When you decided to become an idol, you were prepared for a lot of things. Fans, glamour, hard work, stress, pressure, even hate. You knew no matter what you do or achieve, you'll always face hate. What you didn't prepare for, however, was marriage proposals. The first one who got it was Seulgi during a fan event after your debut. It's true that she holds a lot of charisma and duality to her image, and people can't deny that. When she first got it, she was so shocked she gasped and just stared wide-eyed at the fan, making you laugh but also concerned. 

She eventually composed herself and denied it in kind, which she had been doing to numerous marriage proposals ever since. 

Now, you were next in line. You were naturally a quiet girl and that came with a lot of charm and charisma, and people (especially girl fans) couldn't get enough of that. A lot of fans became fans of you because of your girl crush image first and personality second, which you found no offence in, and a lot of people had acknowledged this fact. 

"I heard from someone that they became a fan of Red Velvet because of you, Eli-ssi." The interviewer brought up a topic you kind of knew the direction it was going. 

You smiled charmingly but genuinely. "Really? Thank you so much! I hope he or she enjoys our songs a lot." 

Your members nodded along and the interviewer gave you a smile. "Oh, I'm sure she is. She says your image drew her to you and I recently found out this had happened a lot. Is that true?" 

You laughed while the members nodded enthusiastically. "It's true! A lot of fans had told us that what drew them to the group was Eli!" Wendy answered with her loud voice, making the other people laugh and you to nudge her. 

"That's not completely true! It's either Irene-unnie or Seulgi-unnie that drew them to the group! I'm probably only a third factor or something," you joked, knowing it was somehow true. Irene's breathtaking beauty and Seulgi's charisma won over your image by a lot and it was something you found amusing, really. 

Joy nudged you in return, making you turn towards her. "Eli's just being humble," she turned towards the interviewer. "It may be true that it's Irene-unnie's beauty or Seulgi-unnie's charm that attracted them but it was Eli's image that really captured them to the group. She even got a few marriage proposals!" 

With that all of you laughed out loud, finding the fact funny. It was true that you had quite a few people directly asking you to marry them or discreetly trying to get you to sign a marriage contract, which you jokingly scolded the fan for. 

The interviewer gasped, turning his attention to you again. "Really? What do you do then?" 

You hummed before giving a nonchalant shrug. "Although I appreciate the gesture, I had to deny them of course. What I learnt from Seulgi-unnie is to deny them with care because I don't deny the love they have for me but the commitment the proposals carry."

Thinking it became too serious, you turned to tease. "I'm only committed to the members after all." 

With that the girls pretended to puke, seeing how greasy you were. A collected "Yah!" sounded and you laughed, finding it amusing when the members cringed because of your greasiness. 

"Who taught you to be this greasy again?" Irene couldn't help but comment, making you giggle. 

You winked at her. "It's either you or Wendy-unnie, Unnie." 

After the interview aired you thought the proposals would stop but they kept coming, fans making it some kind of a joke that you played along with. During a recent fansign, it was all going well before the first marriage proposal came. 

The fan looked shy and cute, and you couldn't help but cooed inwardly at her cuteness. She looked genuine and you greeted her with your warm smile, making her blush.

"Hello!" 

She blushed. "Hello, Eli-unnie." 

You gave her a smile, retrieving the album she offered you to sign. 

"How are you?" You asked while signing her album. She didn't provide her name so you just signed it "To You". 

"I'm okay, Eli-unnie. Although there's something that would make my day better." 

You frowned, looking up from the album. "Okay, what is it?" 

She retrieved a piece of paper from her bag and slid it towards you. "Will you marry me?" 

You actually didn't expect that so you turned slightly wide-eyed, leaning back against your seat. Irene, who was beside you, noticed the movement and looked at you worriedly. She didn't know why you stopped so suddenly but then noticed the paper on the table and huffed, taking her mic from beside her and spoke the dreaded words. 

"Eli just got a marriage proposal." Her mumbles cause the members to snap their heads up and towards your figure in the middle of the row, and the fans in the audience to scream. 

"Did she really?" Seulgi spoke into her own mic, completely forgetting about whatever she was doing. They all were. 

After a few seconds, you cooled your expression and hold the paper up, humming in thought in a jokingly manner. Of course you weren't going to accept it, and the fan knew it, but you thought it would be funny nonetheless. 

Irene noticed the movement and she gave you a fierce glare, prompting the members and the fans who notice to laugh. You just knew that this was going to turn into a meme of some sort. 

She slapped your arm and you laughed, looking at her before winking and turning back towards the blushing but giggling fan. 

You gestured towards your mic in an asking manner and the fan nodded, letting your answer be heard by everyone. "Joohyun-unnie would be mad at me forever if I accept so I have to decline, I hope you understand," before you could finish Irene cut you off with a loud "Eli-ah!" but you continued.

"Don't worry, I'll still remember you for the rest of my life as one of my marriage proposals," to which the fan blushed at and the members let out various offended sounds at how flirty and cheesy you were being. The fans in the audience screamed and laughed, either picturing or filming everything. Honestly, you just knew you were going to be trending by the end of the day.

You finished signing the fan's album and sent her on her way, noticing the way Irene was being pouty and sulky. You turned your attention towards her, cooing at her. You stood up and brought her into a hug while she was still sitting down, bending slightly so her face was on your chest. "Come here, Unnie."

The fans squealed and cooed at how cute the interaction was, admiring your close relationship. "Don't worry Bae Joohyun, you're forever in my heart," you added cheekily and she grumbled, slapping your back in response. You laughed and hugged her tighter. 

"Okay, that's enough. I'm getting jealous over here," Wendy said into her mic and pouted, glaring playfully at the both of you and making you pull back with a wide grin. 

"You're jealous? I'm jealous! Eli-ah, you better give me a hug after this too!" Joy joined in, making the fans laugh. 

You moved towards Wendy and gave her a big hug, Joy not too long after. You ended up hugging Seulgi and Yeri too and when you got back to your seat you spoke into your mic. 

"I'm sorry for making this fansign too long," the fans shook their heads in denial while yelling "It's okay!". You laughed before addressing your members. 

"Don't be jealous anymore, okay? Everyone gets a hug from me and I love you all a lot." 

Even though the members winced and gave all sorts of responses, you meant everything you said and they knew it. 

You just hoped no more marriage proposals came after this. You hated denying people and don't want them to think it was anything personal.

Plus, you don't know how many of these before Irene actually snaps and tells the fans to stop proposing to you. That would be something worth watching for sure.
