trudged in the frisky night air, she yanked the collar of her jacket up shielding her neck from the cold. Her hands were stuffed into her pockets trying to remain warm as her nose began to get runny. Miyoon sniffled and quickly cleaned herself with her sleeve.

“Aigoo, I don’t see anything.” She moped. She dropped onto a huge rock off to the side and pouted. “How am I supposed to get home?” Miyoon’s head was drooped as she stared at the dried up and nearly dead grass her and the rock were planted on. Maybe I should’ve let him kill me. She sulked as she felt her body getting colder and colder. At least I wouldn’t feel myself freezing.

“Seriously
