Coffee Date!

The Life of the Sixth Member

Ever since your interactions at ISAC, you've been keeping in contact with the girls from ITZY and you couldn't be happier. It was refreshing to have friends outside of the company that's actually younger than you because you got to act like big sisters to them, which you loved. It was a few days after that you got to actually go out for coffee due to your packed schedule for the comeback preparations and once you had time, you immediately contacted them and asked if they had free time from their promotions to have coffee with you and Yeri. The response you got made your heart soar.

"Unnie, are you sure you want me to come with you?" Yeri piped in after you informed her of your plans tomorrow, asking her whether she would like to join the coffee date. "You could handle hanging out with all of them at once, I'm sure."

Noticing the mischief in her eyes you glared at her. "I know I can but it would be better if you were there. You're closer to their ages, after all."

She snickered, getting the chance she needed. "Is this you admitting that you're old now?! Omo, I can't believe this day had finally come!"

"Kim Yerim!" You tackled her to the carpeted floor, tickling her in retaliation. She shrieked and attempted to wiggle out of your grasp to no avail. "Unnie, I'm sorry!" She eventually screamed out breathlessly with tears in her eyes. "I surrender! I surrender!"

You laughed and pulled back, finally having enough of your revenge. With all the noises the both of you were making, you were surprised none of the members actually came out of their rooms to see what was going on.

"You're old too. You're an unnie to all of them," you smirked, sitting up.

She sighed. "I know," she pouted sadly. "Even a lot of Luvies call me unnie now I feel so old!"

Hearing her rant you laughed, pulling up the arm she offered so she was sitting up too. "It's okay, Yerimmie. We'll be old together."

Both of you looked at each other before laughing out loud, bodies leaning against each other. You cherish moments like this.

'Unnie, we're here!' You looked down at your phone to see a message from Yeji. 'We sit at the end of the cafe, past the cashier. Can't wait to see you! ^_^'

You smiled, finding the way the girl text cute. Yeri saw you smiling and nudged you, making you look up from your phone.

"Is that a new frieeeend?" she dragged out the word as she smirked, her infectious giggle coming out.

You rolled your eyes and shoved her back. "You would know if I have any kind of partner, Yeri-ah. Hyun-unnie would flip," you shrugged nonchalantly. "It's Yeji, the way she texts is cute."

She became intrigued. She leaned in to see your phone and read the message, cooing at the text. "You're right. I could just imagine her eye-smile in that text."

Your eyes widened. "See? She's cute!" It's like you had found a new daughter it's kind of funny.

"Guys, we're here." The manager informed the two of you, stopping the car. Both of you looked out to see not too many people out so you looked at each other for a bit before nodding, agreeing to not wear facemasks.

You wanted to feel normal and go out without wearing facemasks when you didn't need to, and this was one of those moments.

You got out after your manager and when you neared the cafe door, you could see some girls on the street recognising you both. You smiled and waved, making them squeal and wave back shyly.

You laughed lowly before walking into the cafe, immediately looking for the ITZY girls. You looked towards the back of the cafe and saw them talking and laughing, their manager at the table near theirs.

You and Yeri walked towards them and they noticed, eyes turning wide and smiles erupting on their faces.

"Hello!" You greeted and they all stood up and bowed, greeting you back. You and Yeri didn't forget to bow to their manager before taking the empty seats provided by the girls. You sat next to Ryujin while Yeri sat near Yuna.

"As you know, this is my little sister Yeri," you introduced her out of courtesy, already knowing the girls knew who she was. The girls admired your relationship with Yeri and awed inwardly at you calling her your little sister in public. "Yerimmie, these are the girls from ITZY."

Yeri smiled her child-like smile at them, replying to their head bows. They all introduced themselves one by one.

"Yeri-sunbaenim, we love your songs! The new duet you did with GIant Pink-sunbaenim is so good!" You love how the girls were your fans and kept up to date with the members' individual activities.

"Thank you so much!" Yeri was glowing and you smiled proudly at her. "I love your songs too! ICY is so catchy and I learnt the dance with Eli-unnie!"

They all gasped and turned towards you, you smiling embarrassedly while trying to surpass your blush. You shrugged nonchalantly, trying to maintain your girl-crush image. "Really, Unnie? That's so cool!" Chaeryeong commented and the girls nodded in agreement.

You only smiled in response. "Have you all eaten?"

They shook their heads and you grinned. "Let's order then. Yeri, you want the usual?" Being a frequent customer of the cafe really came in handy because you already know what your members would want.

She nodded and smiled gratefully. "Yes, please. Thank you, Unnie."

