Missing Unnie

Entwined Destinies

"Have you seen Taeyeon-unnie at all, this morning?" Hyoyeon asked. The 8 girls were sitting at their lunch table once again, and were musing over Taeyeon's sudden dissapearance.
"She walked to school with us but that was it," Yuri mumbled through her sandwich.
Yuri received a slap from Sunny, who was sitting next to her. "Yah! Have some manners won't you? What woman talks with full?!" she scolded. Yuri looked unaffected but turned and wiped
anyway.
Sunny continued. "Well, did you notice anything strange with her this morning?"
"Other than the fact that she was dressed up really fancily and her weirdly eager new passion to go to wake up and go to school on time, annyo." Yuri took another bite out of her sandwich after she finished.
"I wonder why," Sica thought, "She must've been trying to impress someone."
"Annyo!" Fany retorted, she stood up and annouced. "She must've skipped school to go on a date with someone!!" She smiled proudly at herself.
"Then why wouldn't she just pretend she was sick, stay at home, then sneak out?" Sica said simply, without even looking up. Everyone stared at Jessica in shock as they realized how sensible and logical
the things she said were.  Fany's smile resembled a deflating balloon, and she sank back down into her seat looking upset.
"What if she got kidnapped by someone?" Sooyoung realized with worry in her eyes.
"Buoya, unnie?" Seohyun frowned. "How could she possibly be kidnapped. Yoona-unnie and Yuri-unnie both saw her go inside the school already."
"She could be taken out of the school," Hyoyeon said pointedly.
   "Someone would've noticed."
They all sank back in the seats, their brains whirring as they tried to figure out what could be happening to Taeyeon. Worry started to appear on their faces.
At that moment, Yoona stood up, a slightly annoyed expression on her face.
"Yoona, where're you going?" Yuri asked, bread in again. Sunny glared angrily at her.
"I'm done eating," she said, and carried her half-eaten tray away. The entire table stared at her, confused yet concerned for her as well. But they ignored her after that and continued brainstorming of ideas of where Taeyeon could be.
Yoona walked and scanned the cafeteria for any sign of who she was looking for. Realizing that that person wasn't there, she dumped her tray and rushed out of the cafeteria. She checked several other locations before she found him sitting by a window, staring at the sad and dreary landscape.
"Yah! Eeteuk-oppa!" Yoona shouted while catching for breath. He
looked behind him, but then immediately turned back when he saw it was
Yoona.
"Ya, oppa, this is important!" Yoona breathed as she walked over to
him. "Do you happen to know why Taeyeon's been missing all morning?"
Eeteuk's shining eyes widened momentarily. Yoona thought he was about to say something, but then he just turned back towards the window and zoned out again. "Annyo..."

"This is not the time to be lying, my unnie could be in danger," she said firmly.

   "I can't help you."

Yoona looked suspiciously at him, but said nothing and simply walked away. Leeteuk sighed and continued staring out the window. The clouds started darkening, and seconds later, heavy rain spilled from
them, drenching everything to be seen.

The girls arrived to Taeyeon's house after school had finished. They breathed a sigh of relief when they saw their unnie laying there, seemingly sleeping soundly. Soon, they were all crowded around Taeyeon's bed, hoping that she would wake up soon.
"Are you sure we shouldn't call the doctor or something?" Hyoyeon asked quietly.
"Babo! She's just sleeping!" Sunny snapped.
"Look, she's waking up!" Seohyun called out. And it was true.
Taeyeon's breathing was now even, and ever so slowly, he eyes cracked open and invited the sight of the eight of her dongsaengs.
"All of you..." Taeyeon spoke softly.
Tiffany threw her arms around Taeyeon and started sobbing uncontrollably.
"Unnie! We were so worried!" she wept.
"Unnie," Yoona whispered, taking Taeyeon's hand, tears rolling down her cheeks, "What happened to you?"
Taeyeon's eyes seemed to cloud up at the mention of the question.

"You seriously can't remember a thing?!" Yuri exclaimed. The nine were back at the lunch table, reunited and all was well...all except that Taeyeon couldn't remember anything that'd happened.
Taeyeon had told her dongsaengs she'd just decided to leave class  (she left out the part about Leeteuk), and unexpectedly it'd started to rain.
"And somehow I ended up with you guys," Taeyeon finished, "I honestly don't remember anything else." By this point, she was just as confused as the rest of them were.
"Let's just give her some time and back off," Yoona said. Taeyeon nodded, announced that she had some unfinished homework, and left the table.
After she got all her books, Taeyeon realized she was still early, so she walked to the school's rooftop. Normally, she would burst out in a song since she was alone, but she was too exhausted that day. Today, she simply stood there, staring out into the beautiful cityscape of Seoul, trying to remember what had happened to her. She'd ran out into the field and then--
"Hello there, who may you be?" a voice called from behind her. The presence of another person shocked Taeyeon and she dropped all her books. As she stooped down to gather them up, the person did too.
"Ah, miahne," Taeyeon said, "It's fine, I'll do it myself--" She was looking into the eyes of good looking guy with dark hair and dark eyes. He had a charming smile, and he was dressed spiffingly.
"Anhaengsayo, lovely lady, how are you?" he smiled. He held out his hand. "Junsu mida."
Tayeon shook his hand and returned his smile. "Taeyeon," she replied. There was something familiar about his greeting. "U
m, have we met?"
Junsu laughed casually. "Uh, I don't think so." He turned his piercing gaze towards Taeyeon. "But I guess that depends on whether or not dreams count."
Taeyeon blushed, not sure of what to say.
"Well, uh, I better get to class," she said, and hurried off.

