Eleven
The weather was beginning to get colder by the minute, as expected; she snuggled closer to him every night. He was always glad to wake up to her cherry-like scent. She also chose to be closer to him than usual for the rest of the day. For those reasons he really didn’t mind the weather.
Except when he got trapped in his car, at 1 am, waiting for the storm to be over so he could see the road again. She was quietly sitting beside him, stealing glances at him. She figured he was very angry by now so she didn’t say anything.
She was crying on the carpet when he walked in, searching for her since she didn’t come to bed. She had lost a book that she needed for an exam the day after tomorrow and so he drove her, in the middle of the night to a town nearby to buy the book she needed. They got trapped in a sudden storm, it was very light at first but then it turned worse. He parked on the side road, he couldn’t even tell where they were, and waited for the rain to be over.
They hadn’t exchanged a word since then. She was feeling very guilty, the weather was really cold; she wanted the storm to be over so badly.
He glanced over. She wrapped her arms around her shoulder, trying to keep herself warm. He didn’t intend to make her feel bad. It wasn’t her fault really. He told her to be quiet when she asked him when they’ll get home and she didn’t say a word since then. He was frustrated and her constant questioning bothered him even more. He noticed she was beginning to get pale.
He sighed as he took his jacket off and placed it on her. She looked surprised before quickly turning away and offering the jacket back to him. “You’ll get sick keep it on” she awkwardly told him. He hated that she wouldn’t look at him.
“A little chill wouldn’t get to me. You keep it, you’re not wearing enough clothes” he placed the jacket back on her shoulders, this time forcing it in place. “Look at me” he s
