Author’s POV

 

“I can’t believe it actually happened,” Jeong says.

“I know. It feels weird packing her things,” Scynthia says as she packed some stuff in a duffel bag.

“It’s kind of surreal, you know? We’ve been visiting her almost every day and now she’s. . .gone,” Jeong says.

Scynthia lets out a sigh and runs her hand through her hair.  “I know. It’s kind of weird, her not being here and all.”

“Yeah,” Jeong says.  “Well, I think we packed the last of her things. We should get going now,” he says before picking up the boxes and heading out of the door.

Scynthia heads to the doorway but then looks back at the room and scans it before turning the light off and closing the door behind her.

 

 

 

 

Royalty’s Dorm

 

Rose was in the kitchen with Jin, helping him make dinner.  BTS and Royalty were having a ‘family’ dinner tonight.

“You know, it’s still kind of hard to believe,” Rose says as she puts the salad in the salad bowl.

Jin nods without looking away from the stove.  “Yeah, but at least she’s in a better place now."

“I definitely second that!” Rose says.

“We’re back!” Scynthia yells as she and Jeong enter the dorm with the packed boxes and bags.

“You know I could’ve helped,” Hoseok says as he takes the bags away from Scynthia.

“It’s f-fine,” Scynthia says as she feels his hands brush against hers as he takes the bags away from her.

“Where’s everyone at?” Jeong asks as he and Hoseok come back from placing the boxes and bags down.

“Well, as you can see, Tae and Kookie are playing video games,” Rose says before shaking her head and rolling her eyes.

Jin laughs at her.  “She’s just mad because they beat her the last round. She just came in to help me like five minutes ago,” he says.

“Hey! I didn’t lose. They just cheated,” Rose says with a pout.

“Don’t lie noona!” Jungkook yells from the living room, “we beat you fair and square.”

“Hell yeah we did!” Taehyung says before fist bumping Jungkook.

“YAH!” Rose yells.

“Anyways,” Hoseok says, “Hyun, Namjoon, and Jimin went to the convenient store to get some drinks.”

“You mean you actually got Jimin to leave the dorm?” Jeong asks in shock.

“Tch, we basically had to kick him out, literally,” Rose says, making everyone else laugh.

“You can’t really blame him after what happened. I’d probably act the exact same way,” Hoseok says as he tries to hold Scynthia’s hand but she moves it away.

“Um, anyways, where’s the other one at?” Scynthia asks.

“Just got out the shower and is in your room. Thought it would be a good idea since we were able to get rid of Jimin,” Rose says before giggling.

“Alright, I’ll be back,” Scynthia says before going to her room.

Once he heard the door shut, Hoseok couldn’t help but sigh loudly.

“You alright there buddy?” Jeong asks.

“I don’t know. Scyn has been acting really strange lately. I can’t even hold her hand without her flinching and moving away. I try asking if she’s alright but she just avoids the subject. I don’t know what’s going on,” he honestly says.

“Hey Hoseok, I think I left some cups down in your guys’ dorm. Mind going with me to get ‘em?” Rose asks.

“Yeah, sure. Why not?” Hoseok says as he heads to the door.

“What are you up to?” Jin asks with an eyebrow raised.

“Just going to talk to Hoseok is all,” Rose says before following Hoseok out.

 

 

 

 

Scynthia’s POV

 

I barge right in my room, not even knocking.  I mean, why should I?  It’s my room anyways.

I head straight to my bed and plop in it, burying my face into my pillows.

“Well geez. It’s so thoughtful of you to knock.”

I just moan into the pillow, ignoring the comment.

“You alright there?”

“Arrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhh,” I yell into my pillow.

“I’m going to take that as a no. What’s up?”  I then felt the end of my bed dip in.

“I don’t know what to do about this Hoseok thing. It’s really messing with me and I feel really bad but I can’t help the way I feel,” I say.

“Scyn, you just need to talk to him. That dude is too sweet to get mad at you, especially when it’s something like this. I think you should tell him what happened that night. I know he’s probably worrying sick about you.”

“But I don’t feel worthy of him. I feel like I don’t deserve him anymore. I just feel disgusted with myself,” I honestly say.

Next thing I know, I’m being pulled up and I’m sitting on the edge of the bed, as well.

