Your POV

The next morning when I was making myself ready for school I had an uneasy feeling in my gut. It was the same uneasy feeling that had kept me awake during most of the night.   

I couldn’t help but to feel absolutely horrible. But I didn’t love Chanyeol. Right? So therefor I couldn’t possibly tell him yes, especially not when there was someone else…  

Hey, maybe Chanyeol will be his usual self, so don’t act weird around him Naeun, it’ll just make HIM feel weird. I thought and gave myself an encouraging look in the mirror to boost my confidence for the day.

“How was it at Chanyeol’s?” Sohyun asked me the second we met up outside school.

I sighed. “You don’t want to know.”  

Sohyun stopped. “What are you talking about? What happened?” she asked.

“I don’t want to talk about it.” I said and opened the door to our hallway. I had decided to not share this with Sohyun. Yet. 

I had expected her to go on and in the end make me tell her but she seemed to give in and just leave me alone with my problems.

I was about to open my locker when a red-blonde hair mane catched my eyes. I looked to the side and saw Chanyeol leaning on a wall by his locker, checking something on his phone.    

I’m sorry. I said but not out loud. I’m sorry I don’t love you. I kept looking at him and studying his tall, skinny body and his cute, always as wild hair.       

“Hey there Naeun!”  

I turned around startled and looked Baekhyun in the eyes. He was standing close to me, smiling as if he wasn’t just like every other teenager – constantly in the need of more sleep -. 

“Good morning” I smiled slightly and opened my locker.   

“So… How was your day yesterday?” Baekhyun asked and leaned against the locker next to mine.

“Ehh… It was…Fine.” I lied and took out my chemistry book.    

“Good.”  

Baekhyun kept talking with me all the way to chemistry class about his soccer practice and how his trainer had told him he had great potential. 

Half of me was thrilled that Byun Freaking Baekhyun was talking to me while the other side couldn’t help but to wonder why he all of a sudden talked to me as if we had been good friends forever, when the truth was that he hadn’t really spoken much to me like…ever.    

Chanyeol’s POV

I couldn’t stand seeing her. It was so hard. Why did she have to be so damn…Wonderful? It was the best word to describe her, but I WISH I could describe her with words like hideous, evil or pathetic. But that would all be lies.    

How had this happened? How did I fall for her? When did this happen? Maybe it had all really started when she came to the ice cream bar while I was there waiting for Hara that time she stood me up. Maybe it had started when we walked together from that crappy movie that I had already watched. Maybe…

And as if it wasn’t hard enough to ignore her and still make myself trying to feel good, Baekhyun had to show up and talk to her and carry her books as if he was her real boyfriend. And it wasn’t as if anyone was still pretending about all of that.

Even though it actually made me feel more hurt to think that Naeun had picked Baekhyun over me, it was probably the truth. I had realized and I knew he liked her back. But I didn’t know if he liked her the way I did…    

“You look happy.”

I turned to my side but didn’t see anyone.

“Down here.”

I looked down and saw Sohyun. “Oh, hi.” I muttered as we walked to our chemistry class.

“You look happy.” She repeated herself and I glanced at her.

“Well I’m not.” I stated and wished she’d just go away.

“Why? Does it have something to do with Naeun?” she asked and I stopped in my tracks for a second but then continued walking without answering. “You’re kind of revealing that she’s what it’s about when you do like that.” Sohyun said.

“So?” I shrugged.  

“Did you kiss her or something?” Sohyun asked as she sat down next to me in the classroom as if we were buddies.

I didn’t answer this time either.

“Oh my God, you did?” She asked and gaped at me.  

“No. Not yesterday.” I muttered.

“So, you have before?” she asked and stared at me with round eyes that made me feel uncomfortable.    

“Maybe…”  I just said. “But it was more like a peck.”

“Gee, this is SUCH a mess.” Sohyun said and rolled her eyes. “Do you like her?” She asked.

I shrugged. I didn’t know what to answer. What was I supposed to answer?

“Oh the Lo-“ 

“Just leave me alone would you!?” I snapped just as the teacher entered the classroom to start.

“Okay… sorry.” Sohyun said and moved to the empty chair next to Naeun. The one that Baekhyun wasn’t sitting on.     

Your POV

After class I decided to ask Chanyeol if he had gotten the homework. I had completely understood what our homework was, but I just needed an excuse to talk to Chanyeol, just to get him talking to me again.  

“Hey, Chanyeol.” I said as I approached him in the hallway.

He turned and looked at me. “Eh…Hi.” He said and sounded awkward.

“So…Could you help me with the homework? I didn’t quite understand what we had to do.” I asked and fippled with my book to get up the page we had been told to learn.

“I didn’t understand either. I’m sorry but maybe someone else can help you.” Chanyeol said with a completely emotionless voice and left me standing in the hallway as he walked to next class.

This kept going for days. The whole week was the same. He avoided me as much as possible. He even made sure Kai, D.O. or Suho took my orders when I came to the ice cream bar.

It did really hurt me and it made me almost regret that I hadn’t accepted him.

By Friday night I was tired of it and decided to write to him on facebook.   

I had always been the person who liked to take things face-to-face and not via texts or some chat on the internet, but since Chanyeol didn’t talk to me, I had to do something.  

He wasn’t online which for some reason was better, then I could write without having him read it right away.

I took a deep breath and started writing.

Hi Chanyeol. I know you’re probably mad at me, or maybe you feel hurt or awkward or maybe it’s everything at once. I’m so sorry. I never wanted this to happen and I hope we can go back to being friends, ‘cause I miss you. I really do.     

All of a sudden, his words from the night I went to his house echoed in my head.

“But if I was your boyfriend you wouldn’t lose me. I’d be there all the time.”

Finally I had time to update again. School is eating me up... Very well, it was at least a pretty long chapter ^^
