Day 1: Terrible Reflection

Entwined Destinies

"NO! GET AWAY FROM ME! GET AWAY!"

Leeteuk couldn't believe what he seeing.

Taeyeon had really just screamed those words at him, her expression completely wild, her eyes blazing.

It was as if her sanity was all gone.

"Taeyeon-ssi...kinchena...?"

He tried to approach her slowly, cautiously. However the moment he stretched his arms out, she lashed out at him, hitting his hand hard with her leg.He cried out in pain, as he heard the unmistakable sound of the bones dislodging beneath the skin. Regardless, he did his best to ignore it.

"Taeyeon...! It's just me...I won't do anything to you..." he tried his best.

Taeyeon spun around to look at him, her eyes paranoid, her lips parted to allow for her rapid breathing, her expression still stricken with some sort of unknown and sudden pain that he couldn't understand.

And  whatever it was, it was driving her insane.

"Get away from me...." Taeyeon breathed, her voice distorted and eerie. "GET AWAY FROM ME!"

Leeteuk could no longer keep his tone subtle. "TAEYEON! SNAP OUT OF IT!" he yelled. But it was as if she could no longer hear him.

Startling Leeteuk, she let out another piercing scream as another wave of pain seemed to pass through her, sending her collapsing into the ground. Her fingers curlled and uncurlled stiffly as she held onto her head, as if to keep it from being blown apart.

"TAEYEON!"

It was a ghastly sight and frightening sound to see and hear in the murky darkness of that night. It was if she was transforming into some sort of monster right then and there on the forest floor.

Knowning it was useless to call out to her any longer, Leeteuk clutched his injured hand and rushed towards her. While she was still distracted by her own pain, he wrapped his arms carefully around her as best as he could without furthering damaging his own hand, and lifted her struggling body up before she could react.

"ANNYO!" she screamed even louder than before. "LET ME GO! LET ME GO! YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME! ANNYO!" She started screeching and flailing and kicking uncontrollably, punching and flailing and doing anything she could to get out. Leeteuk clenched his teeth as he did his best to hold onto her. Fortunately, in her moment of distress, Taeyeon's mind was in no condition to control her limbs or think properly, and Leeteuk used that to his advantage to hold her firmly. He was normally already stronger than she was, and because of her condition Taeyeon was now even weaker than she was before.

He started moving as quickly as he could in the direction of the mansion. Right now she needed to relax, and being in this godforsaken forest for any longer would not do either of them any good. He did his best not to look at her horrid expression as he clambered onwards, knowing that it could only trouble him further.

"LEETEUK!!"

Leeteuk froze immediately, the name suddenly storming out from Taeyeon's lips.

What...did she just...?

"Leeteuk..." she breathed heavily. "LEETEUK! SAVE ME!! LEETEUK, SAVE ME!!"

Leeteuk could barely register it in his mind, but before he knew Taeyeon's hip suddenly wrenched against Teukie's injured hand. He let out a cry as his grip weakened and he had to fall to his knees to keep Taeyeon from falling out of his arms.

But Taeyeon was still screaming.

"LEETEUK OPPA! Oppa! OPPA! WHERE ARE YOU?!"

She didn't even know it was me this entire time... Leeteuk felt his heart drum against his chest. She thought it was someone else holding her...but...why? And why is she calling my name now...?

Taeyeon was now exhausted as she lay in Leeteuk's arms, the screaming and flailing sapping away every bit of strength she had left.

"Oppa...oppa...why didn't you come...oppa..." she kept mumbling over and over.

Leeteuk felt something pierce his chest as he realized she was using the last amount of her energy to call for him, and only him. Emotions overwhelmed him, and just for a moment, he thought he too was going to go insane. He dipped his head and stared into Taeyeon's unregonizable eyes, and restrained from pulling away as he looked deeply into that blank and slightly unsettling stare of hers. The pitch black night acted as a reflection of her soulless eyes: in this moment she could see and sense nothing with them.

"I'm sorry..." he whispered.

