School was nearing its end and you realised that your life was just about to go downhill.
You journeyed through your day, going to each class and smiling every time someone talked to you.
But inside you felt your heart rapidly beating. Your stomach tied in an eternal knot. Your fingers forever fidgeting and you knew why.
You couldn’t stop the undying feeling growing inside of you. A feeling of fear. A feeling of uncertainty. A feeling of anxiety. You couldn’t help thinking:
What if it all goes wrong?
What if I try so hard but nothing comes out of it?
What if no one accepts me?
There was only so much you could do to hide these thoughts inside you but you seemed to be doing well, the way everyone continued to talk to you, boasting about their university acceptances, about their new jobs, about their happiness showed that they cared not for you but about their own futures and that they were going to be okay.
But were you?
As soon as you got home, you rushed into your kitchen, expecting to see your mother there, cutting salad or something. So you could run into her arms and get her to comfort you about everything.
But then you remembered that both your parents were away on business.
You slouched to the floor. Great.
Before you broke down in tears, the doorbell rang and your head jerked up. Who could it be?
When you opened the door, you remembered-
“Baby!” Jimin exclaimed, running into the house and enveloping you in a hug, almost lifting you off the floor.
-you told him to come over.
“Hey oppa,” you giggled, feeling your tears seep back into your eyes.
Boom. Boom. Boom.
There it was again. Your anxiety was going to do some damage and you felt it.
“Guess what I brought for my girl?” he asked, running back outside.
“What did you bring?” you smiled at him, leaning against the doorframe.
He lifted two plastic bags full of chips, chocolate and noodles.
“Yay!” you cheered as he walked past you and put them on the counter.
But you couldn’t stop the fear gnawing in the pit of your stomach.
When he put it down, he walked over to you, placing each hand on your sides.
“Why are you still in your uniform?” he asked, worried.
“I just got lost in my own thoughts and forgot,” you smiled back at him but he just furrowed his eyebrows in concern.
“What thoughts?”
