"Ma'am, if you would just wait here, we'll bring the papers out in a minute for you to sign," the young-looking, elegant female nurse said.

Hyoyeon nodded sadly and beckoned for her to go. The nurse hesitated. Hyoyeon was sitting beside Eunhyuk's hospital bed, and it was obvious that she was trying to fight back her tears. She looked so pitiful that the nurse knew she just couldn't leave like that. Slowly and cautiously, the nurse walked over to Hyoyeon and put her hand on top of hers. Hyoyeon looked up the nurse, surprised.

"Miss Kim, I'm sure this must be hard for you," she smiled gently. "It's hard seeing all of your friends in such a state."

Hyoyeon turned away sadly, unable to respond.

"They'll be fine, you have my word for it," the nurse assured. "The injuries may look bad but they'll heal up in no time."

Hyoyeon turned back to the nurse, an expectant expression on her face. "Chincha...?"

The nurse nodded kindly. "Like I said, you have my word for it," she smiled. She removed her hand from Hyoyeon's, stood up and brushed her scrubs. "And besides," she continued. "I'm sure your boyfriend will be alright. No man on Earth would be selfish or foolish enough to leave such a loyal and beautiful lover behind."

Hyoyeon stood up suddenly, surprised by the comment. "But I'm not--"

"Relax," the nurse cut in. "He'll be fine, I said. Now you just wait here, Miss. Kim, I'll be back shortly." She smiled one last time and walked out of the room.

Hyoyeon stood in her position, frozen for a moment. I'm sure your boyfriend will be alright...the nurse had said. Hyoyeon slowly smiled and then scoffed to herself, slunking back down into her seat beside Eunhyuk. She really thought that I would date anchovy-face, Hyoyeon laughed to herself. Instinctively, she turned back to look at the unconscious Eunhyuk who was lying on his bed. His arm and head were wrapped up with white bandages, and his messy bangs were strewn all across his forehead.

The messy bangs somehow bothered Hyoyeon, as she was used to seeing Eunhyuk with perfect hair. Slowly, she stood up and reached over to brushed his loose hairs away. She touched his forehead as gently as possible, and pushed the hair away cautiously, as if he were just having a light nap rather than trapped in a state similar to that of a coma. As the hair moved away to reveal more of Eunhyuk's face, Hyoyeon couldn't help but notice at that moment how handsome and charismatic his face was. Normally, Hyoyeon wasn't the shallow type of girl who usually thought like this, but she couldn't but get drawn to him in that moment for some reason. It certainly really was something she'd never felt before, and before she could help herself, Hyoyeon found that she was staring passionately at him and gripping his hand tightly as if he really was her lover.

No man on Earth would be selfish or foolish enough to leave such a loyal and beautiful lover behind...the nurse had said. Hyoyeon realized at that moment that she did want to be a loyal and beautiful lover, and she wanted to be the lover of no one else than--

"HYOYEON NOONA!" a loud and familiar voice suddenly jolted Hyoyeon back into reality and out of her lovey dovey dream moment that made her suddenly scoff at herself in disgust. Me and anchovy face? No way... She started to get up to find who had just call her, but instead her loud voices first.

"Yah, Kibum-ah, quiet down! There are patients here too, you know..."

"Well, excuse me for wanting to find her quickly. Look how many curtains there are in here!"

"Diva Key, shut up."

"You know you love me."

Hyoyeon rolled her eyes and whipped open the curtains to see exactly who she expected to see: school prodigy Lee Jinki, cutie freshman hearthrob Lee Taemin, breath-taking good looks bling bling Kim Jonghyun, flaming charisma Choi Minho, and....you know what it'll take me until tommorow to describe Almighty/Diva/Skeleton/etc./ Key. They were all wearing their school uniform.

If Shinwha High had the F4 Goo Jun Pyo, Yoon Ji Hoo, So Yi Jung and Song Woo Bin, Lee Soo Man High had these five prodigical freshmans who rose to their area of fame within their first year at this gifted art school. Lee Taemin was the youngest member of the group by month of birth, and he was by far one of the most amazing dancers the school has ever seen. Even though he was only in his first year, his dancing abilities matched that of those in their senior years and could surpass some of them. Choi Minho was mainly known for his charismatic good looks as a flower boy (hence the nickname "Flamng Charisma), but he was at the school because of his amazing sport abilities. His competiveness made him a star in typically every sport you could think of, his majors being soccer and basketball. Kim Kibum, known as Key, is the handsome and multi-talented member. He's good at every thing from dancing to rapping to singing to acting, but he is more well known for his formidable and scandal-arousing mouth. Even girls go to him for the latest rumours and gossip around, and he does have a slightly feminine sude to him, whether or not he admits it. Kim Jonghyun is considered the passionate and powerful vocals of the school, his singing voice radiant and sometimes even overpowering those of his sunbaes. A brilliant music student, Jonghyun can hit every single note you can think of perfectly (A/N except for when he has his voice cracks, haha, I had too, I'm sorry sorry sorry sorry...). Last but certainly not least is the oldest member, Lee Jinki, more commonly known as Onew. He's the well-rounded academic student of the school, acing every subject he takes and always modest about it (not to mention is adorably amazing looks that top it off). But he is most well known for his beautiful, soft and gentle singing voice, that would make you melt just by listening to it.

