“Alright, we’ll begin now”

“So what exactly is going on?” Taeyeon asked

“Yes it’s true. We were cooperating with several mafias to smuggle weapons, drugs, illegal immigrants, and nuclear weapons into the country” Mr. Hwang said.

“And I helped them circulate the money so the government won’t trace their whereabouts” Mr. Jung said.

“There was a plan to overthrow the current government with the threat of nuclear warfare. Well actually, they were going to create enough chaos on the streets to divert the police’s attention then use the extra manpower we helped them accumulate to distract the military. Then finally, they would storm the government and threaten war” Mr. Hwang sighed in relief; a huge weight was taken off his shoulders.

“We really didn’t know about the overthrowing part until the bombs were in the making. We realized that it was getting out of hand so we backed out…..slowly until even I stopped circulating their money” Mr. Jung added

“Okay…..and that’s when they started to threaten you?” Yuri scribbled notes down.

“It didn’t escalate that quickly. They tried to get us to participate again by increasing the amount we got back but we really didn’t want to do it.” Mr. Jung said in remorse

“That’s when they threatened to kill our daughters” Mr. Hwang said.

“And then you requested help from the military right?” Taeyeon asked; she was beginning to understand the situation.

“But why? It directly involves the government. Even if we didn’t find out, someone would figure it out eventually” Yuri pointed out

“Have you ever heard of the saying that the most dangerous place is the safest place?” Mr. Hwang asked.

“Yeah” Taeyeon and Yuri nodded in understanding.

“We thought they wouldn’t dare mess with them while they’re under military protection” Mr. Jung said.

“But they did” Taeyeon said.

“I understand what you tried to do but there’s another problem” Yuri stopped writing and looked up.

“What is it?” Mr. Hwang and Mr. Jung both looked at Yuri, surprised.

“Our disappearance that day. We were attacked on base by who we thought we colleagues. They’ve been missing ever since” Taeyeon said.

“We suspect there’s someone pulling the strings and this someone has some connection to the government……no, the army” Yuri said while scratching her head

“If someone was going to take us down, they’d have to know what we were doing……but who” Taeyeon turned off the voice recorder and put her phone back into her pocket.

“I think that’s it for today, if there’s anything else we’ll contact you” Yuri said and stood up

“Thank you” Taeyeon and Yuri bowed and headed for the door

“Take care of our daughters” Mr. Hwang said before they left

Taeyeon and Yuri left the office and prepared to take their girlfriends back to the base.

“Wait Taeng” Yuri stopped Taeyeon as they walked down the long hallway to the living room
