It was barely two days before you met with your father again, ever since the day he announced that you would be forced to get married to Chunji. You sat down at one of the chairs in his office with your arms crossed, never daring to look at your father’s face.

He sighed at your ignorance and finally spoke out. “The reason that I called you out here is because I wanted you to meet your fiancé first.”

“I don’t want to.”

“You have to, ____. Just give him a chance. You’ll probably even like him,” your dad tried to persuade you.

“Whatever,” you bluntly said.

A knock came at the door. “Come in,” your father said.

You heard the door opening and footsteps coming closer, but you didn’t bother to lift your head up to see who it was.

“Chanhee! I’m so glad you could make it,” you heard your dad cheerfully saying.

“No problem, Mr. Jin. It’s so nice to finally meet you,” a young man’s voice replied.

“This is my daughter, ____. Sorry, she’s still getting used to the whole arranged marriage situation.”

“I see. I don’t blame her,” you heard him sitting down on a chair next to you.

“____, please greet your new fiancé,” your father said.

“Annyeong,” you muttered.

“____,” your dad raised his voice a little. “Can you at least look at Chanhee?”

You sighed heavily and turned your gaze towards the young man. What you didn’t expect was that he actually turned out to be incredibly handsome. His eyes seemed to sparkle towards you.

He flashed a smile. “Annyeong, ____. I’m Lee Chanhee. But you can call me Chunji.”

You blinked at him, still amazed at his attractiveness. But you quickly snapped out of it and mentally slapped your head. No, you have to stay strong! I can’t give in to this arranged marriage!

You slightly nodded your head at him then looked away from his gaze. Your dad saw the awkwardness between you two and cleared his throat. “Well, now that the introduction is over, you two should go for lunch together, it’ll be great bonding time.”

“What?” you bursted. “I don’t want to! Introduction is already enough.”

“____, don’t argue with me.”

You reluctantly stayed silent.

Chanhee just smiled. “Yes, Mr. Jin. We will go do that as you wish.”

“Good,” Mr. Jin smiled back at ease. “Now off you two go.”

As soon as you two left the office, Chunji never bothered to look or talk to you and just walked ahead.

You were puzzled at his ignorance. “Lee Chanhee—“

“First of all,” he suddenly turned around and gave you a cold look. “Call me Chunji. Second, we’re not going out for lunch together. Got it?”

You were mildly surprised at his change of attitude from back at the office where he was polite to you.

“But I thought my father said—“

“Do you want to get lunch with me?”

You grew quiet.

He smirked. “I thought so. I saw the way you acted back there. Don’t think I’m happy with this either.”

He glanced carelessly at one of the certificates posted on the wall. “Besides, I’m only agreeing to do this since I’m going to take over my father’s company in the future. So don’t get any ideas.”

You glared at him in disbelief. “So you’re one of those two-faced jerks who would do anything to get what they want, huh? I pity you.”

And to think he was so handsome, yet he has an ugly side of him!

“Judge me in any way you want, I’ll be sure to get my reward in the end.”
And with that, he walked away, leaving you angered and irritated.
