One Decisive Name
Entwined DestiniesTaeyeon couldn't believe it. She was staring at him in the eye, and she still couldn't believe he was actually there. What happened? Taeyeon's mind failed to grasp properly onto what had happened. For all she'd remembered she'd been walking around and exploring the mansion after she blew Cho Hee off because she needed to get her mind off all the stress. As she wandered aimlessly, she managed to stumble across a weird door. Her curiousity had taken the best of her, and when she stepped inside, she found herself in the most beautiful ballroom she'd ever seen. She let herself get entranced by its beauty, and before she knew it, she had somehow fabricated herself an inner fantasy that she got too caught up in. It only got carried away when she saw Leeteuk in the form of a prince approaching her. Eventually, she somehow managed to trip and fall and break all her delusional illusions apart and snap her right back to reality. And so she woke up, thinking that it was all over, thinking that her mindless dreams and momentary happiness would be left behind and stored away in her heart. But she was wrong. For she hadn't been alone the entire time. Leeteuk had actually been there. The dance, the talk, the warm feeling of being his arms...it was actually for real. It hadn't been an illusion at all. The only thing that was an illusion was everything else.....everything except for Leeteuk. And she'd failed to see it and had somehow completely opened up to him. As Taeyeon looked into Leeteuk's eyes, she wondered how she'd failed to realize that it was actually him dancing with her the entire time, and not some strange image she'd come up with herself. Never could she think of dreaming up eyes as perfect as those, eyes that seemed to look beyond your outer appearance and pierce straight into your soul, reading every lie and thought you had. However, she had fabricated up the prince outfit, as it seemed to fit into the illusion, as Leeteuk was simply wearing a white shirt and jeans. Suddenly, Taeyeon got up and pushed Leeteuk away, as hard and agressively as she could. He fell backwards and let out a startled gasp as Taeyeon stood up angrily and turned and walked away from Leeteuk, who was still sprawled on the ground, shocked and confused. "T--Taeyeon?" he called after, still not bothering to stand up. "Don't talk to me," came Taeyeon's startling response. Her voice was completely ice cold, and her backed still turned towards him. "Taeyeon-ssi?" "I said, don't talk to me." Taeyeon turned around to face Leeteuk, and it was only then that Leeteuk realized there were tears flowing uncontrollably out of her eyes, taking Leeteuk by surprise. Her fists were clenched, and it seemed as if she crying more out of an anger than of sadness. But then, it could've been a combination of both. Leeteuk scrambled to get to his feet. "T--Taeyeon--ssi?" he tried yet another time. He started moving towards her. "DON'T COME ANY CLOSER!" Taeyeon screeched. Her eyes had flared up, and her tone clearly wasn't friendly at all. Her breath had quickened, and her voice had been so imposing that Leeteuk froze right where he was. Silence started to once again fill the room as Taeyeon's eyes continued gazing fiercely into Leeteuk's shocked and confused ones. "Wh--what's wrong...Taeyeon...?" Leeteuk dared to break the silence. The question seemed to cause Taeyeon agony, as her eyes widened in terror for a moment. She slowly dipped her head down, hiding her face from Leeteuk. "What's wrong, he says," said Taeyeon, her voice a barely audible whisper. She raised her head again, her gaze even more threatening and alarming than before. Suddenly, she walked right up to him and gave him an infuriated shove to the shoulders. "'WHAT'S WRONG?!'" she yelled at Leeteuk, who didn't seem to be putting up any defense whatsoever. "AFTER ALL YOU'VE DONE TO ME ALL YOU CAN SAY IS 'WHAT'S WRONG'?!" She kept shoving and punching and pushing Leeteuk in her sudden madness, as her hair was starting to slide out of her ponytail and getting flung all over the place, making her looked more deranged than ever before. Leeteuk started trying tofend for himself as Taeyeon's blow got harder and harder. "Buoya?!--Taeyeon-ah--STOP---" "YOU...YOU ARE A JERK!!" she continued, not holding back whatsoever regardless of his desparate cries. Her tears didn't seem to stop regardless of her overwhelming anger, as they just pouring out more and more as she hit him. "YOU...you tricked into believing you were a good person, then you betrayed me and all of my friends, and now you try to TRICK ME AGAIN?!" Leeteuk flailed desparately one more time and managed to grab hold of one of Taeyeon's wrist. "YAH! LET GO OF ME!" she cried out, using every amount of sanity she had left to try and pull away. "Taeyeon-ssi, calm down," Leeteuk whispered softly. Taeyeon whimpered desparately as she tried pulling her hand away yet another time. Her tears still hadn't dried and were flowing even harder than befoer