Because of their radiance, talents and perfect good looks, the five together were known as shining SHINee, a name given to them by the many fangirls (and even fanboys...mostly Key's, haha) of their school.

"She's there!' Taemin squeaked.

"EVERYBODY POSE!" Onew shouted.

The five boys moved like ninjas and ended up in a charismatic and slightly overachieved and very random and uneccessary pose right in the middle of the hospital room.

Hyoyeon gave them a "what the heck are you guys doing look" and was about to say something that would shoot their apparently tremendous egos down in one shot, but then she heard sudden squealings around her. She looked around and rolled her eyes as she realized even nurses and doctors and seriously injured patients possibly on the verge of death can have their fantasies sometimes.

Hyoyeon turned back to SHINee. "Araseo, you amazingly good looking handsome flower boys of our generation--"

"Komawoyo," Key smirked.

"--just get rid of the pose now. Jinki, just put your glasses on. It doesn't make you look any worse than you already do. Now's not really the time for this, you byakkguyus." She turned around and went back inside the curtains.

"Ooh...Hyoyeon noona has a foul mouth..." Taemin whispered to Onew. They both looked at each other and laughed as Onew shoved the glasses onto his face, and gave a charismatic smile, mostly to himself. He suddenly really looked like a stereotypical, good looking scholar now, and Taemin thought he heard an exasperated sigh and a thump behind him. He turned around to see a female doctor sprawled on the ground, with nurses rushing all around frantically to help her.

"Ooooh...Onew hyung's popular with the noona doctors..." Jonghyun leered.

"He probably reminds them of the nerds they had crushes on when they were studying their butts off in university," Key laughed cruelly. Onew just rolled his eyes and pushed his glasses up his nose. He couldn't care less what others thought about him. 

Suddenly, Jonghyun loomed over to Key with an intense glare. Key took a step backwards, but Jonghyun abruptly grabbed Key's arm to hold him back. With his right hand he cupped Key's chin and leaned closer until their two faces were barely centimetres apart.

"Key, where would I be without you?" Jonghyun whispered softly. "That insult would've never been complete without you....what can I say..?

"Don't say it here, it's embarassing..." Key replied just as softly. Both their voices were more airy than usual.

Their sudden public showing of their "feelings" suddenly caused an explosion of squealing and screaming in the hospital room, and even some patients who were in full body casts woke up to see what the heck was going on (the nurses cheered in excitement at the awakening of several patients as well and freaked out at the passing out of others).When Jonghyun and Key noticed that everyone was distracted, they slowly retreated back into their former positions and gave each other hi-fives.

"Scholarly Onew knocks one doctor out," Key smiled devilishly. "JongKey knocks out....let us count....1,2,3,4,5--why is there a male doctor?--anyway...we WIN!"

"When was this a competition anyway?" Taemin asked innocently.

"What?" Minho suddenly perked to attention. "Competition? Where?"

The boys were interuptted by a sudden loud "ahem" coming from the nearby curtains. Hyoyeon had poked head out and was looking extremely annoyed at them.

"Now, if you five are done disturbing the peace of this world, would you mind coming to check on the life and death condtions of your hyungs already?" she asked bluntly and lamely. To top it off she had a very commanding glare that made the 5 boys immediately stand to attention and shuffle over to her like robots.

She spread the curtain and ushered them inside as quickly as possible. As soon as the five boys entered, their expressions and attitudes changed immediately.

There, in a perfect line, were the unconscious bodies of their hyungs, lying lifeless and some in worse conditions than other. It really was quite an image to take in at once, but it was nowhere near what Hyoyeon saw earlier.

"Yah, Hyoyeon-ah...why didn't you call us earlier?" Onew muttered sadly. He turned over to his dongsaengs and saw they were all frozen in shock; Taemin's eyes were even suddenly more glossy and watery.

"How could I?" Hyoyeon snapped back. "I had to take care of a bunch of stuff." She slowly started to shuffle towards the curtain openings. "Since you guys are here I'm going take a little break now, so please take care of your hyungs and don't do anything abrupt." And with that she dissapeared behind the curtains.

"Aigo, what happened?" Key exclaimed.

"We need to get to the bottom of this," Jonghyun muttered. "All Hyoyeon-noona told us was that they got beat up by some gang, but I'm sure she didn't tell us the whole story because no normal gang could do this to our hyungs."