No response. He knew it would take more than just his voice to heal her now. He suddenly felt useless, but he knew there truly was nothing he could do now. His hand was completely useless, and there was no way he could carry her like that.

Aigo...! Eoteoke!! If only she'd just snap out of it...!

"...oppa?!"

The voice jolted his mind, as Leeteuk's eyes flashed back to Taeyeon's face as he heard the voice, his hopes rising as he was immediately eager to see normal, bubbly and colourful eyes again, void of the blankness that'd frightened him before.

But he found himself staring at the same cold, silent stare.

"Taeyeon...?"

Leeteuk turned in the direction of the high-pitched, melodic voice, and saw a flurry of white lace and a flying mane of dark hair as Cho Hee dove down to Taeyeon.

"OMO!! TAEYEON UNNIE, LEETEUK OPPA! WHAT HAPPENED?!" Her bright eyes seemed even bigger than before, as she fully expressed her shock and grabbed onto the limp and dazed body of a person that's been a stranger to her only hours ago. And yet her worry seemed just as if not even more than Leeteuk's himself.

"CHO HEE! How did you get here?!" Leeteuk exclaimed, still in disbelief. "How did you know where to find us?!"

But Cho Hee ignored him. She found herself staring without a slight hint of fear into Taeyeon's lifeless eyes as she gripped and squeezed Taeyeon's hand repetitively, while trying to wake her up and calling her name over and over again.

"YAH! Cho Hee!" Leeteuk called out suddenly. She finally looked up. "Thank god, you're here. We can't just stay here. We have to get back to the mansion as soon as possible. I don't know what the heck came over her--be careful, she could snap at you at any moment. And I...I can't really help her myself right now." He slowly raised his now swollen and deformed right hand so Cho Hee could see with an expression of shame.

"OPPA!" Cho Hee's eyes widened. She turned away as if she couldn't bear to look at it, although she was coping completely fine with Taeyeon's state.

She suddenly took a deep breath, and tried to lift Taeyeon herself.

"ANNYO!" Taeyeon cried out. Her eyes suddenly flashed to its wild state for a moment, as she lashed out at Cho Hee, knocking her to the side.

"CHO HEE!" Leeteuk yelled as he ran over to her, seemingly ignoring Taeyeon who was starting to scream and thrash on the undergrowth again. He grabbed her hand forcefully, pulling her over to him. "Kinchenayo?!"

Cho Hee groaned. "Ne...it's nothing," she whispered back. She blew the hair out of her eyes and got up to her feet, with Leeteuk still staring at her with concern. She slowly strolled over to Taeyeon, cautiously and carefully. Leeteuk watched her with wide eyes, unable to move.

"Cho Hee! Be caref--"

"YAH UNNIE~!" she cried out suddenly. She suddenly jumped down on Taeyeon and pressed into the collar of her neck with her thumb.

At once, Taeyeon stopped thrashing, her eyes fell closed, and she went completely limp and fell obediently into Cho Hee's arms.

Leeteuk stood up swiftly, unable to register what had just happened.

"What did you--"

"Not now," Cho Hee said at once. "Hmm...this won't do...but..."

All of a sudden, in one quick movement, Cho Hee somehow managed to hoist the seemingly unconscious Taeyeon up into her arms and shoehow pull her onto her shoulders effortlessly. She shuffled a little to comfort herself with the weight, then took a surprisingly stable step forwards towards the mansion.

Leeteuk was amazed by her abnormal strength. He opened his mouth to comment on it, but she was way ahead of him.

"Just because I'm a rich girl doesn't mean I'm a spoiled brat who can't do anything for myself," Cho Hee replied. Leeteuk was surprised at the hint of coldness that frosted her tone. It was very unlike her.

She shrugged her shoulders again and hoisted Taeyeon higher up on her back.

"We better hurry back. Your hand doesn't look very good, and she definitely isn't going to recover from this from staying here."

Without a chance to reply, Leeteuk followed at once. Their footsteps echoed as they crushed the dry leaves beneath their feet with their heavy steps. Neither could manage to say a word to each other due to the fear of what could happen to Taeyeon. It seemed to thump harshly in their hearts, and drag out the time even further.