at Leeteuk's sudden touch. "Let--go--of--me!" she cried. But Leeteuk refused to let go and held tight. By now Taeyeon was flailing about any which way, desparately trying to break free. "I can't believe I fell for you and that stupid lie dance of yours!" She suddenly raised her other hand and slapped Leeteuk right in the face. Leeteuk's eyes widened suddenly, but whether it was because of her violent action or at her sudden mindless exclamation, it was unclear. Taeyeon didn't seem to realize the mistake of her words or actions as she continued struggling for her hand back, completely not noticing Leeteuk's sudden stone cold and emotionless expression. Abruptly, he suddenly let go of hand right when she was leaning forwards. Taeyeon suddenly lost her sense of balance and she cried out as she toppled forwards, once again falling on top of him. The both of them crashed to the ground and she suddenly found herself in an even more awkward position than before, one of her hands still placed in Leeteuk's grasp. The shock was enough to stop her tears at once. Taeyeon naturally did what she could to try and get up, but she suddenly felt a lurching feeling in her stomach and then finally a resounding thud as her head was slammed against the cold, hard floor of the ballroom. Her eyes widened as she looked up at Leeteuk, who was holding her down against the ground. He had flipped her over, and was now the one on top, pinning her down. It was useless to struggle, as she knew at this point this his strength truly overwhelmed hers by a lot, and that he had been holding back the entire time. "Wh--what are you doing?" Taeyeon quivered. She knew that if anyone were to walk in at this point, namely Cho Hee who appeared to have a crush on Leeteuk, the reaction would be scandalous. "Getting you to calm down so you'll listen to me," Leeteuk responded. His voice was completely calm, as if this was something he was used to doing every day. Taeyeon could do nothing at this point but helplessly get lost in his eyes again, the eyes that were suddenly staring down on her as if she was nothing more than a doll, with no mind or ideas of her own. Her wrists were starting to throb because of how hard Leeteuk was holding on to them. "Is this what you normally do to girls to get them to 'calm down'?" Taeyeon pried, her tone surprisingly airy and provocative. Leeteuk looked taken aback at once, but his eyes relaxed once again. She felt his hands press even harder still on her wrists, getting tangled in her now completely loose mane of hair. Her eyes suddenly narrowed as she gazed deeper into his eyes. "Well I'm not the same as them," she murmured. Taeyeon brought her leg up and nailed him hard in the side, causing him to scream in agony and release his hold on her immediately. Taeyeon jumped out and knocked him to the side, ignoring the fact that she felt tears welling up inside her again for apparently no reason. She couldn't bear to let Leeteuk see her in such a pathetic state all of a sudden, so she did the only thing she could at that moment. Leeteuk shook his head to ease the pain when he suddenly heard the sound of footsteps racing away from him. "TAEYEON! WAIT! HAJIMA!" he yelled after her desparately as he saw that she was running towards the door. Leeteuk gritted his teeth as she didn't even look back once. She pulled the huge door open with some difficulty and dissapeared behind it. Leeteuk stumbled to his feet desparately, as he rushed after her. "TAEYEON!!!" she heard him yell in anxiety as she ran down the hall, her arm trying to shield away her tears. I won't listen to him. I don't and won't trust him, ever again.... Her resonating footsteps were echoed by his, but her willpower was more than enough to keep herself from turning around and falling for what she believed to be his stupid, pathetic lies. Even if it meant ignoring his cries that were sounding more and more desparate and heavy wth every second that passed by. JUST SHUT UP!!! she wanted to scream. She wanted nothing more than to get away from him right now, to get away from what she thought were his frank words and honest emotions. What she thought was an angel's smile but turned out to be the mask of a devil. What she'd hoped to be the answer to all her questions but only ended up to be more problems she couldn't figure out. "Taeyeon-unnie?" she suddenly heard a voice ahead of her. She looked up to see Cho Hee standing ahead of her, looking extremely confused and concerned at the sight of her unnie running straight towards her with hurtful tears streaming uncontrollably out of her eyes. Taeyeon ignored Cho Hee completely and ran right past her towards the front door of the mansion. "TAEYEON UNNIE!! ANNYO!!! IT'S GETTING DARK!!" she heard Cho Hee call after her. But Taeyeon didn't care anymore. In fact, there nothing more she wanted right now than to get absorbed and taken away by the darkness, with would shield her mind and thoughts from that person. "UNNIE, SHIRO!!" Cho Hee called desparately, as