Onew slowly nodded in agreement. "Sungmin and Hankyung are amazing martial artists.  They could easily take on a regular sized gang."

Taemin suddenly looked bewildered. He started turning his head around randomly.

"Hold on, where's Minho-hyung?"

The 4 SHINee members whirlled their heads around to find Minho practically sprawled on Siwon's hospital bed, with a very pained expression on his face.

Key stared at him disgustedly. "What the--"

"SIWON HYUNG, WAKE UP!" Minho bellowed out of nowhere. "YOU CAN' T LEAVE ME NOW! YOU WERE MY MENTOR, MY IDOL!"

Jonghyun bent his head down in shame. "That hyung just took it to a whole new level...."

"At this rate, he's going to wake up the whole hospital," Key frowned.

"YAH! I didn't know we was cheating on me!" Taemin wailed suddenly out of nowhere. Onew, Jonghyun and Key all stared at him with bewildered expressions.

"Buoya?" Key said bluntly.

"Nothing," Taemin replied.

Onew decided he had had enough. He went over and grabbed the loud-mouth Minho by the back of the collar and dragged him off the bed and onto his feet.

"Get a grip!" Onew yelled. "If they're in the hospital, they're going to be fine!" At his hyungs sudden strong words, Minho shut up immediately. The other SHINee members stared at him, dazed.

Key was the first to speak (as always...keke). "Wow...who knew Onew hyung had it in him?"

Onew shrugged, he was still dragging Minho by the collar, and started walking towards the curtains. "Whatever, let's just get down to business."

Taemin looked confused. "Hyung...what're you...?"

Onew shot a charming smile back at them. "Let's solve this crime, the shining SHINee style."

Hyoyeon strolled along the crowded streets among the hospital, doing her best to clear her mind a little. She sighed tiredly to herself, and took in her surroundings as best as she could. She saw coffee shops lining every corner of every intersection, clothing stores and boutiques every which way she looked, and people who all have something to do or somewhere to be.

Hyoyeon longed to fit into this crowd; she wanted to go buy a cup of coffee and just relax, she wanted to go shopping with her unnies and dongsaengs like they always did, but most of all, she wanted to know exactly what she would be doing and where she would be going after this.

She let her mind wander as she turned around to head back to her hospital, knowing that the mischievous boys would be up to no good soon if she left them for too long. Hyoyeon decided to cut through one of the city parks to get there quicker.

As she walked along one of the paths, her eyes caught glimpse of a couple embracing. The girl had straight brown hair similar to her own, and the guy had darker brown hair that was slightly spiked up with hair gel. As Hyoyeon looked, she realized the couple slightly bore a resemblance to herself and Eunhyuk.

"Eunhyuk oppa...saranghae..." Hyoyeon whispered gently, as she moved into his embrace.

"I'm so glad, Hyoyeon-ssi....saranghaeyo," Eunhyuk replied gently. His arms wove tighter around her waist, and he pulled her closer to him. She stared as his full and soft-looking lips, and she couldn't help but become drawn to them. He was so handsome, so charismatic, and she couldn't help but fall in love with h--

"GAH!!! WHAT AM I THINKING!!!!" Hyoyeon screamed. The couple suddenly stopped what they were doing and turned to look at her with an annoyed expression, and she soon realized that everyone in the park was now staring at her due to her sudden and crazy looking outburst.

Hyoyeon immediately blushed. "Joesonghabnida! Joesonghabnida!" she repeated over and over to everyone around her. Extremely flustered, Hyoyeon quickly pushed her hair out of her eyes and quickened her pace.

Omona, why did I think of that?! Me and Anchovy-face have nothing together! He could never like me! And...and...I certainly don't like him.... We're merely business partners in a way. Hyoyeon shook her head as she opened the door to the hospital and slipped inside.

As she walked down the halls, she thought of anything that happened in the past that could've suggested that she and Eunhyuk could've been a couple at any point in time.

There was that time when he taught me how to do that move....and for some reason he was totally understanding and kind unlike usual...oh, but that was because he wanted me to treat him to dinner. But then there was also the time when I sprained my ankle after dancing too much. He was completely gentle with me and he nursed me until I felt all better........but then again, he needed me as a dance partner for that one major competition......but what about...nah, that's just because he wanted me to compliment him back.

No matter how hard she thought, Hyoyeon couldn't figure out what her feelings were exactly for Lee Hyukjae, and the more she thought, the more confused she got. All she managed to remember was the images of him being annoying or ticking her off somehow....

But this morning, then when I saw him lying there, bleeding, my heart felt like it was going to stop. I felt like crying, and I think I did, even though I never cry. And then when he spoke, I was so relieved, and I was so glad that he was okay that I felt like my life would never be this happy ever again. And then...he said...

"I'm glad you're safe..."