“Scynthia, don’t you ever say that. You are a beautiful person, inside and out. Don’t let some disgusting ert make you think otherwise. Hoseok knows it, too.”

“But he doesn’t know what happened that night. He’d probably dump me if I tell him,” I say as I feel tears forming in my eyes.  God, I’ve been crying a lot lately.

“Scyn, Hoseok is your boyfriend. He’s there to help and support you. He’s there to stand by your side. You guys have been through way too much to let this thing get in the way of your guys’ love for one another. I don’t know exactly what happened that night, but I know once you tell Hoseok, he’ll bring you into his arms and probably never let you go again.”

“You think so?” I ask.

“Girl, I know so. Like your mom said, if he hasn’t changed his mind and run away from you yet, then he’s a keeper,” she says before laughing.

“Hey. I’m really not that bad,” I say.

“I know, I’m just kidding,” she says.

I sigh.  “Well, thanks for the pep talk.”

“Tis what best friends are for,” she says before smiling.

I stand up and pull her into a hug.

“I’ve missed you. Promise me you’ll never leave me like that again,” I say to her.

I hear her laugh.  “I’ll try my best.”

I pull away from the hug and place my hands on her shoulders.  “Ann, I’m serious. Don’t you dare leave me.”

I see her frown before it turns back into a smile.  “You know I can’t promise that.”

“You’re still thinking about going back to Chicago?” I ask her.

She nods her head.  “I just don’t think I belong here.”

“Have you told anyone else?” I ask her as I move my hands away.

She sighs as she rakes her hand through her hair.  “No. That’s kind of the hard part, you know?” she says before letting out a chuckle.

“You know Jimin is going to take it the hardest, you know,” I tell her.

She looks down at the ground.  “I-I know. I don’t want to hurt him, either. You know he hasn’t left my side ever since I came back from the hospital. And the worst thing is that I think he’s going to confess. I’ve realized that I feel the same way towards him. But I can’t say that I like him then leave. I feel like I’ve put him through enough crap as it is.”

“Hey, it’s going to be okay. You’ll figure it out and I’m sure he’ll understand,” I tell her.

“I hope so,” she says before looking back up.

I pull her into another hug, making her giggle.  “I’m so glad you’re back, Ann. Just promise you’ll contact me every single day if you leave,” I tell her.

“Of course. I need someone to tell me everything that’s happening back here.”

I pull away from the hug and just laugh at her. 

“Oh, I wanted to thank you for getting my stuff from the hospital. You know I could’ve helped you and oppa,” Ann says.

“Nah, it was cool. Plus, let’s be real. Jimin wasn’t going to let you out of his site anyways,” I say before laughing.

“Yeah, yeah,” she says before heading to the door.  She opened it only to find a Hoseok on the other side.

“Scynthia, can we talk?” he asks me.

“Well, hello there to you, too,” Ann says before giggling.  “I’ll just leave you guys alone then.”

I glance at Ann who nods and mouths ‘You got this’ before leaving.

 

 

 

 

Hoseok’s POV

 

 

Rose went to grab the cups and I sat down on one of the stools at the island.

“So, what’s exactly been going with you and Scyn,” Rose asks as she gets the cups from the cupboard.

“I don’t know. It’s like she gets scared of any contact I have with her,” I tell her.

Rose turns around and places the cups on the counter before leaning on it with her elbows.

“Has she talked to you about that night?” Rose asks me.

“No, not really. Why?” I ask her.

“This isn’t my place to tell but some things happened that night that might be affecting her still,” she says while looking at me.

“What do you mean?”

She taps her fingers on the counter, as if contemplating on telling me something or not.

“She’s probably going to kill me for this but I can see how much you two are suffering right now,” she says before taking a breath.

“That night, Taemin kissed her. It wasn’t just a peck or something like that but it was a really passionate kiss,” I hear her say.

“You’re ing kidding me, right? God, I really wish I could have done more to that jackass,” I say as I angrily ruffle my hair.

“Hoseok, focus. That’s not the point. You need to think about how Scynthia feels right now. She probably feels scared, used, and unworthy of your love because some other guy kissed all over her that wasn’t you. She probably thinks she doesn’t deserve you and thinks of herself as a bad girlfriend. That’s why she’s been scared of having any skinship with you. That guy is probably messing with her mind, think she’s no good anymore,” Rose tells me.