Taeyeon heard Cho Hee's heels click sharply yet slowly from a distance away. Knowing that the bubbly heiress with her flamboyant clothes couldn't never win against the messy-haired, dirty-clothed, slightly paranoid city girl, Taeyeon flung open the doors and melded into the starry, cloudless night sky, slightly covered by the gently swaying leaves of the tall trees, framing the night sky perfectly. She let her feet carry her pointlessly, and aimlessly through the forest that she'd once dreaded to be in. She'd once thought it was a tangle of messes, of unknown secrets and puzzles that could please someone to the point of overwhelming pride, or scare someone so horrificly that they'd never be able to see it in the same way again. It was complicated yet simple, beautiful yet terrible, shining yet shrouded, miserable yet completely content. And yet somehow, Taeyeon managed to feel completely comfortable within its presence. She'd despised it so much before, yet when she collapsed behind a random tree in exhaustion from all the running, she hadn't felt so comforted in awhile. Despite the heavy breathing and the turmoil thoughts, she found she could calm down here for some reason, and confide her unspoken thoughts in it in a way. He keeps lying to me, Taeyeon breathed heavily. He keeps lying to me, then fooling me, then he lies to me again....and I keep falling for it.... over and over again. Why did i even dance with him? Why was I so illusioned that opened my heart up to him? Why do I feel a plummeting feeling in my chest every time I see him? Why do I want to strangle him with my own hands yet hug him as tightly as I can when he looks into my eyes? She groaned in agony as she remembered her stupidity, leaned her head back against the trees, and closed her eyes, frustrated at herself and every thing that was going on around her. Not to mention being stuck in the middle of nowhere with a bubbly-brained, Jessica-like, doll-faced heiress and an arch-enemy/person that makes me want to rip all my hair out, with no way of getting home or contacting friends. If you think about it, it's more than enough to make a person go crazy. CRACK! The sound was piercing and loud, making Taeyeon jolt awake. She gritted her teeth angrily. How dare he follow me here.... She sharpened her eyes daringly, clenching her fists. She flipped her messy head of hair in the direction where she heard the sound behind her, and steadied her breathing. "HOW DARE YOU--!" She froze immediately. Taeyeon knew she was looking at a dark shadow like she'd suspected to see, but there was something unfamiliar about it. Whoever it was wasn't wearing white, and was instead coated completely in black. Aniyo.... Taeyeon remained rooted to the spot, unable to avert her gaze away from the unknown stranger. She was unable to move for some reason. "Crap...you caught me..." The voice was distorted and creepy, to the point that Taeyeon couldn't even tell if it was a male or female voice. It was almost unhuman, and the way it spoke was like a devil's trawl. It sent chills up her spine, but still, she could do nothing but stand there. She still couldn't see the face of the person still, as it was still hidden in the shadows. The shadowed stranger suddenly reached to his or her side and grasped onto something. Taeyeon's eyes widened in horror. "I wasn't planning on harming you now...." the voice continued. The shadow pulled something long and narrow out. "...but now that you know I'm here I guess I have no choice..." With a quick motion of its black-gloved hands, a glistening yet sharp blade was unsheathed, and it shone dangerously underneath the moonlight. An evil teeth-baring grimace shone along with it. It was eerie and extremely horrific. At the sight of the weapon, Taeyeon knew she'd done enough stupid-freezing-useless-heroine-to-the-spot-crap. Her eyes widened, and she took a step backwards cautiously. The person mirrored her, and stepped forward abruptly, startling her and causing her to gasp. The blade was now pointed straight at her, and could enter her body at any moment. "No one will help you now, pretty lady...." the voice cackled gruesomely. Taeyeon took another step backwards. "I wonder why you're not screaming your lungs out yet. Don't worry, it won't provoke me. I like to make my duties slow and painful...." "W--what do you want from me?" Taeyeon shivered. The cackling voice grew louder. "Why is it that everyone is always asking these kinds of questions nowadays? Why this? Why that? It's kind of annoying hearing the same things over and over, don't you think?" Taeyeon didn't say a word as she took another step backwards and reached her arms behind her, her hands secretly flailing for anything that might help her. Luckily, the thing didn't notice. It suddenly raised the dagger up its mouth and it disturbingly with its tongue, slowly and delibarately. It was a such a simple yet terrible thing to do, as if it was tasting the salty bloods of all the past victims of the blade, forever