Let the Sleepover Begin.
What She Never Told Himshady girl.
“All done,” Miyoon cheered as she plopped down onto the pile of blankets and pillows she and Myungsoo had gathered.
“Now what movie do you want to watch, Jeepers Creepers or Amityville Horror?” he questioned, holding up the two DVD cases. Miyoon shifted her eyes between the options and thought about it.
“The one that’s scarier,” she replied, nodding her head.
“Amityville Horror, it is then!” Myungsoo declared, scurrying over to the machine and inserting the disk. “Do you have the snacks?”
Miyoon blinked at him and searched the area, “I must have forgotten them in the kitchen, I’ll get it.” As she got up to do so, Myungsoo pulled her back down.
“We can eat after,” he stated as he let his arm swing over her shoulders. “It’s starting,” Miyoon flushed as she eyed their skinship. Sure this wasn’t the first time they were this close, but it was the first time they were this close, alone.
She swallowed and felt her heart doing flips and her stomach performing somersaults. She bit the insides of her cheeks and thanked the gods that the lights were off, shielding her tomato-red face from him.
For a while, Miyoon wasn’t even paying attention to the movie as she watched Myungsoo instead. She exhaled a dreamy sigh, which caught the boy’s ears. He turned her direction and she immediately whipped her head towards the screen. He didn’t see me right? Aigoo, now he’s going to think I’m weird for looking at him.
But it was silent. The only words spoken were coming from the movie.
Miyoon discreetly moved her head again, to catch a glimpse of Myungsoo. When her eyes finally landed on him, she found his eyes were glued onto the television. She sighed with relief as she averted her gaze to the movie. Myungsoo suddenly held her closer at one of the more frightening scenes and Miyoon couldn’t help but chuckle.
She wasn’t afraid of horror films, in fact she admired them. Her best friend on the other hand, was as they would say a big fat scaredy-cat. When the movie was approaching the climactic scene, Miyoon felt Myungsoo holding her more firmly. She smiled and allowed her body to relax against his. If only we could stay like this forever, Myungsoo Oppa.
Then a dark figure appeared in front of the scene, Myungsoo yelped and the lights flickered on. The boy was standing with his back towards the two as he gasped. “Xiamei! You should not be watching these kinds of movies! You’re still a baby!” Xiumin shouted, turning the television off.
Miyoon looked at him and then frowned. Xiumin walked up to the two and drove a wedge in between them, creating a seat for himself. Next the rest of the boys marched out, carrying loads of snacks which they were currently devouring.
“Hey, that’s ours!” Miyoon yelled, shooting up from her seat. The boys stopped and looked at each other.
“Finders keepers, losers weepers.” Chen and Luhan mused.
“We didn’t lose it!” Miyoon argued.
“It’s okay, Miyoon. It’s always a good thing to share,” Myungsoo assured. Then Xiumin wrapped her into a hug and grinned.
“If it’s good to share, you won’t mind if we keep Xiamei to ourselves, right?” he questioned, resulting in a gaped girl.
“Yah we’re trying to have a sleepover here, why are you guys bothering us?” she exclaimed, trying to put in some distance between her and her captor, but it was useless.
“We’re having a sleepover too.” Tao reasoned as he and Kris flopped onto the couch.
Now what was once just two best friends, watching a horror flick, hoping to spend some quality time together, altered into two best friends and six annoying adolescences that were quite oblivious to the fact that they were not wanted around.
“Well go have your own sleepover in Yifan’s room, and leave us alone!” Miyoon growled, finally managing to detach herself from Xiumin.
“It’s not as fun that way,” Lay pouted as he surfed through the channels.
“We were watching that!” she pointed out, snatching the remote from him. “You guys are doing this on purpose!”
“Now why would we do that? We just want to spend our weekend with the world’s greatest sister ever!” Kris snorted. Even if Myungsoo sees her only as a sister, they’re still a boy and girl. I can’t leave them alone!
“As if, you guys never have sleepovers or as you like to phrase them, slumber parties. And all of a sudden you have one out of the blue?” she retorted.
“Miyoon, sleepovers are always more fun with more people. Maybe it was a coincidence that your brother and his friends decided to have one, when we did.” Myungsoo defended and this caught all of their attention.
“Hey, I don’t think this kid is really trying to hit on Xiazi. He probably sees her like how we all see her too,” Chen muttered to Luhan and Lay who both nodded.
“But Myungsoo-ah,” Miyoon began but she was cut short when a handful of cheese-balls were shoved into . Her muffled speech caused them all to howl in laughter as she chewed and swallow them. “Yah! Why did you—” and the procedure repeated again with Luhan as the culprit.
“I think it would be alright if they joined us.” Myungsoo smiled as he wiped the remaining crumbs off of her face. Miyoon nearly melted at his touch as she slowly nodded.
This exchange however raised more alarms to the six macho so-called protectors of Miyoon. “You definitely spoke too soon,” Tao muttered. Then Kris cleared his throat, which reminded the two youngsters that they were in a crowded room.
“If Myungsoo kindly offered, there’s no way we could decline, right guys?” Kris cocked a brow and the others agreed, eagerly.
Miyoon wanted to protest, shun the boys away but Myungsoo caught her wrist and shook his head. He turned back to his seniors and smiled, “What shall we do then?”
“Eat!” Xiumin screamed, running to the kitchen. Everyone, including Miyoon, couldn’t help but laugh at him. Moments later, he reentered carrying a gallon of vanilla ice cream and a large ladle which he was using as a spoon.
“Want to share, Hyung?” Lay scurried over, but Xiumin swatted his hand away and waved the ladle, defensively.
“This. Is. Mine.” He spoke but because he was too focused with keeping Lay away, he didn’t realize that Chen had snuck up behind him. He was just about to wrap his fingers around the container when Xiumin, unexpectedly, spun around and thwacked him with the ladle.
“Ow! Why did you do that Baozi!” he winced rubbing his head. Xiumin sheepishly grinned and shrugged.
“Oops, I didn’t see you there.” He apologized, insincerely.
“You got ice cream on the carpets!” Kris gasped and then a mad chase broke out.
Ten minutes had gone by and Xiumin was still being hunted down by the giant with the tub of ice cream still in his possession and the ladle dancing in the air. And because of this, there was a trail of melted dessert everywhere.
No one but Yifan and his friends would be this embarrassing. Miyoon sighed and went for the mop. “You clean it,” she instructed her brother who was resting with his palms pressed against his thighs.
“I didn’t cause the mess!” Kris rebelled.
“Well Baozi is your guest, which means you should be responsible.”
Suddenly the mop was out of her grasp and in Myungsoo’s. “I’ll do it,”
“Ani, Myungsoo you didn’t make a mess. Let my lazy brother do it.” Miyoon insisted but Myungsoo had already started cleaning the stained areas. Miyoon whipped her head to her brother who was smiling. She glared at him and mouthed ‘you’re dead.’
After Myungsoo was done mopping, Miyoon handed him a glass of lemonade. “You know, they’re a cool bunch. I never got a chance to hang out with them until tonight.” Myungsoo confessed as he and Miyoon lounged on the couch. Miyoon snickered and rolled her eyes.
“Oh, oh! You’re a dying walrus!” Luhan shouted. They were in the midst of a charades game which Myungsoo and Miyoon decided to sit out on because it was much more entertaining watching the six high school boys making fools out of themselves.
“Yah! How is that a walrus?” Tao questioned.
“Then you explain it since you know Kris so we