Although Taeyeon had no idea, Yoona left the table almost immediately after Taeyeon did, claiming she had a meeting with Donghae. As a matter of fact, she did, but not for the reason her unnies and Seohyun assumed.
She found Donghae sitting by a table with Eunhyuk, Shindong, Sungmin, Kangin and Eeteuk. As Yoona walked closer, she saw Shindong nudge Donghae and point at her. As soon as he saw her, he broke into a cute smile which Yoona couldn't help but return.
"Oppa," she said, her voice dripping in aegyo. "I want to talk to you about something. Come." She grabbed his sleeve and started dragging him out.
"Araseo, araseo..." Donghae muttered in mock tiredness. Yoona noticed Eunhyuk whispering something to Eeteuk and they both burst out laughing, loudly. Yoona couldn't help but get a little mad for Eeteuk's obliviousness over Taeyeon's dissapearance yesterday.
As Yoona got Donghae to a secluded corner, she got straight to the point.
"Miahne, oppa, but I've got a serious question to ask you," she said seriously.
"Araseo..." Donghae looked at her strangely.
"Are you aware of the fact that Teuk-oppa likes me?"
Donghae stared at Yoona, and looked pale. Suddenly his eyes narrowed.
"This isn't one of your acting rehearsals again, is it?" Donghae asked.
"Buoya?! Would I joke about something like that?!" Yoona yelled furiously.
   "Ne."
"Well, I'm serious this time. Besides, what's the point? There's no one else here."
Donghae studied her a little more and decided she was serious. "I've got to say, I didn't," he answered. His eyes widened suddenly. "Yah! You're not dumping me for him, are you?!" At this point, he looked as if he might get a heart attack.
Yoona rolled her eyes and touched Donghae's cheek gently. "Babo," she teased. "I like you better when you aren't so protective."
Donghae smirked and pulled her hand off his hand. "Don't flatter yourself," he smiled. He lightly brushed Yoona's cheek with his lips, and she felt the tingle in the spot. She smiled at him, and there was
a very nice feeling in the air.
"Yah! Yoona, you ditcher!" yelled a VERY familiar voice to Yoona's ears. Both she and Donghae whirled around on saw Yuri standing there with her arms crossed and an angry expression on her face.
Yoona tried to explain herself.  "Ah, Yuri ah, I was just--"
"You know, ever since you started dating you never spend time with me anymore," Yuri complained. "Just now you left me all alone with the others again. Do you know how lonely I get without you?!" She pouted,
and Yoona couldn't help but giggle.
"Miahne," Yoona said sympathetically. She slapped Yuri on the shoulder. "Now who's the unnie here? Come on, just to prove that I really am sorry I'll fill you in on what happened as well."
Both Yuri and Donghae looked confused, but let Yoona continue. Slowly and carefully, Yoona filled in every single detail of what happened in the past two days regarding Taeyeon and Eeteuk, leaving nothing out.
Donghae shrugged. "But why did Eeteuk act so nicely to Taeyeon when he admitted his feelings to you? Hyung isn't the type of person to do things like that..."
"That's what I'm trying to figure out," Yoona said. "It'd be weird for me to keep an eye on him and you're the only person I trust who is able to do this--"
"Hey, what about me?" Yuri poked in.
"Do you want to follow him everywhere including home?"
Yuri's grotesque expression indicated that she didn't.
Yoona smiled and turned back to Donghae. "So just tell me if anything weird goes on about Eeteuk. It's just I'm really worried Taeyeon-unnie might be a little heartbroken and, well...just see if you can dig any answers out of him, araseo? Yuri and I will do the same with Taeyeon. There's just something fishy going on with the two of them..."
Donghae put his hand in a salute motion. "Araseo!!" Yoona laughed and hit him gently while Yuri stared at the two enviously.
   "Yah, Donghae-oppa..." she started.
Yoona and Donghae turned in Yuri's direction.
"Stop messing with my Yoona," Yuri pouted. And she grabbed onto Yoona's arm protectively and dragged her away.

Donghae stared after them with a flustered expresssiom. He suddenly turned to Eunhyuk.

"Aren't I supposed to be the boyfriend?"

The only response he received was a sharp jab to the head.
