Seventy

The line was too long. He told her they should split, he’d get the tickets while she got the popcorn, she didn’t agree. She was now sitting down on a chair, waving at him, while he was waiting in the queue to get the movie tickets.

She told him she wanted to see a movie at the theatre in the mall; he assumed it was a romantic movie. They didn’t usually go to the cinema together; she’d go with her friends while he wasn’t much of a fan of crowded, noisy, irritating cinemas.

Finally buying the tickets, he walked out of line and to her side; she smiled and took the tickets from his hand. “Thank you oppa”

“Welcome. Are you feeling better now? Are you sure you don’t want to go home and rest?” he worriedly asked her, his hand resting on her forehead to check her temperature. She got a bit dizzy while standing in line so he told her to sit down.

“I’m fine” she took his hand, leading him to buy popcorn and drinks. She seemed really cheerful.

“I’m starting to fear I’ve been fooled a while ago”

“I wouldn’t dare” she answered him with a grin.

“You got me really concerned about you though” He ruffled her hair. She stepped back and tried to fix it. 

“But I really did get dizzy!”

“Uh huh” his arms went around her shoulder, heading for the shop.

“Popcorn and two small sized drinks, please” he told the man and she shook her head.

“Large sized for me”

“You won’t finish it baby”

“But a large sized Pepsi is mandatory in the movies Oppaa” he sighed.

After buying the drinks and popcorn, which they promised not to start eating until the movie begins, they sat and waited for the movie.

“It will be subbed right?” he asked, taking some popcorn. 

”Yah! We said we won’t…” she hushed when he pushed some into . “Probably” she answered after swallowing, he nodded, taking some more and kissing her before she managed to protest

“A romantic comedy?”

“Uh… Partly”

He didn’t like it already. Romantic movies usually meant an unrealistically muscular and tanned guy. “You can’t ogle the male lead. I’ll gawk the female lead if you do!” she made a face and threw some popcorns at him.
