Yewon runs through the corridor towards Chanhee before very anxiously grabbing his hands with her own ones that were soaked in perspiration from her worry. Dongchul follows his wife closely behind, trying to comfort her that Jonghyun would be alright as what Chanhee had already informed them over the phone. Jonghyun’s surgery had been very successful and was recovering pretty fast and well. Chanhee informed Yewon that her son has already regained consciousness and is on the way to visit him right now, inviting Yewon and Dongchul to follow him.

“Jonghyun ah, how are you feeling sweetie” Yewon rushed into the ward to Jonghyun’s side the moment Chanhee opened the door for them. Holding his hand gently in his, she leans in as a few tears escaped from her eyes putting her forehead to her son’s own extremely glad to see that her son was in one piece.

“Omma…” Jonghyun mutters as he urgently rises, grabbing on tightly to his mother’s hands.

“Easy...” Chanhee hurriedly assists his boyfriend, afraid that Jonghyun would aggravate his wounds and injure himself further.

“Chanhee hyung, omma… How’s Byunghun?” Jonghyun worriedly asked, his tone laced with concern and guilt. He glanced at his mother’s confused expression before turning to look at Chanhee’s anxious ones, eyes darting about and uneven breathing.

“Byunghun? What happened to Byunghun?” Yewon’s head shot up at the mention of her other son. Chanhee did call to inform her that Jonghyun was involved in an accident and just finished a surgery that went well but he never mentioned Byunghun.

Jonghyun gulped as he looked down at his legs, his head hung low. Afterall, it was partly his fault that they got into the accident and so far no one has updated him about his older brother’s condition yet but judging from Chanhee’s expression he expected bad news.

“Byunghun was involved in the same accident omma… I was distracted and we crashed hard into an eight wheeler. Byunghun... wanted to protect me... so he threw himself on top of me taking the brunt of the crash...” Jonghyun wipes the tears that had started rolling down his cheeks, his tear ducts couldn’t hold the salty tears in any longer as the tear gates gave way and tears flooded in.

Yewon let out a soft gasp as she brought her frail hands up to cupping them as she tried not to collapse and break down. Dongchul stands beside her as he rubs Yewon’s shoulder gently to comfort her as much as he could.

Chanhee inhales a deep breath before finally explaining Byunghun’s undesirable condition.

“He’s still in very critical condition, he lost a lot of blood and is severely injured. We’re not sure if he’ll be able to tide over.  He’s not allowed visitors at the moment but you can watch him from outside.”
