As Good As It Gets
SeverelySong: 이보다 좋을 순 없다 (As Good As It Gets) - Infinite
It had already been a few days since Myungsoo and Yujin arrived back in America.
Yujin was going to have the corneal transplant soon and Myungsoo was helping her pack her things for her stay at the hospital.
“What books do you want to bring over to the hospital to read?” Myungsoo asked, looking at Yujin’s collection of Braille books on the bookshelf.
“Hmmm…I don’t feel like reading, just my iPod touch would do…” Yujin replied.
“Are you sure that’s enough? You know with the number of tests you need to go through…you’d probably be bored waiting.” Myungsoo said, packing Yujin’s iPod touch into her bag.
“Well…if I’m bored…you’ll talk to me won’t you Oppa?” Yujin smiled.
“Maybe….you could even bring your guitar and sing some songs for me.” Yujin said, changing her smile into a grin.
Myungsoo laughed.
“Of course…I’m just afraid you might get tired of my voice.” He said, zipping up the bag and placing it beside the table.
“I’ll never get tired of your singing…” Yujin replied, Myungsoo’s singing was one of her most favorite things.
Well that and…Daehyun’s voice…but…that was all in the past now.
Myungsoo smiled as he grabbed the bag and held the door open for Yujin.
“Come on, we’ll be late for the check up.” He said.
“Mmm..” Yujin nodded as she grabbed her cane and got up from the bed.
Just a few more days…and she would be able to see again.
She was so nervous there were butterflies in her stomach.
“Today will just be some boring check ups…Dr. Seo said she needs to make sure you’re healthy and in good condition before she proceeds with the transplant.” Myungsoo explained to Yujin as he drove towards the hospital.
“Try not to worry too much okay, I’ll be there with you…” Myungsoo said, turning to look at Yujin and holding her hand.
“Whoa….you hand’s icy cold…shall I turn down the air conditioning?” Myungsoo asked.
“It’s okay, I’m just a little nervous…” Yujin replied.
“Julia..what did I tell you? Just think about all the wonderful things you’ll be able to see after the transplant…let Dr. Seo take care of the rest. Oh?” Myungsoo smiled, tightening his grip on Yujin’s hand.
Yujin nodded, Myungsoo was right….there was not point worrying too much anyway. She’ll accept whatever happens.
The morning passed by with Yujin going through all the tests until finally in the late afternoon they were all done.
“How are the test results?” Myungsoo asked Dr. Seo.
“They’re good…she’s healthy…other than her blood sugar level being a little low, but she’s ready for the operation tomorrow.” Dr. Seo replied.
“The operation will be scheduled for tomorrow morning at 9am…make sure she gets more rest…I’ll see you tomorrow.” Dr. Seo finished, nodding at Myungsoo and walking away.
Myungsoo went into the ward to see Yujin, he had got a private ward for Yujin so that she could have peace and quiet. And besides…chaebols didn’t stay in public wards.
“Oppa, is that you?” Yujin asked as Myungsoo entered the room.
She could smell the perfume he used floating all around the room.
“Yes…it’s me.” Myungsoo smiled, taking a seat next to Yujin’s bed.
“How was it? Did the tests make you feel uncomfortable?” Myungsoo asked, taking his DSLR camera out from the bag.
“It was all right…” Yujin replied, adjusting her head on the pillow.
“It’s tiring though….I’m beat.” She said, giving a little sigh.
“I know it must be hard on you to have to go through all those tests….so….I brought something for you!” Myungsoo grinned, holding a box of krispy kreme donuts in front of Yujin’s nose.
“What is it?” Yujin asked, sniffing the air.
“Can’t you smell it?” Myungsoo asked, raising his eyebrows.
“Krispy Kreme!” Yujin exclaimed, smiling widely.