I just sit there in complete silence.  .  All this time, she’s been scared and thinking badly of herself and I didn’t even know.  I’m such a terrible boyfriend.

“Hey, don’t feel bad. It’s something us girls usually feel. I’d be the same way with Joonie if something like that happened to me,” she tells me.  “You just need to go talk to her is all.”

I nod and before I know it, I’m sprinting out the door and running up the stairs to their dorm.

 

 

 

Scynthia’s POV

 

Once Ann left, Hoseok closed the door and walked up to me.  He then gently grabbed both of my hands into his, making me look up to him.

“Just let me talk, okay?” he says softly.  I just nod.

“First, I want to apologize for being an awful boyfriend,” he says.  I open my mouth up to speak but he shakes his head.

“Let me finish first,” he says and I just nod again.

“Second, I want you to get this god forsaken idea out of your mind that you are unworthy of my love. If anything, I really don’t deserve you at all. I’m lucky enough that you let me call you my girlfriend.

You are one of the best things that has ever happened to me and I want you to know that I really mean that. Just because some ert kissed you does not make me think any less of you. You’ve been through a lot that night. If anything, I think of you even stronger than before. A lot of people wouldn’t be able to come out of there okay.

Scynthia, you are the most beautiful woman that has entered my life. Well, next to my mom, of course. And don’t tell my sister about this, either,” he says, which makes me chuckle.

“Anyways, what I’m trying to say is, some mishap like that isn’t going to change how much I love you. You are truly amazing and wonderful. You’re ing extraordinary, Scyn. I honestly thank God every day for letting me have met such an exceptional woman like you.

So, I want you to stop thinking so lowly of yourself. Bring out that fierce and confident Scynthia that I know back. I know it might take some time for you, and I’m okay with that. I’m not going anywhere. I will be here for you. If you don’t feel comfortable with kissing or some types of skinship, just let me know and I won’t do it until you feel comfortable again. I’ll truly miss holding you in my arms and kissing you every day, but you are more important than my wants. It seems like you’re okay with me holding your hands and I will gladly take this anyday. So please, Scyn, don’t think of yourself so badly. Just know that I care for you so much and that I truly love you.”

By the time he finished speaking, tears were falling from my face like a waterfall.  What he’s said is exactly what I needed hear. I can’t believe I thought he didn’t care for me anymore. This guy really does love me.

I fall into his chest and wrap my hands around his waist. 

“I’m sorry Hoseok,” I cry into his chest.

I feel him wrap his arms around me, making me feel safe and secure.

“No need to be sorry. I’m sorry I wasn’t able to protect you from him. I’m sorry you had to go through that. But please Scynthia, don’t ever look down on yourself, again. You’re too exceptional and I want you to know that,” he says before kissing me on top of my head.

I pull away to look at him.  My eyes then move down to his lips and before I know it, my lips meant his into a longing, passionate kiss full of emotion.  After a while, I finally pull back and he leans his head against mine.

“You don’t know how much I’ve missed doing that,” he says before pecking my lips again.  I then feel leave kissed down my jaw and reaching to my neck, making me giggle.

“Hoseok,” I say between my laughing.

“I’ve just missed being close to you,” he says as he continues to leave kisses all over.

“Hoseok, we are not doing this now,” I tell him, making him stop and lift his head back up to look at me.

“Alright,” he says before leaving a long kiss on my forehead.

“I love you, Scynthia.”

“I love you, too, Hobi.”

 

 

 

 

Ann’s POV

 

I left Scyn and Hoseok in our room.  I hope they work things out, though I’m sure they will.  Oh God.  I hope they don’t do it in our room.  Oh God no.  Let’s just push that thought out of the way.

As soon as I made it to the living room, someone collided me with a hug.

“Did you miss me?” he asks.

I couldn’t help but laugh.  “You literally just went down the street, Jimin.”

He lets go and pulls away, showing me his pout.  “Well then,” he says but soon breaks out into a smile.  He then just stares at me weirdly.

“Why are you looking at me like that?” I ask him as I poke his chest.

