Jasmine Garcia was born in Cebu,Philppines.There her mother Annabell raised her up by herself since her biological father Tae-Woo left her mother to be with his ex-wife Sohee again but they promised each other to stay friends. Her mother used to work as a Stewardess but now as a model in the Philippines only. Jasmine got only homeschooled because her mother wanted her to.

When Jasmine was 12 years old,her mother got sick with cancer.So she entered the competition 'Binibining Pilipinas Young International' and won as the 2nd Runner up. With the prize money she could only pay the rent bills for their apartment because the theraphy for her mother was too expensive.
One day she asked her mother the name of her father so could look for him and ask him for help.Annabell told her that her father lives in Seoul.To buy a ticket,Jasmine started to work as a young model in her mothers agency,which took her immediately because Annabell was one of the best and she was a good friend of the owner. When Jasmine had enough money she bought a ticket and flew to Seoul to find her father.

Once Jasmine found him she was surprised as she saw that she had two older sisters,Sooyoung and Soo Jin.She told him that her mother was sick and that she need help because she couldn't do it by herself.Tae-woo assured her that he will help her and Annabell.At first his wife Sohee was unsure with having her step-daughter and her husbands ex around but then she was ok because her daughters accepted their step-sister immediately.

Tae-woo bought.with Jasmines money, a apartment near them so they can check on Annabell anytime when Jasmine was away.Living now happily with her whole family she changed her name to Choi Soo Yun.
Annabell was very happy when she and the Choi family found that Soo Yun was a trainee under the HeartRockTearz and support her anytime they can.
