Twenty two
Reasons
Twenty two
The bed broke the previous night. That would leave most men proud; it usually meant a very interesting night. He wasn’t proud. His night was rather humiliating. The bed did break, and it was because he jumped her. But it wasn’t for what he would’ve hoped for.
He walked into the living room, after a very long day to find her giggling, seemingly very glad about something. When he walked closer she hid it in her hands. Curiosity got the best of him and he planned to steal it from her hands. When all attempts failed, he tickled her until she let go of the object.
He realized then that his mother had given her his childhood photos when they were visiting, his very embarrassing childhood photos. One of the photos was of him in a diaper, with very fuzzy hair, and he looked terrified as his aunt was trying to give him a kiss. Another one was of him and an ostrich. For some reason the ostrich was hitting his head and he was crying.
He came to discover he had very caring parents, preferring to take a photo and show it to his girlfriend twenty years later, than to save their child.
The one she was having most difficulties to breathe with was of him, fully , his face smudged with chocolate, carrying a cartoon box and pretending to play guitar
“You were always so charming oppa” that was what she said before falling into an incontrollable fit of laughter. She had tears in her eyes and couldn’t stop laughing. That was when he made an aim for the rest of the photos. She immediately pulled it back and hid it again, he made another attempt and she got up, launching for a run, and resulting in a chase around the house.
They ended up in the bedroom, she leaped on the bed and he followed, locking her in a very tight hold, getting hold of the photos. However, the force of their synchronous jump, and the fact that their bed was overused and already cracked, caused the bed to break. He realized she took most of the pain from the fall.
She refused to talk to him, so he offered to show her the rest of the photos. She suddenly broke into a grin and nodded.
“Oppa that’s adorable” she cooed over one of the pictures, another one. His parents were getting a talk.
“Uh huh”
“What are we going to do about the bed though?” she asked after a while. He turned to look into her eyes for the first time that night. “We’ll have to buy a new one I suppose”
“We can’t fix it?”
“That will probably cost as much as buying another one” he told her. “There are far too many cracks in it. Beside I’ve had that bed since I moved to this house, it’s been around six years” she nodded in understanding.