It struck Hyoyeon like a lightning bolt. She had been in love with him, and she was sure he was in love with her too. There could be no other explanation. Hyoyeon felt a smile suddenly materialize on her face. I've got to ttry and wake him up, so I can tell him how I feel. She quickly rushed towards the hospital room where Eunhyuk was situated and and burst in through the doors.

And she stopped right in her tracks.
 

"DETECTIVE SHINee: WE'LL GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS!"

Hyoyeon could only blink her eyes countless times in order to make sure what she was seeing was real. She noticed that the hospital room was in much of a dismay, what with random fangirls suddenly popping out from nowhere and cheering "SHINee! SHINee! SHINee! SHINee!"

Hyoyeon gritted her teeth. "What....did you byangyukkus do...?"

Key popped the collar of his suit and grinned, causing more squeals to abrupt. "You like it? I think we look pretty good."

Jonghyun suddenly rushed over to Key's side and put his arm around Key. "Detectives JongKey!" He annouced, and stuck his right arm out. Jonghyun and Key turned to stare straight at Hyoyeon and exclaimed "DYNAMIC DUO CROSS!!"

(A/N Ring a bell at all, Shawols?) 

Hyoyeon could only stare disgustedly at the five boys who were clearly too much into cosplay.

"Why are you guys doing this now of all times?" Hyoyeon asked, quite flabbergasted.

It was Minho's turn to walk up. Everything about Minho defined "Flaming Charisma", including his walk, which made more fangirls faint in the process.

"This hospital is going to be rich after you 5 are done here," Hyoyeon muttered.

"Hyoyeon-noona," Minho said with a strangely serious expression that didn't at all fit the jokng mood that the other SHINee members had set up. "You can't hide from us that it was no ordinary people who did this to our beloved hyungs--"

Key scoffed. "Your beloved hyungs. I'm just here so I can wear a fancy suit--"

"Would you just shut up?!" Jonghyun yelled.

"YAH! DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!"

"--so we want to take revenge as real men. We don't want to leave this unsettled, so we have decided to unleash our inner selves, in the form of lovely and intelligent men in suits, so that we can finish off the mission that our hyungs left us."

"Are you kidding me? What can you do that the police can't?" Hyoyeon argued. "And where'd you get those suits?"

"Minho bribed the nurses," Taemin muttered.

Onew stepped up slowly. He slowly raised his hand to his glasses and pulled them off slowly with a dazzling smile on his face and tucked them away. And there goes another batch of fangirls.... Hyoyeon thought.

"We are the shining SHINee," Onew announced proudly. "And we have something that the police don't have--"

"Is it Taemin?" Key jutted in from nowhere.

"I told you to BE QUIET!" Jonghyun roared.

"--and that is our powerful teamwork. Once we have a goal, nothing will get in our way. Our natural talents are just a part of it, and the rest we work for. I assure you, Yeonnie-noona, that unless we unmask the culprits who did this to our hyungs, we will never rest in peace!"

Hyoyeon could only stare at them in disbelief. By now, all the fangirls were completely knocked out except for one who was frozen and looked completely paralyzed. Geez, they're too popular for their own good.

"And now, if you don't mind," Onew smiled. "Hyoyeon noona, take care of our hyungs for us and we'll be on our way." He gave a quick salute and turned away. At that moment, all the fangirls perked up to life again and started cheering and screaming and chanting at the top of their lungs as SHINee went on their way as Detective SHINee

Taemin did a few complicated somersault and cartwheels and jumped out the window, at which Minho followed him with his athletic jumps and flips. Onew decided to follow their lead......but ended cartwheeling right into the wall. He looked up embarassedly, bowed a few times at the girls and jumped out the window after Minho and Taemin.

And that left JongKey.

Hyoyeon turned to them with an incredulous look on her face.

"Well...?"

"Aigo, those babos," Key scoffed in disgust. He started walking towards the front door. "Let's go out the front door like real men."

"Ne, because men don't get manlier than us," Jonghyun grinned. Together, they chanted "DYNAMIC DUO CROSS!" and dissapeared out the door.

Hyoyeon could only stare after them, but then, a smile cracked on her face. As confused and boggle-minded as they were most of the time, she suddenly felt she had some faith in them.

Okay, okay, I get it. I'm sorry. I should focus on the story at hand and stop getting off topic.

But as a SHAWOL, I really wanted to incoporate SHINee into this story somehow, and now i found a way. I promise I won't focus on them too mucch (of course, unless you want me to ;) ) and go back to Taeteuk.

And for those of you who found THIS exhausting, I apologize but next update'll be YoonYul. This was sort of like a comic relief break for me and for all of you who are getting too caught in the suspense.

And btws, sorry about too  much JongKey rofl. WHat can I say? I love them and I've been reading Ouran High School Host Club so yeah...hehe.....