Taeyeon, please be okay...

The thought was obvious and prioritized in both of their minds, keeping the silence that much more bearable since they knew that they shared that thought in that moment.

Cho Hee's stepped faltered a little, as yet another thought formed in her mind. Leeteuk noticed this, and looked at her concernedly.

"Kinchena?"  he said. "Are you tired? Do you need help?"

Cho Hee didn't reply for a moment. Fortunately, the high tip of the mansion was now in sight.

"Oppa..." she said slowly. "Was...was that your name Taeyeon unnie was screaming back there?" Her voice was monotone, as if she really wanted to say those words. And more than anything she didn't want to hear him to say it was true.

Leeteuk looked away, hiding his expression, as the scarring image of Taeyeon rolling on the ground flashed through his mind once again. He held onto his injured hand with the other, and slowly opened his mouth to speak.

"I have no idea what she said."

******************************

Leeteuk stepped back into his room and closed the door behind him, he breathed a sigh of heaviness.

Slowly, he took off his completely soaked sweater and threw it to the side.

Taeyeon was now lying safely in Cho Hee's room, and was left completely in her care. To his relief, Cho Hee assured him that Taeyeon was going to be completely fine, and may not even remember any of the trauma after she was through.

"How do you know all of this?" he had asked her earlier.

Cho Hee simply replied with a weak wink. "You learn a thing or two when you're in my place for long." And she'd closed the door behind her, Taeyeon with her.

Leeteuk washed himself up, cleaning and drying his hair and face, and finally went into the closet, and changed out of his wet clothes. He quickly chose something out of the vast array of shirts and pants and sweaters and shoes that Cho Hee had earnestly offered him.

I wonder why she has so much male clothing up here anyway... Leeteuk thought to himself. But he shrugged the thought immediately out of his mind and went to look at his reflection in the mirror. He straightened out his shirt and sweater and looked questioningly at the queery reflection of himself.

All black...how unusual... And it was true. The lovely usual President of Ladies Leeteuk, who was normally never seen without at least a trace of white on himself was at that moment completely covered in black. He had somehow subconsciously chosen this outfit without eeven noticing it himself.

How fitting... He smiled weakly to himself as he straightened out his collar.

At last, he withdrew from the mirror and turned to the bed, where he crashed down onto the bed and looked utterly exhausted. His messy hair sprawled out over the sheets, his eyes gentle and sullen, his lips slightly parted as countless thoughts ran through his mind, remincsing all the events which had just happened in the short while. The sunlight shone weakly on him, as he laid there limply. almost unmoving.

I should really go check on Taeyeon....

But he didn't move an inch, as he continued to lay there on the bed. Part of him was too exhausted to move and just wanted to lay there and soak himself in the comfort of the soft bed, and a relaxation he hadn't felt in awhile, even if he knew it was simply pretense. Because the other half of his mind was filled with worry and fear for what could happen to Taeyeon.

What if he went in and Cho Hee said that  she had been lying, and that in fact, Taeyeon's condition was permanent and engraved deep for the rest of her life? How could he live with himself then?

Leeteuk breathed yet another long sigh as he thought of that smile of hers that he hadn't seen in awhile. He remembered the way her long and beautiful hair had flown out behind her as she jokingly ran away from him, that same teasing smile on her face. He even managed to smile weakly to himself as he remembered her charming laugh, the laughter that never failed to make him smile every time. He missed the youthful eyes, the hint of seriousness and maturity, and the slightly wink when the laughter was apparent on her pretty face.

And it hurt, to think that at least one of those things were now completely gone to him, whether it be for a short while or forever.

Leeteuk gripped the blanket on the bed slightly and turned his head to face the window. The beaming sunlight shone on him and highlighted his defined facial features.

It seemed as if the day had already started to slip through his fingers, although it wasn't even close to ending yet. With every moment he lay there with his cowardly heart, he felt the valuable time slip through his fingers, seconds and minutes and hours that could never again be retrieved.

