“ Get out of my way loser!” I get shoved to the side as the miss popular of our school walks through the halls. I sigh, fixing my chin length hair. I always get pushed around no matter where I go. I grab my handful of books from my locker before walking to the library to return them. After that, I walk to my apartment. Even if I'm only an 11th grader, I have a job and live by myself in an apartment. As I walk, I notice couples almost everywhere. I smile slightly. I've always wondered what it would be like to fall in love. But I feel like that can't happen since boys don't like me. They think I'm too quiet and smart. Suddenly I hear something. It sounds like meowing. I look around and walk to the alley where the meowing is coming from. There in a dumpster is a orange tabby cat, with the biggest brown eyes I've ever seen.

“ Hey little guy!” I said picking the cat up. He was slightly dirty, and it seems like his arm was broken.

“ Poor little fella. I'll take care of you!” I said snuggling him into my chest. He looks up at me, his eyes curved into a eye smile. I giggle as I get to my apartment. I set the cat on the couch as I get a first aid kit. I slowly wrap his arm in a bandage, and give him some milk.

“ You really hungry huh.” I ask him, he only mews and drinks the milk. I smile widely. I stand and go to work on my homework. The cat walks to me and jumps into my lap, wrapping into a ball.
