“Finally!” Hannah cried out as she ran into the school organizing hall after school. “It’s been 4 months since we have been back from that crappy trip.” Hannah cried out into the empty hall where only her and her best friends with some other friends were.
“And 3 weeks for our board exam to start.” Excitedly Hannah cried out once again making Sara to roll her eyes and shook her head.
“Yea yea I can hear that Hannah, so shut up and get your to work so that this prom can be a success?” Sara cried back making Hannah to glare playfully at her best friend. Hannah nodded when Sara gave the are-you-serious look.
“What is the theme?” Hannah asked to Sara who was ticking some stuffs from her iPad. “I don’t know, I’m still wondering what to choose. Any idea?” Sara asked her making her shrug. “I think I do.” Sara just had to roll her eyes at that familiar voice.
“Hello Nam Shin Ae. I thought you took a day off.” Sara said back at her worst enemy without facing that which almost made Hannah to burst into laughter due Sara’s funny way of replying back at Shin Ae.
“Oh, how can i? If I’m not here no one would be helping you with the decorating. No one helping in I meant, no one would be taking part. Like right now.” Shin Ae pointed out by pointing out the prom committee who was busy talking rubbish.
Sara let out a sigh and rubbed her forehead. “Right, why didn’t I think of that?” She replied back and as soon as Shin Ae turned around Sara had to make faces at her and almost hit her with her purse.
“Calm down Sara.” Hannah held Sara’s hand and whispered to her making her calm down a little bit. “Right, as if it’s very simple. I feel like killing that urgh.” She groaned as she made her way to the center with Ye Eun the other freaking best friend of Shin Ae.
“Alrighty than, can you all calm down?” Shin Ae cried out making Sara to let out a groan. “Maybe this is for the best.” Sara whispered to Hannah as she sat on the floor in Indian style next to Shin Ae.
(Jung Somin’s POV)
Wow, god knows how much I hate her. I couldn’t help but glare at that Shin Ae. She deserves some bullying back though I don’t think I’m that jobless. “Hey Sara, we decided to take disco as a theme.” I couldn’t help but just get annoyed by that freaking voice.
Giving a fake smile, I looked at them. “Disco? Sure why not? Though don’t complain when you all would be wearing long lengthy dresses and when you can’t dance on the floor cause of the dresses.” I replied back making Shin Ae to let out a slight groan to her.
“I think it would be okay, after all, our teachers will also be participating you know.” Ye Eun took Shin Ae side. Of course, the bloody ing twins would be taking each other’s side. Oh did I mention? They are twins from another mother. More like evil twins.
I shared a stare with Hannah who was sitting beside me. “I feel like I need to puke.” I whispered to Hannah making her let out a low giggle. “Endure it for now.” She replied making me glare at her.
“That’s it? Like that it got finalized?” Rachel asked me making me shrug. “You know Ye Eun was on Shin Ae side making the rest of the prom team to be on their side. I wonder who the prom committee president is now. Oh wait, its me.” I replied back sarcastically making Rachel smile.
“Of course it’s you. And Ye Eun.” Rachel replied making me give me a playful glare at her. “We are gonna start the decorating tomorrow. Do you wanna come?” I asked her making her smile. “Is Chansung going? And his friends too?” Rachel asked back making me and Hannah to share a look again.
It’s been 4 months since they fought and broke up as well. Just like me. Letting out a sigh I nodded. “Yea, they are coming to help. After all, Taecyeon is the current coconut tree you know.” I tried to light up the atmosphere by cranking up a very epic fail joke which made her smile weakly.
“I’ll go, but after school I’ll need to make a quick pit stop to home.” Rachel spoke up making me nod my head. “We decided to sleep at Sara’s place tonight.” Hannah spoke up making me to turn around in a snap.
“My place? Who said so? When did I say yes?” I asked in surprise. I don’t want to bring my best friends right now. I would rather go over to their place.
“Please, I wanna get rid of my mom for a few days.” Hannah spoke up making me raise an eye brow. “Honey, I’m also in the same boat rowing as far as I can but I can’t.” I replied making Rachel to look at us both bickering.
“Why don’t you guys come over to my place? No one is there, I’m living alone duh.” Rachel spoke up matter of factly making both of us to shrug and nod our head. “Why didn’t I think of that?” Hannah spoke up making me shrug.
“Okay, I’ll meet up with you guys from Rach house. Let’s meet up soon okay?” I cried out as I ran towards the exit of the school. I wasn’t excited to go home though I was excited about going to Rachel’s place after a long time.
“I’m home.” I cried out as I walked into the quiet house of mine. It was surprisingly quiet. Did they fight again? “Mom? Dad?” I cried out as I walked into the living room to see mom crying with Aunty K. “Mom what’s wrong?” I asked in surprise and sat beside her.
“Your dad cheated behind your mom’s back.” Auntie K spoke up making me feel sick to my stomach. “What do you mean by cheating? Dad has another woman?” I asked mom making her shock her head.
“It happened when you were 1 years old. I remember clearly when I ran away from home with you dear. You have a step sister. She will be coming here today. Her mom died due to cancer and your dad wants me to treat her like my own daughter.” She replied making me to bite my lower lips.
“I have no other choice but to treat her like my own daughter from now on.” Mom continued talking through her tears which made me want to kick my dad so badly.
“No!” I cried out making mom to look up through her tears. “I’m not accepting her. I don’t want another sibling. Being one is enough for me.” I cried out again as I ran up the stairs to my room.
2014 surely is the worst year for me. I lost my boy friend and in the end I’m getting a step sister. How awesome can this be? It's like Nam Shin Ae surely is a walking curse for me.
Changing into something comfortable I walked down the stairs to the living room with my back pack. I couldn’t wait to go over to my best friends place now and I want to never come back. “Sara…” mom spoke up and from the corner of my eyes I caught a blonde girl who would probably be one year younger than me or just a few months younger than me.
“This… this is Jung Risa. She is your step sister.” Mom introduced her to me with a smile making me look at her blankly. Was she smiling by force? Or was it real? Without replying I turned towards my dad who was smiling proudly as if he did something that he should be proud of.
“Sara, she is just 1 year younger than you.” Dad spoke up which almost made me feel sick to my stomach. I seriously couldn’t help but start hating my dad. I saw Uncle Kim and Hyung Joong sitting across my dad.
Hyung Joong caught my eyes which I tried to avoid. I tried to smile though it ended up with a sigh. “I’m going to sleep over at Rachel’s place. I have to work on the prom.” I said to them flatly and walked out leaving everyone behind and also without for no replies.
They were too much hooked up on my step sister now. Soon enough everyone will start loving her. I will be nothing. Just, why dad? I wonder if I was never enough to dad.
Unconsciously I sat on the swings behind the house. I couldn’t go over to my best friends place looking like complete crap. I had to hold onto myself somehow. The door to backyard suddenly opened making me look up to see Hyung Joong.
Letting out a sigh, I let my head hang on again. The more I don’t want to meet him, I’m. Chansung breaking up with Rachel, it hurts her. And it hurts me when I see Hyung Joong every single time. Telling little white lies saying he is no longer important to me.