I love you, Kim Taeyeon...

The words were frightful to him, but he knew that, within just a few more days, he would be forced to say them...

...whether he meant it or not.

Leeteuk let his eyes drift and waver away from its usual alert state, as he wondered about what his life would be if he truly had feelings for Taeyeon, and if she returned the same. He groaned to himself in frustration as the many possibilities rushed through his mind. He grappled his uninjured hand into his already messy hair and grabbed onto his head, squinting his eyes shut. How on earth was he supposed to have Kim Taeyeon develop feelings for him within twelve and a half days? He was sure that Taeyeon hadn't been exactly fond of him recently, and in fact, he'd disgusted her so much that she'd ran away from him and gotten herself into such a horrendous mess just a few hours ago.

It was completely his fault she was in such a state.

And now she had to pay for it with the innocence of her first love...

...and him with his life.

...but was it a fair trade? For one or the other of them?

He hadn't forgotten for a second that winning Taeyeon's love would mean his own death in a split second, according to what the lady had said. But it was either that or her death, which he was definitely not going to accept, not after all the trouble which he had caused her.

He shook the dillemma out of his head. He didn't need anything to distract him from that priority now: it was his obligation to save her from being killed by those gruesome people.

It's only right...but why do I feel like there's something I'm missing..something just keeps nagging at me...

Leeteuk's eyes drifted further off, and for a moment, they seemed to have a strange, wondrous glint in them. His thought was left handing as all the exhaustion and overwhelming thoughts finally overcame him. His eyes folded shut slowly and calmly, and his head tilted to the side and fell limp. The grip on the blanket relaxed, and his confused expression relaxed into one that used to be his usual expression, although it was likely still his true expression. It was one of innocence and pureness, almost like a newborn baby's.

He had finally returned to the embrace of sleep, a warmth and pleasure he hadn't fully experienced to its most comforting extents in awhile. The sunlight shone ever so gently on him, as his lips subconsciously parted into a satisfied smile, as his mind hid away from this light and allowed him to drift away into the comforting darkness.

**********************************

The rain fell gently yet beautifully, soaking everything and everyone in sight. Mothers dragged their children and hurried them inside to prevent them from catching a cold, regardless of their insistence to stay outside and frolick and play around in the light and harmless shower. Couples ran and giggled with one another as they shielded one another and looked for balconies and roofs to hide under together. Umbrellas sprung up from each and every corner, covering the streets of Seoul in a glorious array of hundreds of different colours and patterns, as everyone hurried to the place they needed to be.

Everyone but one person.

Even in the middle of that rainstorm, there stood one lady beneath a rain shelter in the middle of the city's park. She had one delicate hand placed outside of the protective covering, as she caught the raindrops with that hand, letting them flow down her slender fingers and coat the skin of her pale, smooth arms.

She had her long, curlled brown hair tied into charming pigtails with pink ribbons, and she was wearing a lovely baby blue dress that matched her complexion perfectly. She had taken of her high heeled sandals and left them aside as she stood barefeet underneath the rain shelter, her thin, slender legs slightly shivering from the light breeze. She continually glanced down at the silver watch on her wrist, and then back up again with a look of worry on her pretty face.

She was clearly waiting for someone, and that someone seemed to be extremely late.

"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH~! I'm HEEEEEEERE!"

A voice sounded from the distance, as she whirled around, her expression completely expectant. She nearly burst into a smile of relief as she saw him running towards her without an umbrella to shield him from the modest rainstorm.

"Oppa!" she cried out as he ran towards her. She tried to hide her expectant and worried expression as he came closer to her--this was his third time late in a row, and she was not about to let him off easily.

At last, he reached her place, bending down to catch his breath as drops of water dripped slightly from his hair. She restrained from moving towards and helping him...at least for now.

"Miahne!" he burst out. "I'm so so sorry! But this was actually completely against my will this time!"

"That's what you said last time," she replied coldly.

