20 days with the arrogant jerk (오만 바보와 이십일)
(Kim Hyung Joong’s POV)
“Hyung Joong dear, wake up. Someone is here to see you.” I decided to stay back at the house. The house where we had tons of memories as well. I yawned and rubbed my eyes as the sunlight kissed my skin. I sat on the bed and looked around confused.
“What’s the time aunt?” I asked her softly causing her to chuckle. “It’s 2 in the afternoon already. You told me not to wake up because you had no shifts today. You have guests Hyung Joong. I prefer seeing you in 10 minutes downstairs.” Aunt said to me before grabbing the laundry basket with her.
Who would come see me at a time like this? Especially at 2pm in the afternoon. I grabbed my t-shirt and did something good with my messed up hair and walked down the stairs to see who the guests were. I wasn’t too excited to make a trip to the bathroom to get freshened up. I just wanted to go quickly and see who ruined my good sleep.
“Aunt, I’m her- OMG!” like a little girl who found out her dairy, I squealed when I saw them. “Hmph!” my little sister crossed her arms across her chest and tried to ignore me when I took her into my arms. She was no longer little. That 4 year old girl I used to see is now 11 years old though she still acts like a baby.
“When did you come back?” I nuzzled her face making her scream and giggle and to make me stop. “We came back this morning though you were sleeping and decided to let you get some rest.” Dad told me as he kept his hands on my shoulder.
It was like a dream come true to see my family back in Korea after so long. It’s been 7 years since they have been here. “Did you meet Sara yet?” I asked mom softly causing her to shake her head. “I think she is at the hospital still. She is somewhat in a shock from what happened yesterday.” I explained to her as I kept Yuri on the ground. Yuri ran towards the cat Seol takes care of.
“Where is noona?” I asked her softly once again because she was being too quiet. “She said she’ll be back with Jun Hyung on the next flight. She’ll be here by tonight. Hyung Joong ah, can we ask Yoo Hee and her family for dinner tonight?” mom asked me softly causing me to nod my head.
“Sure why not? If Sara is not busy that would be.” I replied back as I hugged her from behind making her squeal. “Hyung Joong will never grow up.” Aunt said to mom softly causing dad to let out a scoff. “He is our only son and the second child. Obviously he won’t. He is too spoilt according to Gina.” Dad replied causing everyone to let out a chuckle.
“Oh! It’s Sara unnie!” Yuri cried out and ran out of the house causing me to run after her leaving everyone behind. I heard the chuckle and heard their footsteps following me and Yuri. “Unnie! Sara unnie!” Yuri clinged onto her waist causing her to let out a squeal and to look down in surprise.
“Yuri ah? When did you-? What are you-? What are you doing here?!” Sara cried out in surprise as she hugged her tightly. I smiled as I slowly walked up to the fence with my hands in my pants pockets. Sara stopped her giggling and laughing as soon as she saw me. “Hyung Joong.” She called out my name softly causing me to nod my head.
“Sara ah! Omo, you look so grown up and lady like.” I watched her expression the moment mom said to her. I had to bite back a chuckle cause of her expression. I know how much she hates the word ‘Lady like’. It’s just simply not her thing though she sure did grow up to become a wonderful lady. I smiled as mom hugged her.
“Is your mom home?” mom asked her causing her to nod her head. “Mrs. K can’t you come now? Mom would be so much happy to see you after so long. Look at you, you lost so much of weight even Mrs. K.” she commented causing mom to let out a laugh in happiness. I smiled as she led them to her house which was just next door.
“Uhm thanks. For yesterday.” Sara spoke up as my parents walked to her house. I nodded my head. “It’s alright. That’s the least I can do I guess.” I replied causing her to shook her head. I smiled as she waved me good bye before walking away.
“Oppa?” I heard Seol’s voice as I turned around to walk into the house. “Oh Seol ah? Where were you?” I asked her softly as I wrapped my hands around her shoulder in a brotherly way. She chuckled and hugged me from sideways.
“I got your favorite chocolate jar.” She said to me proudly while waving the chocolate jar in front of me, causing me to let out a chuckle. “Alright, let’s go inside.” I said and walked into the house. “Seol ah? When is your brother coming back?” I asked her softly as I made my way to the staircase.
“Oh oppa? He said he will try to make it by tonight, because there is something he wants to announce even according to him.” Seol bleh-ed before making her way into the kitchen making me let out a chuckle. Will my sister also have that cute attitude? Aigoo.
What is he gonna announce? I’m so curious. Letting out a sigh, I made my way to the bathroom to take a shower. It’s good to sleep in my own house, and in my own room.
(Jung Somin’s POV)
“Omo, look who got back from Australia after 7 years?” mom cried out as she hugged the 11 year old Yuri. She is so grown up to the point I didn’t know that it was the little Yuri who used to cling on me.
“Aunty, did you miss us?” Yuri still had that cute accent of hers making everyone ‘aww’ at her adorableness. I chuckled before pulling her cheeks. I kneeled in front of her and stared at her hard with a huge smile. “Unnie honestly didn’t miss you at all. I didn’t know if you would be coming back even.” I said to her as I pulled her nose softly. She squealed and giggled like a 5 year old.
I stood up and looked at Mrs. K who was smiling from ear to ear. “Where is Gina unnie?” I asked her softly causing her to smile at me and mom.
“Oh, she’ll be here by tonight. She took the next flight to be back. Tomorrow she might be busy with her weddings and all. It’s because we want her to get married tomorrow night.” Mrs. K’s news made me excited alright. I smiled at her before making my way out of the living room to the garden. I got a call from him and had to pick it.
“What is it?” I asked the moment I picked it up. “Whoa! You sound annoyed.” He replied back causing me to let out a chuckle. “I’m not; it’s just there are tons of things happening at the house, that’s all.” I replied causing to hear him laugh.
“I’m allowed to go out tonight, so I thought I’ll stop by home and see you tonight.” He said to me. I knew that tonight is gonna be hectic cause they came back and all. “Tonight? Sorry, I don’t think I can. It’s very hectic here. I have a dinner as well.” I replied causing him to let out a chuckle.
“I have a feeling we might see each other tonight.” He replied causing me to only wonder what he meant by that. “Maybe.” I replied as I looked around to see Seol furiously waving hands at me. I chuckled softly and waved hands back at her.
“Listen, I gotta go now. But I know I’ll see you tonight alright. I got a surprise for you as well so don’t be surprised okay?” he said to me softly causing me to smile. He is a gentleman, unlike someone I knew for ages. “Sur
