"MISS! MISS! SLOW DOWN! MASTER IS REQUESTING TO SEE YOU."

As the bodyguards continued to chase the girl, she laughed, running to her hearts' content. Feeling like she was running alongside with the cool wind, she finally felt what was like to attain the feeling of being free as she pressed on, not wanting to stop until she draws her last breath of air.

The girl suddenly made a sharp turn as she sneaked herself into an alleyway, leaning against the wall as she heavily breathed in and out, trying to recover herself as she relaxed herself, hoping that they will stop there pursue and go away.

When the men noticed her disappearance, they split into groups heading in various directions in hopes of finding her.

*Huff, Huff, Huff*

Just when she heard there voices coming closer towards her, she froze, attempting to stay as still as she can, afraid that their little game of tag will soon be over.

Luckily for her, the guards were looking around frantically that they failed to look at the most obvious places. So they ran past where she was hiding, continuing their search for her elsewhere, unaware that she was right in front of them.

She stayed there for awhile before walking back into the crowded streets. Just when she was about to merge with the crowd, she bumped into someone as they both fell on the ground. Parallel to one another, she winced at the pain as she slightly brushed it off before looking at the person who she bumped into.

"DON'T YOU HAVE EYES? WATCH WHERE YOUR GOING!"

She roared out as he twitched at the ladies sudden remark, causing him to apologize quickly before she explodes more. Just when she was about to turn the other way, she stopped and turned back, feeling that there was something wrong.

The guy that she bumped into got up slowly and bowed a perfect 90° before he started walking. Just when he was about to walk away, he bumped into someone causing him to fall back a step or two.

Just when he thought he would have to hit the floor once again, it never happened. The boy sighed, but when he felt someone hold him by the arms, he couldn’t help but smell her fragrance.

"WATCH WHERE YOUR GOING KID!"

He roared madly while the girl looked at him fumingly as he quickly shot a glare at them, while he straightened his suit.

"Hey mister, you should apologize, you are the one who bumped into him in the first place. Apologize."

"Hey kid, do you not know who I am? Someone as lowly as you never should speak to me like this." With that, the man walked off.

"What the– " 

She was about to chase after him when someone pulled her back, preventing her from doing anything she’ll regret. The boy held onto her sleeve as she turned back, wanting to punch whoever it was who blocked her way. But she stopped and look at the kid who was holding her back, not wanting any attention towards them than there was.

"Let go. I was going to beat the crap out of that guy!"

"T–T–Thank y–you."

"For what?"

"For s–saving me back t-there."

"I didn't do it for you."

"Then why d–did you do i–it?"

The girl stared at him but she sighed, waving her hand in the air as a Taxi pulled over beside them.

"I'm feeling extremely nice today, I'll help you get to the place you want to go."

"R– R– REALLY?"

He shouted out like a little kid, catching her off guard. No one around her had ever displayed his kind of behaviour to anything, but with this guy in front of her, he felt like a little kid in the candy store, the whole world was like a playground for him.The girl cleared as he stuffed his hands in his bag, pulling out an huge envelope with an address on it.

"Here?" He nodded as she helped him into the cab.

During the ride, she couldn't help but stare at the address that he had given her.  Taipei Hospital.

"Hi, Yan Ya Lun is here to see Dr. Lu." She stated as the clerk nodded, signalling them to proceed.

"H–How do y–you know my n–name?"

The girl glanced at the boy named Ya Lun who had curiosity written all over his face. 

"Sorry, when you handed me your envelope, I peaked inside... But I only looked at your name! I swear, are you mad?" The boy shook his head, smiling for the first time.

"You finally smiled." She whispered quietly as his smile gradually became bigger, despite her quiet voice, he could hear her crystal clear.

This was the first time that someone complimented on his smile, it's was nice to hear.

When they reached the door to Mr. Lu's office, the door suddenly opened before they had could, giving her a fright. "Oh sorry, I must've startled you."

The man in his mid 20's slowly lifted his eyes to glance at the two people standing in front of him. Once he looked at the girl, his eyes widen as she waved at him.

"You brat! You have the guts to show your beautiful face now?"

The girl smiled brightly as she instantly head lock him quickly before he has the chance of getting away, he groaned in pain as he forgotten how manly she was.

"O– O– OUCH!"