"Aniyo!" he whimpered. She had to hold her breath to prevent from bursting out at his pathetic image. "My boss kept me late for work because one of the people made a mess and I was the only one left so I had to clean it up. And then after that I was already 15 minutes late so I thought 'She's going to kill me!' So I kind of panicked and completely lost it. I drove down the wrong road TWICE and then when I finally got bak on the right road I realized I left my jacket and bag with your gift back at the place so I had to go back and--"

"Jung-Soo ah," Taeyeon interupted suddenly. He paused and looked at her, as she threw a winning smirk at him.

"You're rambling again," she laughed. Leeteuk saw her genuine smile and relaxed at once. He moved closer to her and reached into his bag and pulled out a fresh and lovely red rose.

"Forgive me, won't you?" He held the rose out to her.

Taeyeon couldn't help but smile more widely. She carefully took the rose from his fingers and into her own.

"You know..." Taeyeon said as she gazed at the deep red flowers. "That IS the third time you've been late...in a row." She looked upwards and saw that was actually truly miserable for what he'd done, and she couldn't help but soften her tone immediately. "I swear your stories get better and better every time...but since it's raining and it sounds leigt...I think I'll cut you some slack. But this is the last time. If there is a next time, I definitely won't be so lenient."

Leeteuk nodded like a little kid. "I promise."

Taeyeon smiled to herself, relaxed her arms and continued to hold onto the rose nimbly. "...now should we go?" She smiled brightly at him, and bent down to grab her shoes.

"Wait! Not yet!" Leeteuk said suddenly, and grabbed onto her arm, pulling her closer than the both of them expected. They both gasped and Taeyeon was about to step back but found that she was completely locked in his gaze.

"Well, what's the hurry?" he said slowly, his voice low and quiet, melding in with the raindrops. "I actually rather like the rain..." Je raised a hand and tucked a strand of long hair behind her ear. She shuddered as she felt the touch of his fingers against her cheek, and it certainly wasn't from the cold.

"I've always thought it was misunderstood, as if it was hiding a story of sort sort behind those heavy clouds."

"Oppa, what kind of nonsense are you talking about now?"

"You speak as if you'd actually know what nonsense truly is." He tilted his head closer to her. "Then again, the situation we're in right now is kind of unblievable too, isn't it?"

"Taeyeon murmured in agreement as she felt his soft lips gently clasp onto hers, taking her breath away and knocking away all the sense lefft in her mind. For a moment, their breaths and heartbeats melded into one, as the rain fell gently around them, shielding them and protecting them from any prying eyes, creating a place where just the two of them existed. It was a blissful and incredible moment, and typically, neither of them wanted it end, even if they both knew it had to at some point.

And so of course, Taeyeon felt it had become too much at last, and she slowly pulled away from him so that they were staring quietly and wordlessly into each other's eyes. There was no need for words, as their mutual feelings spoke for themselves through their eyes, their hands, their lips and their slight touch.

At last, Leeteuk managed to pull himself away from her. Still holding her with one hand, he pulled an umbrella out of his bag with the other.

Taeyeon couldn't help but giggle. "You babo," she laughed. "Why didn't you just use that when you were coming here?" She gently touched the sleeve of his shirt. "You're all wet for no reason."

"It was a quick run," said Leeteuk, as he opened the umbrella and was taken aback at the fact that it was bigger than he thought. "Besides, that would've meant I would habe to delay myself from seeing you for another few seconds."

Taeyeon couldn't help but slap him on the shoulder, causing him to cry out in surprise.

"You're so cheesy," she complained, a playful spark in her eyes. He didn't say a word but simply gestured for her to get underneath the umbrella with him. Coyly, Taeyeon grabbed her shoes, slipped them on quickly and stepped out into the rain puddles, underneath the umbrella with him right beside her. They walked along the now empty path of the park, taking their time and not seeming to mind the slight breeze or drizzling rain at all.

Eventually, they made their way back into the hustle and bustle of the city, expectedly still crowded with people. They steered their way through the streets that they had grown up with, the streets which they had stepped through countless times before. But this time, these familiar streets somehow provided a completely different feeling for the both of them, as they stepped forwards with matching footsteps, side by side.