He then grabs my hand and pulls me somewhere.  “Jeong, me and Ann will be in your room for a minute,” he yells.

“Alri-WAIT WHAT?!” I hear Jeong yell, making me laugh.

 

 

 

He pulls me into Jeong’s room and closes the door before facing me.  I just look at him with a raised eyebrow.

“I missed you,” he says.

“I am right here, you know,” I say to him.

“No, I mean, while you were in a coma. I really missed you,” he says as he stares into my eyes.

Ah, yeah.  I was in a coma.  How could I forget?

 

Flashback

 

I woke up in this sudden coughing fit.  I felt like there was something in my throat.  I opened my eyes to see Jimin.  I felt him holding my hand so I squeezed it, thinking he could help me.  The coughing fit got worse, making close my eyes.  Next thing I see, there’s a bunch of doctors and nurses in front of me.

Suddenly, my eyes close and all I see is blackness.

 

Next time I wake up, I see people heads standing over me, not quite able to see them clearly.  I blink my eyes a few times and make them out as a doctor, Hyejin unnie, and Jimin.

“Ah, glad to finally see you awake, Ann,” the doctor tells me.

I try to talk but when I did, a huge pain shot up in my throat, making me unable to speak.

“Oh, please don’t try to talk. We had to intubate you and you’ve had a breathing tube down your throat for a while now. Your throat will be sore for a few days but will go back to normal,” the doctor says.

I just nod.

“I’m just going to ask you a few questions, okay?” he says and I nod.

“I’m going to give you this board so you can write the answers there,” he says handing me a marker and dry erase board.

“What is your name?”

I write Ann Lee on the board and show it to him.

“Great! Can you tell me who these two people are?” he asks.

I erase my name before writing Hyejin unnie and Jimin.  I then show him the board.

He nods and smiles.  “Thank goodness,” I hear unnie say.  What’s going on?

“What is the last thing you remember?” the doctor asks.

I write, ‘being in the dressing room at our debut show with everyone in there.’

“Okay. I’m going to check your eyes and head now,” he says and I nod.

He then does that.  After, he begins speaking.

“It seems like she doesn’t remember anything that has happened during the event. Because she was passed out from the drug during the entire thing, it was likely that this would happen. The good thing is that she doesn’t have any brain injuries. She’ll be completely fine. She can be discharged in two days,” the doctor says.

“Oh my God, thank you so much doctor,” unnie says.  Is she crying?

“No problem,” he says before bowing and leaving the room.

Next thing I know, unnie has me in a hug.

“Don’t you ever scare me like that again, Ann. You’ve had us all in a mess,” she says before pulling back.

I mouth to her a sorry, only to be returned with a smile.

“I’m going to go call and tell everyone the great news. I’m sure they’ll want to come and see you now,” she says before pecking my cheek and leaving my room.

I raise an eyebrow before shaking my head.  I then look to the last person left in the room besides me, Jimin.

He’s just standing there beside my bed, not saying or doing anything.  Weirded out enough, I bring my hand up to his face and poke his cheek with my finger.  He then snapped out of it.

Before I knew it, he’s sitting on my bed with me in a tight hug.

“Ann, I’ve missed you so much,” he says into my neck.  Is he crying, too?

I just put my arms around him and rub his back in a comforting way.

“Don’t you ever leave like that. I was so scared that you wouldn’t come back,” he says.

I continue to rub his back and croak out an ‘I’m sorry’.

 

 

 

I stayed in the hospital for two days, with BTS and Royalty staying with me. 

My voice came back the next day and I was able to speak again.  Soon I was discharged from the hospital.

 

END FLASHBACK

 

And here I am.  I’ve been at the dorm ever since I got discharged.  No one has told me what happened that night but I’m assuming it’s for the best.

And ever since I got back, Jimin has practically been staying here, only leaving when BTS has schedules or when Jeong or Jimin oppa force him out.

 

I look at Jimin and just smile.  “I know, and I’m sorry for that,” I say.

He opens his mouth to say something but he ends up closing it again.  He does this a couple more times.

“You okay, Jimin?” I ask him.

“I just need to get this over with,” I hear him say to himself.

“Hey, Jimin, you alright there?” I ask again.