After seconds of pain, she let him go, laughing at him. He's still the same, it's nice to know that some things never change.

Dr. Lu stared at her as he opened his arms, hoping for an hug. She smiled as she let him hug her while he pats her back, knowing that all his worries were half forgotten now.

"It's nice to see you." He whispered as she chuckled.

"Dr. Lu, how can you abandon a patient that’s in urgent need of your assistance?" She asked as he laughed, agreeing with her.

"But I want to talk to you after, got it?" She nodded, not wanting to waste this boy's time. He turned to the boy who was standing in front of them for awhile, Dr. Lu nodded as he turned his full attention to him.

"And how have you been?" He asked as the boy smiled, indicating that he was okay.

"Let's go in." He said as he helped the boy inside his office. But before Dr. Lu walked back into his office, the girl stopped him by handing the boy's envelope over to him, knowing that this envelope contains important information needed for this appointment. 

She was about to leave when he called her back urgently, knowing that she was a mastermind at escaping.

"Can you go and get me a cup of coffee?" She glared at him in disbelief.

"I'm not your maid."

"Please? Thanks, I owe you one." He stated as he walked into the room before she can reject it.

"He's already using me..." She muttered as she headed to the buy coffee.

Ya Lun's part

"If she did anything bad to you, I apologize on her behalf." Dr. Lu stated as Ya Lun shook his head.

"She's very nice." Dr. Lu stared at him, snickering at the thought of his friend being nice, that was certainly new.

"What a relief... Okay, let us begin."

After moments of scanning and going over his condition, Dr. Lu managed to come to an conclusion.

"Let's see... Did Dr. Chow go over the conditions of having Corneal transplant?" Ya Lun nodded, memorizing the entire procedure and conditions in his head already.

"Are you prepared to go into surgery as soon as possible?" Ya Lun nodded, still not knowing if this was the right decision. But his silence made Dr. Lu curious, a lot of patients would immediately agree to the surgery if they knew the precautions.

So what is he waiting for?

"This might be a little personal but what do you plan to do once your recovery period is finished?" Ya Lun remained quiet, knowing that he himself hasn't gotten that far yet.

His future looked dim.

"It's okay if you don't want to tell me, but I'll be here if you want to chat." Ya Lun nodded as Dr. Lu smiled.

"O– Okay."

"Alright, let's schedule you in for...." He skimmed through the book of surgery bookings, hoping to find a time slot available.

"How about in 3 weeks from now?" Ya Lun agreed as Dr. Lu made all the necessary arrangements before ending the appointment.

"Alright, I'll see you in 3 weeks Mr. Yan."

"Here's your double double coffee with extra cream and a regular coffee." The lady stated as she picked up the drinks, making her way back. The girl was suppose to be going to her Dr. Lu's office but unexpectedly, she walked to the part of the building she wished she hasn't.

How long has it been?

As she stood there looking into the glass, all the memories that she had locked up deep inside was starting to ambush her mind. As expected, just when you think it's over... it's never over.

Flashback

-3 years ago-

"THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT! HE WOULD STILL BE BREATHING IF IT WASN'T FOR YOU!"

The girl stayed silent, knowing that this was all her fault. If she had stayed where she was, this wouldn't have happen.

"I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHEN HE IS GOING TO WAKE UP! A COMA? COMA? I HEARD THAT THERE ARE MANY PEOPLE  THAT SUFFERED THE SAME FATE AS HIM, SOME DON'T EVEN WAKE UP WHILE SOME WAKE UP 50 YEARS LATER! HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO REACT TO THIS?"

The girl felt a slap on her cheeks as they quickly reddened, she clenched her teeth and fists as hard as she can so that she wouldn't feel any pain. But the pain was too much to bare and she knew it, this was the truth.

"GET OUT! I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU HERE! IF YOU DARE TO STEP FOOT IN HERE, YOU WILL REGRET IT!"

She was ready to pounce on her like a cougar until the people behind her pulled her back, preventing her from doing any more harm than there was.

"GET OUT!" She continue to scream and fight back despite everyone pulling her back.

End of flashback

The words that she always wanted to say came out naturally, the very words that she never wanted to say because it will make her look vulnerable. But just this once, she'll break her shell.

"I'm sorry for everything... I have done."
