It was a day off, so everyone did what they wanted: Yeri was out with Saeron, Irene was doing laundry, Seulgi went out with Wendy, and Joy went out with her friends. You, on the other hand, was feeling exhausted so it felt like a good day just to stay in bed and maybe read some books. You were sitting on your bed, back against the headboard reading a book when a notification on your phone disturbed you. You usually don't bother to check notifications while reading but it felt like the right thing to do so you did. 

Turns out, it was a notification of an Instagram live your favourite senior was doing. You grinned before opening the app and watching it, her beautiful face that you missed so much appearing on your screen. 

"Hello, everyone! How are you doing today? I have some time before a photo shoot so I thought it would be a good idea to do a live," the figure smiled, her eyes turning into crescent moons. 

You smiled before sending a text, tuning back to the live to see her reaction. 

The figure received the notification and her eyes squinted, trying to read the text. 

Her eyes widened and her a grin appeared. "Eli-ah! She says she's watching. Eli-ah, hello!" 

You laughed, typing a comment. 

"Hello, Unnie! I miss you!" 

She read the comment. "I miss you too, Eli. Everybody! It's Eli from Red Velvet!" she shouted in excitement.

"I'm going to call you, okay? Hang on, let me borrow Taeyeon's phone." 

The singer turned around to find said figure, walking towards her in a haste. "Tae, can I borrow your phone? I want to call Eli." 

Taeyeon who was sitting on the makeup chair getting her hair done looked in the mirror to look at her, not being able to turn around due to the hairstylist. "Why don't you use your phone? Are you doing a live?" 

She smiled. "Yeah! Say hi!" She turned the phone towards Taeyeon so she could greet the crowd who freaked out the moment she appeared on the screen. 

"Hi! Sure, here," she gave her the phone, "stay close so I can talk to her as well." 

Tiffany grinned. "Thank you!" She then proceeded to open your contact and called you, resulting in your phone ringing. 

You picked it up, exiting from the broadcast that was happening. "Hello?" 

"Eli-ah, hello! Say hi to Tae and everyone!" 

You smiled despite knowing she wouldn't be able to tell. "Happiness! Hello, I'm Red Velvet's Eli. Hello, Taeyeon-unnie!"

Tiffany laughed and you also could hear Taeyeon's laugh in the background. "How are you, Eli? Unnie misses you!" 

Your smile turned into a sadder smile, missing your senior. "I'm good, Fany-unnie. You should come over sometimes so we can hang out! You're so busy these days," you teased. 

You couldn't see her face but you knew she was pouting. "Yah! Rude. Anyways, I'm gonna have to give the phone to Taeyeon and I'll call you later, okay?" 

"Okay, Unnie. I love you. Bye, everyone!" 

You could hear the smile in her voice. "I love you too, talk to you later!" 

A rustling could be heard from the other side before you hear a different voice coming from your favourite singer. "Eli?" 

"Tae-unnie! I miss you!" 

She laughed. "I miss you too, Eli! How have you been? What are you doing today?" 

The two of you continued your conversation, unaware that Tiffany was talking about you on her broadcast. 

"I'm going to answer questions now and I can see the theme here. 'Are you close with Eli?' Well, the answer would be an obvious yes!" 

She continued to read the comments that kept coming, almost all of them asking about her relationship with you. 

She sighed. "I'm just going to explain. Eli and I got close when she was still a trainee and we relate to each other because we're both foreigners and speak English. She's like my little sister and someone I can rely on for anything, really. Yeah, that's that I guess." 

Later that day, as promised, she called you to continue your short-lived conversation. 

"How are you doing, Eli?" 

You sighed. "I'm okay, Unnie. Just tired because we hadn't had much rest. How about you? You must be tired from all the schedule you have." 

She let out a sigh. "Yeah, but what can I do? I'm thankful for everything and I'm glad I'm not going through this alone." 

There was silence before she continued, her voice dropping slightly. "How are you dealing with everything? Your members helping you?" 

You knew she was referring to the recent scandals and you nodded on instinct. "Yeah, they've been a great help. To be quite honest I was more worried about Yeri and I kept thinking about how I don't take care of her enough," you sighed, finally letting out the problem that had been keeping you up at night. 

You hadn't talked about this to anyone, not even Irene because you felt like everyone had enough on their plates and it would feel silly to still be thinking about this. 

"What do you mean by that?" she asked softly. She had an inkling of what you meant but she wanted you to explain it to her. 

"It's just," you hesitated, "when I was comforting her the other day, I saw how tired she was and I felt like I didn't do enough that she could get into this situation in the first place." 

She stayed silent knowing you had more to say. "How could I not realise her overworking could affect her performance? Why didn't I do more to help her? I hated seeing her so sad and down. You don't know how much my heart broke when she cried, Unnie, I felt so helpless." 

Without realising you had teared up, thinking back to the situation that you tried so hard to avoid happening to your members even though you knew it's out of your hands. 

"Eli-ah," Tiffany scolded softly, "none of it is your fault. Yes, you didn't realise but did anyone? Yeri probably thought by practising harder she would get better, that's why she overworked herself. It's the same with you. You practice so much, then forget to eat, then end up not having enough stamina to actually perform on stage. Am I right?" 

You frowned, actually not realising that you had pretty much been doing the same thing. "Now that I think about it, I think you're right. I didn't know this, how do you know?" 

She laughed slightly. "I keep an eye on you, you know. Don't think just because I'm busy I don't take care of you anymore." 

You stayed silent, shocked at her words. You didn't know she kept an eye on you all this time, that was actually touching. 

"I didn't know, Unnie...." your voice soft, "since when?" 

She hummed. "I don't know. Since debut maybe? Don't worry about it. Just know that we're here for you, okay? If you want to take care of others you have to take care of yourself first, Eli. Remember that." 

Although slightly scared that she'd been keeping an eye on you without you even knowing, you appreciated her gestures. "Yes, I understand, Unnie. Thank you for everything." 

"Of course, Eli. We're here for each other, right?" 

You involuntarily smiled, knowing she couldn't see you. "Right. Now, your turn! How have you been doing? Any problem I should know about?" 

Your conversation continued through the night, being there for each other as promised.