They took several more turns, until they finally ended up in an emptier street.

"You know, oppa..." Taeyeon said suddenly, as she casually leaned closer to him. "Isn't it strange how I couldn't stand you before and now I'm with you like this?" She bent her head over a little more and cuddled lovingly against his neck as they walked, in a way that an ideal lover would.

Leeteuk smiled satisfactorily to himself at her sudden gesture, and reached his free hand over to run his fingers through the long hair dangling off his shoulders.

"I guess it's called a love-hate relationship?" he laughed.

"But oppa...I don't hate you...at least not now..." Taeyeon replied, slightly confused.

Leeteuk laughed again, this time louder. "You're too cute," he spoke, and he suddenly pulled away and dragged her towards the door of a place she'd never seen before. Without a moment's hesitation, Leeteuk opened the door and pushed her inside.

Taeyeon blinked rapidly as she stepped inside, and opened in disbelief. Leeteuk had taken her to a quaint yet lovely fashion boutique filled with racks and racks of formal attire, both male and female. There were also stands and stands of shoes and accesories alongside the clothes, and although Taeyeon wasn't much of a shopper, she found herself entranced by the vast arrays of ravishing colours and hypnotzing patterns and glitter.

"Pick out whatever you want," Leeteuk smiled proudly at his scheme. "You're going to have to look perfect for the dance next week." He said the last setnece while avoiding her glance.

Almost immediately, Taeyeon punched him hard in the shoulder.

"Is that what you call an invitation?"she teased. "And how do you know who I'm going with anyways?"

Leeteuk shrugged. "I heard he's really good-looking."

"You're so full of yourself."

"So it IS me."

"Of course...who else?"

The two shared their laughter for a moment until Leeteuk shoved Taeyeon towards the racks and started throwing random dresses of every which colour at her, to the dismay of the saleswoman standing there.

"Try them on," he said, still going through the racks. The saleswoman decided that the terrible sight of her careful display becoming all disheveled was too much to handle, and quietly slipped away back into the staff room. Even Taeyeon was suddenly feeling weighed down from the amount of stuff he'd thrown at her.

"A-all of it?" she trembled.

"Why not? We have time." He suddenly pulled a random black suit from the racks. "Just to make you feel better, I'll try this on at the same time."

Taeyeon nodded obediently and walked robotically towards the change rooms.

"Don't worry too much about it!" Leeteuk blurted out suddenly. "You'll look flawless in whatever you wear!"

Leeteuk turned away immediately and hid his embarassed expression, as he realized that the comment sounded extremely chessy in the reality that existed outside of his fantastical mind. Unforunately, it was this humble behaviour of turning away that missed him the opportunity to bask in himself in the unexpected reward that was the lovely and satisfied smile of Taeyeon, touched by his unexpected encouragement in such a strange situation. However, before she could reply to him properly, he slipped away into the change room in embarassmennt.

Taeyeon herself entered the adjacent change room and hung her slection of dresses on the door. She eyed them carefully, unsure of which one to pick. She nimbly through the delicate fabrics of many colours and patterns that Leeteuk had supposedly chosen fo rher. She was the type who never went shopping alone and always dragged her stylish and fashionable friends with her: this decision was more than just difficult for her.

"You'll look flawless in whatever you wear!" he had said to her.

Taeyeon bit her lip as she subsciously drifted her fingers over a white dress, peeking shyly out from beneath the other flamboyant colours. She hesitantly gave it a sharp tug, allowing it to drop from the hanger and fall into her hands. Her eyes glistened as they reflected the smooth and perfect favric of the simple, white dress.

Flawless...he'd said...

The shade of white seemed to fit that description perfectly, so simple, so pure, yet radiating in a sense of elegance and unblemished beauty.

It suits him perfectly...she smiled to herself, as she slipped on the lovely dress without another moment's consideration. She was shocked at how perfectly it seemed to fit her. The length of dress fell perfectly just below her knees, long enough to keep her comfortable, yet short enough to be considered casual. It seemed to wrap around her waist and chest perfectly, giving her an esteemed and elegant look yet it was still comfortable enough for her to move around in. She with the straps of the dres one more time and daringly lifted her head to check what she looked like in the mirror.