All of a sudden, he looks at me then says something really fast.

“I don’t know why my heart is like this. I only think of you always. I’ll become a rhythm and a song. And sing it for you. I only have you. Even if I’m far away. Always stay by my side. You’re my everything. Even if the difficult tomorrow comes. I give it to you.”

I stare at him with a look of confusion.  What did he just say?  What is he talking about?  Rhythm and a song?

As I was going to ask what he said, someone came barging in the door.  I turn my head to see that it was Tae. 

“Hey, dinn-oh, did I interrupt something?” Tae asks.

“Damn it Taehyung! You ruining my damn confession here!” Jimin yells at him before widening his eyes.

Wait, what?  Did he just confess to me?  Okay, I have to admit, I saw this coming but I didn’t know that’s what he was currently doing.

This makes me think on what he hurriedly spat out a moment ago.  Wait.  Why do those words sound so familiar?

“Sorry,” I hear Taehyung say, “just wanted to tell you guys dinner will be ready in a few minutes.”

“Good luck with your confession, Jimin!” he says, giving him a thumbs up, before shutting the door.

“DAMN YOU TAEHYUNG!” Jimin shouts.

I’m still pondering on what Jimin said, when it hits me.  I then burst out into laughter.

“Why are you laughing?” Jimin asks me.

I was trying to answer him but I couldn’t stop laughing. 

“Aish. I don’t know how people do this,” I hear him say.

I finally spoke once my laughter died down.  “Did you really do that? You used lyrics from your own song?” I ask, trying to stifle my laughter.

He rubs his face with his hand.

“It wasn’t supposed to be like that. I don’t even know where that came from. I just got nervous and those lyrics suddenly came out of my mouth,” he says with red cheeks.

I couldn’t help but smile at his flustered look.

“It was sweet, though,” I honestly tell him.

“I know it wasn’t. You don’t gotta lie you know,” he tells me.

“I’m serious. It was really sweet and funny. I’ve never had a guy confess to me before, and as you can see, I didn’t know how to react so I just laughed,” I tell him.

He then looks at me more serious this time.  “What I wanted to say is that I really like you and I really like being around you. You being in the hospital showed me how much I like and care for you. I wanted to know if you would like to go on a date with me.”

I stare at him as I blink my tears away.  I can’t believe I’m crying over a boy right now.  I’m really sorry, Jimin.

“Wait, did I say something wrong? Why are you crying? Don’t cry,” he says and he takes his thumbs and wipes my falling tears away.

“I’m sorry, Jimin,” is all I can say.

“You know, you don’t have to cry if you don’t like me,” he says before chuckling bitterly.

I shake my head.  “T-that’s not it.”

“Then why are you crying?” he asks with a confused face.

I continue to stare at him as tears continue to fall down my face.

“Ann, what’s wrong?” he asks seriously this time.

“T-there’s a good chance that I’ll be going back home to Chicago,” I say before looking down at the ground.  I can’t face him right now.

“You’re going there to see your family right? You’re just going to visit?” he asks.

I just shake my head.

“Oh, I see.”

“I’m sorry,” I say again.

Next thing I know, I’m in his warm and comforting embrace.

“It’s nothing to cry about. It’s not like we’ll never see each other. I guess it’s just bad timing. But don’t cry. I seriously hate seeing you cry,” he says before pulling back and wiping my tears away again.

I was going to say something but he beat me to it.

“And don’t say you’re sorry, either. Like I said, it’s just bad timing. Who knows, maybe we’ll be together in the future and I’ll finally be able to take you out on that date,” he says to me before smiling.

I could only nod.

“Come on. Stop being all sad. I want to see smiling Ann again,” he says before pushing my cheeks up and pinching them.

“Yah!” I say but couldn’t help but laugh.

“There we go. Now let’s go eat, shall we? You’re still recovering so you need some food,” he says.

“No! You need some food. Scynthia told me you haven’t been eating or sleeping while I was in a coma,” I say before gently slapping his arm.

“OW! I was worried about you, okay? Now that you’re here, you can feed me all you want,” Jimin says before winking and running out of the room.

“I’ll feed you alright! I’ll stuff a whole chicken down your throat!” I say as I chase him.

