The sky is still splashed with pastel cerulean and blush, but Jimin has already exited his bed, preparing himself to start the day. It isn’t the usual time Jimin would be up for his daily routine. However, he just happens to wake up earlier than he should, and he’s not sleepy anymore. The guy flicks his curtains off, letting only the sheer blinds covering half of the wide windows. Dawn remembers him of you, the morning air and silence should have supposed to soothe him, but the silence is awkward without you.

Even though both of you shared the same bed for a few weeks, Jimin has gotten used to your warmth cocooning him every time he wakes up. It has been months, and he really misses the days when he is able to have a good sleep, which probably months ago.

In a nutshell, Jimin misses you so bad.

And that when his phone pings in for a notification, and the message makes his day begins with a smile. Jimin swears that’s the most genuine smile he has ever made after moons. After reading the message, he immediately sends a reply.

His smile turns upside down, a tangible hint of concern blooms in his heart. It must have been really hard for you to keep all of your together, deeming that you’re not only a pressured top school student, but you’re also an athlete. The thought reminds Jimin about those dark circles and eyebags under your eyes, looking so prominent than ever and making you look like a walking zombie. Jimin knows that’s a norm for a student from an elite boarding school, but he really can’t help but to worry over the girl.

Well, because it’s his girl, that’s why.

Jimin sends you a ‘why’ question, giving a hunch for a nightmare. You’re lowkey astounded by how telepathy actually works between couples, because this is probably the first time for you to experience. Ready to type a ‘yes’ reply, something comes across your head, resulting for you to abort your earlier reply and type a new one.

It’s both sweet - because you seldom express your emotions and sap to him - and dejecting, because Jimin feels the same way, and he couldn’t be enough for you. He can feel his heart sinks a little. But he shrugs the gloomy thoughts off and tries to play it off with you, an attempt to brighten up the mood.

It’s been like months since the last time both of you have a very casual, warm and lively conversation. Joking around and being sappy, instead of just awkward greetings and ‘wyd’s. Moreover, none of you really got the chance to give a quick reply, resulting there’s always at least an hour or two gap in between their replies. Therefore, Jimin really does cherish this moment, getting to talk to you even though through texting at freaking dawn.

Oh. His birthday.

Well, Jimin does celebrate his birthday with Bangtan every year, but if what you’re actually trying to ask if he’s celebrating in their house, the answer would be no. For his past few years of living as an adult, Jimin really loves spending his early adulthood with attending parties and hitting the dance floors, not to mention the mega party he would usually throw for his birthday every year.

Well, his progression on dwindling amount of partying is quite natural, since he started spending most of his nights with you, and with works after you went for school. However, Jimin still does enjoy parties and clubs like he used to. And Jimin doesn’t think this year would make any difference. All of his friends are already accustomed to this tradition of his, indicating that he’d done this so many time.

Hence, Jimin replies.

You huff in a tangible dismay, eliciting a defeated sigh. How could Jimin put up his act so well when you show zero effort in playing your role in the relationship? You wish you can make it up to him, be the good girl who can wish her boyfriend’s birthday properly.

Just if Jimin knows what you’re up to.