What she saw made her frozen in disbelief and terror.

And it had nothing to do with the dress. As expected, the dress looked perfect on her, as if it was the dress had been specially made foe her.

But it was all wrong.

Because the face looking back at her...was not her own.

She reached her hand up and grasped her face in disbelief. She was shocked when she felt the touch of the cold fingers on a smooth, pale skin that she'd never felt before in her life. The unobstrusive eyes, the pursed lips, the pointed nose...none of it was hers.

It was another person entirely.

"What...?" she spoke. The quivering voice, however, definitely belong to the Kim Taeyeon she knew herself as. It was as if she was herself, with her own mind, thoughts and voice, but trapped in this person's body.

She shook her head rapidly, hoping to shake any strange delusions out of her mind. To her dismay, when she looked back, it was the exact same reflection, staring back at her, almost mocking her patheticness.

"YAH! You slow-poke! You've been in there forever!" came Leeteuk's voice, teasingly. He knocked on the door. "Get out here!"

Eotteoke...Taeyeon shivered. What happens when he sees me like this? What will he think? HOw do I even explain this? What the heck's even going on?

She grappled and d at her face again and again, still refusing to believe that the face staring back at her was really her, as any reasonable person would.

Maybe...maybe I'm just hallucinating or something...maybe I'll see Teukie oppa and it'll all be okay again...

She took a deep breath.

Well...I only have one option anways now...

She grasped the doorknob and pushed. Immediately, she saw Leeteuk standing there, looking surprisingly handsome in a black suit that he'd simply picked out randomly.

"There you ar--"

Leeteuk's words became caught in his throat as he met eyes with hers.

His eyes were startled as if he was looking at a complete stranger.

"Oppa...?" Taeyeon whispered. ...crap...something really happened...

In a sudden blink of the eyes, Taeyeon suddenly found herself being grabbed by the waist lovongly. She opened her eys and found herself being held within Leeteuk's arms, and he was looking down at her endearingly, a look that could've made her heart melt under normal circumstances.

"Just as I thought," Leeteuk whispered into her ears. "You look flawless."

WHAT...?!

"Oppa?!" Taeyeon exclaimed. "Aren't you...shouldn't you...?"

Buet Leeteuk wasn't listening to her anymore, as his eyes seemed to be strayed elsewhere. He suddenly grabbed her shoulders and turned her around. They suddenly came face to face with a mirror, as it shone the reflection of the both of them together within the frame.

"Aren't we just the most perfect couple?"

The words seemed to pierce Taeyeon's heart like a knife.

Under normal circumstances, these words would've brough her unmeasurable joy and happiness, words that would've made her feel loved and endeared, words that would arouse the same feelings in herself.

But this time, she felt like falling apart as he said those words.

Because the reflection looking back at her in the mirror, the one that Leeteuk was holding onto, the one receiving his loving gaze and fluttering words...it was not herself.

And had it been the image of a complete stranger, she didn't think it would've hurt as much as if it was the image of this person.

She suddenly felt a subscious tear slide down her cheek, a tear that she didn't even feel coming.

Taeyeon hurriedly tried to wipe it away, but it was much too late, Leeteuk had already noticed.

"Aigo, what's wrong?!" Leeteuk exclaimed worriedly as he pulled her to face him. He raised her hand to wipe away the residue of her tear, and as she felt his touch, she a familiar shiver, but it felt completely wrong this time.

"Oppa...don't..." she whimpered as she pushed his arms away. "I'm not...I mean..haven't you noticed anything?" She turned away as she feared the answer.

"What are you talking about What's wrong?"

What's wrong...he says. He should've noticed....but...but why is he acting as it's normal? Have I gone crazy? Taeyeon suddenly felt extremely dizzy and fatigued.

"Yah! Cho Hee, kichenayo?!"

The words were more than enough to send the pain completely shattering through her heart. She felt her knees buckle, and she collapsed to the ground in shock.