 

 

 

 

Author’s POV

 

 

BTS and Royalty ate dinner together.  Hyun and Jeong’s girlfriends even joined.  They laughed and talked amongst themselves, enjoying each other’s company.  Once dinner was over, they all got into their pajamas and put a movie on the T.V.  They decided to have a sleepover tonight.

On one couch, Hyun and Jeong were cuddled up with their girlfriends.  Happy that they were able to spend some time with them.

On another couch were Scynthia and Hoseok. They were on one side of the couch, as he was holding her in his arms and she resting her head on his chest.  On the other side, Rose and Namjoon were sitting next to each other.  He put his arm around her shoulders and she leaned against him.  With his other free hand, he grabbed one of hers and interlaced their fingers together.  Rose was glad they turned most of the lights off because she was blushing badly at this.

On the floor in front of them was Jimin, Ann, and Jin.  Jimin was lying down with his head in Ann’s lap.  Jin was sitting next to Ann, as they had all of the snacks in front of them.

Taehyung was sitting on the recliner chair while Jungkook was sitting on the floor in front of him.

“Ann, pass some chips, will you?” Jungkook asked.

“Mlright,” Ann answered with full.  She then felt an impact on the back of her head.

Ann swallowed her food before yelling.  “OW! I was eating. You could have made me choke. You’re such a mean unnie.”

“I told you, I will break this habit of yours!” Rose tells Ann.

“The chips please,” Jungkook says, ignoring what just happened.

“Sorry, Kookie. Someone almost made me choke on my precious food,” Ann says while passing the bowl of chips to Ann.

“It’s alright, Ann,” Jin says.  “She just doesn’t get anymore snacks.”

Ann turns her head to face Rose and sticks out her tongue.

“YAH!” Rose yells.

Before Rose could yell anymore, Namjoon presses his lips against hers and kisses her.

He then pulls back and says, “Trying to watch the movie,” he says to her while smirking.

Rose would have retaliated back but she was so distracted by that kiss.  She just rested her head on his chest again and prayed no one saw her burning cheeks.

“Did I ever tell you how cute you are when you’re blushing?” Namjoon whispers in her ear.

Rose just hides her face into his chest, mumbling a shut up.

Namjoon smiles and kisses the top of her head.

Ann popped a piece of candy in with one hand while running her other hand through Jimin’s hair.  Jimin leaned into her touch, enjoying the little massage she’s giving him.  I’m going to miss you so much, he thinks to himself.  I don’t know how I’m going to cope without you.  He decides to push those thoughts away and just enjoy the present.

 

 

 

 

The Next Day

BigHit

 

Royalty is currently sitting in the CEO’s office.

“Hello everyone,” Mr. Bang greets them with a smile.

Royalty bows and greets him back.

“So, let’s get to it then, shall we? As I’ve said at the beginning, this group was a trial run. It was never a sure thing. But how everything is going right now, and how the fans are reacting to you, I want to make Royalty a definite BigHit group,” Mr. Bang says.

“That’s great!” Hyun says happily.

“Yes! Royalty is a sure thing now!” Rose says.

“I’m glad you all are excited. Now, all I have to do is have you all sign these contracts. They’re four year contracts, saying you’ll be part of Royalty under BigHit. There’s some other conditions there, too. Don’t be afraid to ask me any questions,” he says as he places a contract in front of each member, along with a pen.

They all look at each other before looking back at their contracts.

 

This was the moment they’ve all been waiting for. . .

 

Are they going to sign the contracts and officially become a group and fulfill their dreams. . .

 

 

. . .Or are they going to decline to pursue something else. . .

 

Maybe it's not always trying to fix something broken. Maybe it's about starting over and creating something better.

I can't believe that was the last chapter.  *wipes away tear* We made it throught guys!  And everyone is alive!!

Just to clear some things up that may be confusing in this chapter.

Ann is most definitely alive.  Scynthia and Jeong were packing up her things from the hospital room.

Jin said "she's in a better place now."  He was referring to Ann being back home at the dorm. :D

 

I want to tell you all that I really appreciate you for reading, subscribing, and commenting.  In all honesty, I didn't think this story was that good, but seeing your guys' comments and how many people have been reading and subscribing made me think, "Hmm. . .maybe it's not that bad."