stained and imprinted onto the clean metal. Taeyeon felt another chill run through her body. Part of her wanted to scream, but the other part asked herself what good would it do? She was way too far from the thick-walled, gated mansion, and there certainly wouldn't be anyone else in this strangely foresaken forest. Yet only one name managed to sneak its way into Taeyeon's mind. One name... She closed her eyes momentarily to get rid of the thought, the thought that shouldn't be in her mind now of all times. "I know what you're thinking," the voice sneered. "You want to scream, like anyone else would in such a situation, but you don't know if you should. Look at yourself. Whether or not you scream now isn't going to change a thing. Your destiny has been determined, but since I'm a generous person, I'll let you play a game. If you win, I'll let you go. If I win, this blade goes right into your chest in a second." Taeyeon could only look back, not knowing whether or not to agree. "Come on, there's nothing better for you to do now, just agree, otherwise I end this even faster--" "ARASEO!" she screamed, immediately regretting it afterwards. An terrifying smirk appeared in the shadow, the perfect white teeth glistening under the moon's reflection. "I knew it, you're just like all the others," the voice murmured. "But that's okay, because I've never lost this game before. And don't even bother thinking about escaping once you've lost. Others have tried, and made it worse for themselves." The shadow casually cleaned the blade with its sleeve. "So here are the rules. I'll give you one scream, and only one. You're going to yell it, screech it, holler it out as loud and as long as you want, however you want." Taeyeon stood still as she continued listening to what this person had to say. "But....there's obviously a catch," it continued. "Your scream will be the cry for help, the cry of distress, a desparate desire of dependence for another. That's right. It's going to have to be someone else's name, whoever you want, I don't care, but they're going to have to respond to you. Only one name my dearie, one name...." Taeyeon clenched her fists in anxiety as she finally realized where this was going. "So you've finally realized..." the terrible laughter came back. "That's right, you're going to call the name of anyone you want, and if that person shows up at all, I'll let you go. If they don't, you will be nothing but a lovely bleeding corpse in just a matter of minutes." The shadow threw its head back and cackled viciously and loudly. Taeyeon felt her fists curl tighter within themselves. She felt her nails start to dig into the smooth flesh of the skin, but she didn't care, or rather, she couldn't even feel it anymore, because her entire body seemed to have froze over. The dagger was still there, reflecting in her eyes, and she knew it was too late to back out of the game anyhow. One name...... Taeyeon heard the voice echoing in her head. One name..... "I'll give you thirty seconds, if you don't answer by then, I'll assume you lose," the voice continued. "Oh, and by the way, don't even bother calling your own name. That's cheating, and if you do that, I'll kill you even faster." The wind blew around Taeyeon, tickling her, and provoking her to say an answer. At that moment, a lingering cloud suddenly shuffled its way over slowly and covered the moonlight, shadowing the entire place in complete darkness. The trees that she'd been so comforted by before now seemed to be surrounding her, threatening to strangle her with one wrong move. The once glinting blade and terrible smile had dissapeared at this point now as well, and she had no idea where it'd gone to. She slowly moved her feet, hearing the cracking of stones beneath her. One name....one name.... Taeyeon clenched her fists tighter still, and her head suddenly bowed down in defeat. Only one name... There's only one person I can call, Taeyeon closed her eyes subtly, trying to squeeze away the tears that were going to come out again if she wasn't careful. One name... The clouds suddenly unveiled the moon, and Taeyeon gasped. She suddenly felt a stinging pain in her hands, where her nails had dug into her flesh, and all the feelings and senses came back to her in a rush. She felt a strong arm looped around her neck and another holding her arms back. Frightened, she slowly moved her head slowly to her left. "You have 10 seconds..." the voice was right next to her ear, and the whisper sounded terrible, and gruesome. She saw the glint of the blade out of the corner of her eyes. She saw the horrific smile reflecting on the polished surface of the blade. One name... Taeyeon closed her eyes, and opened . His name.... Short and sweet does it, cuz certain people *coughs* or should I say certain Rocket Ship Monkeys have been threatening to kill me if I didn't update :P ...well, maybe it wasn't that sweet and in a way it's over exaggerated and terrible and trying too hard to sound like Stephen King but...
