She woke up to a smell of gardenia filling her nose. He had apparently carried her to bed. His arms were around her shoulders, trying to keep the blanket in place, and keep her warm with his embrace. It reminded her of their first night together.
Her checks turned crimson at the memory. She woke up in his warm embrace, with a bowl of water and some floating gardenia inside on the bed-side table. He promised her he’d be up when she wakes and true to his word, he was still awake.
She always admired how he managed to take care of her no matter what the situation was. She could lean on him and trust he’d make everything better. He wasn’t a boy; he was a man, her man.
“Are you up Suzy-yah?” he asked.
“Umm” she hummed in reply.
“Hungry?”
“Umm”
“I’ll make you some soup then yeah?” she nodded into his chest once more. She loved it when he spoils her. It made being sick not seem all that awful. “I’ll be right back baby”

He returned after a while, holding a tray with a small bowl, inside was some chicken soup, which was evidently warm with steam rising from the top. She gave him a smile as he helped her get up; adjusting the pillow to support her back while he joined her in bed. He dipped the spoon into the soup and held it up to her.