He just called me...

"CHO HEE!"

As Leeteuk hurried over to her side, Taeyeon looked to see her reflection int he mirror on emore time. And it was true. Looking back at her was indeed the image of Huang Cho Hee, kneeling on the ground with a tired expression, her hand clutched to her ches.t

Leeteuk suddenly put his hand up to check her temperature. HIs touch seemed through burn through her skin.

"Your temperature seems fine...I--I have no idea what's going on...should I call the ambulance?" He whipped out his phone.

"NO!" Tayeon cried. In the corner of her eyes, she saw Cho Hee reach her arms out and hold Leeteuk back. "I--I'm fine...it...it's just..." She turned her gaze upwards and started deeply into his alluring dark eyes.

"...why can't I have you?" She found the words spilling out of before she coulod stop herself. "You're right next to me yet you don't belong to me at atll! Why can't you just be mine?! I want to be with you so bad!" Taeyeon realized what she'd done.

With horror, she spun her heaed around ad realized that Cho Hee's image in the mirror had done and said the exact same thing...and that image was the only one that Leeteuk could perceive.

Leeteuk's concern eyes immediately calmed down, and suddenly were restored to its look of sympathy and passion. He suddenly leaned towards her, bending closer and closer. He reached out to her slowly.

Hajima! HAJIMA! IT'S NOT ME!

She wanted to cry those words out...but how could she? Just a few seconds earlier she'd screamed that she'd wanted to be with him, that she'd yearned for him, and those were hardly lies.

So how could she resist him now that he was giving her exactly what she wanted?

He felt his slight touch on her arms, followed by the immediate pressure of his lips pressed up against the lips of the body of Cho Hee's she seemed seemed to be entrapped in. Her eyes subconsciously closed and she foolishly deepened the kiss, throwing her arms around him. It was twisted and cruel: she wsas receiving all the confessions and feelings from the man she clearly seemed to be infatuated with with, yet it was completely wrong.

He called her by another name.

He saw her with another appearance.

To him, she was another woman entirely.

The love and passion he was giving to her in that moment didn't belong to her, and it was all meant for another woman. She was never meant o feel or experience any of it.

But there she was: and she just couldn't seem to let herself go. The kiss only seemed to get deeper and deeper with every second, and she was only getting more and more intoxicated with it all.

Daringly, she suddenly squeezed her eyes open. They widened in terror as she caught sight of the image in the mirror.

It was the image of Leeteuk in a deep embrace with Cho Hee.

But that was her.

She was the one holding him, not Cho Hee.

Unable to maintain her thoughts anymroe, she suddenly let go of him and swung leg her leg sharply at the mirror. There was a loud crash, as the piece of glass shattered into pieces and came crashing into the ground. The shards went flying everywhere, as she shielded herself from them.

She suddenly heard a terrifying scream, and opened her eyes.

Then she saw that a shard of glass had pierced Leeteuk's heart.

The blood was pouring out like a river, and his expression was starting to lose all its liveliness and colours. The red liquid spilled all over the floor, soaking into his clothes and staining her own once pure white dress. She looked into the shards on the floor, specked with red, and realized that she'd returned to her normal self.

She looked up again, and saw that Leeteuk's eyes were looking over at her sadly, the remaining amount of life slowly dissappearing from them.

"LEETEUK! NOOOO~!"

**********************************

Taeyeon gasped as she bolted upright from her bed, her head throbbing from the terrible dream.

Whoa...that was intense... She grabbed onto her head which still seemed to be hurting.

What happened...? Where am I even...?

She looked around and at once realized that she was back in her room at the mansion. It was around noon outside, as the sun was glaring its brightest. She recalled Leeteuk rescuing her from the forest and then somehow...she'd blanked out.

Urgh...what a horrible dream...I really, really hope it doesn't mean anything...

"Aigo! Taeyeon unnie, you're awake again!"

Taeyeon looked up, and saw none other Cho Hee entering the room, carrying a tea tray with a relieved smile on her face.

"Cho Hee..."