You turned towards the girls. "There are a few dishes that I would like you to try. Are you on a specific diet?"

They looked at each other and shook their heads. "No, Unnie. We'll trust your judgement." Yeji commented and Yeri laughed, making you smile.

"Oh, you won't regret it."

You got up and went to order with your manager following behind you, already asking the girls' manager for what she'd prefer knowing you would want to treat everyone.

"It's okay to call me unnie too," Yeri added with her sweet smile.

The girls lit up with excitement. "Thank you, Yeri-unnie! We're so happy to get to know you and Eli-unnie, we're big fans." Lia's statement got nods of agreement from her members and they all looked so genuinely grateful she could only grin. She appreciated the gesture.

"Of course! Eli-unnie is so cool, huh?"

They gasped and nodded excitedly. "Has she always been like that?"

Yeri hummed, thinking. "She's always been caring towards everyone, especially the ones she's close with. Don't be scared if she starts to look after you all after this, she means well."

Ryujin tilted her head in confusion. "Why would we be scared?"

"Well," Yeri shrugged, "some people were shocked when she treated them with care and thought she wanted something in return so they stayed away and Eli-unnie gets sad every time." She sighed sadly, thinking back to the numerous failed attempts at friendship you've had. She hated those people for making you sad.

"I hope you won't do the same. If you feel like she's being too much, just tell her. She'd rather you do that than ghosting her because you didn't know how to tell her."

Yeri turned serious, a serious glare in her eyes. "I hate seeing her sad and if that's you doing it, I would know." She implicitly threatened and the girls turned slightly wide-eyed in fear before nodding, acknowledging her threat.

"Don't worry, Yeri-unnie." Yuna eventually replied and Yeri turned towards her. "We love her and we appreciate this friendship very much. We wouldn't want to hurt her."

The others looked determinedly at her and she nodded in satisfaction, knowing the girls meant what they said. "Then we can be good friends."

You finished ordering and went back to the table to see the girls laughing over something with Yeri's infectious laughs being the loudest. You grinned, loving the interaction already.

"What did I miss?"

You chatted over food and coffee, having some deep talks about the struggles the girls were dealing with and what you've been through, providing some suggestions and solutions.

"Before we leave, is there anything else you want to know?"

They all looked at each other for a while, looking a bit lost. It was quiet before somebody gasped in realisation.

Lia turned towards you. "Unnie, what to do if some idols want to get close to you?"

You immediately knew where she was going with this and you looked at Yeri, seeing her nod. She agreed. "Be very careful," you gave them a genuine, warm smile and they couldn't believe they could see this smile up close. "If you don't have a dating ban and you feel like it's the right thing to do, then go for it. Always tell your members because they would help you the best they could and also your company."

"Always consider if it's worth the hassle of sneaking around, if you have to, and being the talk of the town. If you think it's not, then don't get in a relationship." You looked them in the eyes one by one, making them know this was something serious. "Being an idol shouldn't prevent you from dating but always be careful, okay?" You ended it with a reassuring smile.

They digested everything before nodding, Yeri patting your thigh. "Thank you, Unnie. We'll always keep that in mind." Yeji replied and gave you her signature smile, making you smile back.

"Of course, Yeji-ah. If there's anything, just text or call me, okay? I'll always listen." They all nodded and smiled in thanks, getting up from their seats which made you and Yeri stand up too.

"We'll see you during your promotions, Unnie!"

"Don't forget to say hi, okay?" Yeri piped in, making all of you laugh.

"Of course, Unnie. Thank you for today and for everything! We hope we can be friends for a long time." They bowed and you bowed back before coming closer and raising your hands in a hugging gesture.

They giggled before stepping up and hugging you in turns, you giving your warmth to them.

You're glad you got to have new friends, more like new daughters, and give them the support they need. You hoped you could help somehow.

At first I wrote this for me but I'm definitely ecstatic because other people find it fun too. I hope this story, even though I can't upload as often as I used to, can still provide you with the same feeling after a long day. I really appreciate all of you beyond words can explain ♥️

Hi, everyone! I'm sorry for being so absent these past few months or even a year. I've been dealing with a lot and every time I open a new chapter to write, I always lose the creativity T_T I'm so sorry. Recently, I've just lost an uncle who loved me very much and I've been dealing with the loss. Thank you for always reaching out to me and waiting for a new chapter, I promise I will try to write soon. I also apologise for not replying to your comments, the website is not allowing me to do so I'm not sure why so I just write it here. I really appreciate all of you and I hope we can be here enjoying the stories I write for a long time. Thank you and I hope I'll see you soon ❤️
