The media was ruining women. He was sure of it. She giggled when he told her that but he was sure of it now.
His girlfriend had been ogling the screen the whole afternoon, staring at some American guy who she was crazy about, a Damon something. He was supposed to be a vampire as far as he got from the few times he watched that show with her. Usually when it plays, he rests his head on her lap and sleep.
He told her that guy was too old for her to like. That was when she punched his shoulder, so he decided to be quiet from then on.
Next it was a movie. He saw her crying as he walked in so he hurried to hold her. She yelled at him to get out of the way as he was blocking the screen. He was forced to watch the movie with her anyway since she still wept in his chest the whole time. It was quite a good movie, a very cute actress too, not that he’d tell her that of course.
What he didn’t like was how it showed, in his opinion, a very unrealistic type of love. The female lead would lose her memory and her lover would read her their entire love story. By some miracle she’d regain her memory for some minutes. Eventually they died at the same time. She was still crying when she asked him if he’d do that for her. He should’ve just said yes.
Instead he went on to explain to her why he thought that just prolonged the suffering, that if she was in her right mind she’d rather have her lover hold on to her sweet memory and the love they shared, and care for their children and grandchildren as they were the most evidential prove of their love. That she wouldn’t have wanted him to hope on a miracle, getting even more heart broken each tim
