Helicopter Helichapter

A Sick Game Called 'Love'

All she could see was darkness, she attributed it to the piece of fabric wrapped tightly around her eyes. She tried removing the article only to find her hands bound to the surface she was laying on. Her legs were in a similar state, a dreadful familiarity to what had happened the last time she had been kidnapped.

Luna wondered if her mother knew she had an identical twin sister. The thought left a bitter taste in , though why her aunt wanted her forgiveness was beyond her. If they were family, then why would she do this to her.

A door opened somewhere in the room, two sets of footsteps drew closer to her. “Qian, if you’re going to start in the family business then I’d like you to meet my favorite pet.”

The detective’s body broke out into shivers, she couldn’t stop shaking, fear coursing throughout her bloodstream. The blindfold was removed from her eyes, light flooding her vision. When it cleared, she saw Victoria’s eyes looking down at her, on the other side, she saw the man who had imprisoned her for months. Now she knew why Victoria’s eyes looked so familiar, they were the same as his.

“D-dad, w-what’s happening?” Victoria was frozen in place, the fear in her girlfriend’s eyes was unlike anything she had ever seen before.

“Qian, try this one out.” He produced a syringe, handing it over Luna’s body.

The waitress took it, unsure of what she was supposed to do with it. “Just stick it in her arm and administer the drug.”

“No! I’m not doing it.” Victoria shoved it back at him, a sick grin on his mug. He produced a gun from his pocket, pointing it at Luna.

“You will do it, or I kill her.” Tears streamed down both women’s faces.

“Or how about I kill you.” Ana appeared from the shadows, Luna’s eyes widening in recognition of the voice.

“Or maybe even I kill you.” Minho appeared from another corner.

“Hey, you never know, my trigger finger has been really twitchy lately.” Nana appeared from yet another corner.

The mob boss backed up raising his hands above his head and dropping the gun. “It’s like a big family reunion my long lost son and lovely daughter are here along with our honored guests.”

A shot was heard, the man groaning as he fell to the floor, leaning on one side.

“That was for Boa and our parents. He’s all yours Song.” Ana holstered her gun and rushed to unbind the detective, whispering apologies to her as she did so. When the detective was free, the assassin lifted her into her arms, carrying her out of the building and to her car where she drove off to the Mayor’s house.

“Is there anything you want to say before I kill you?” Minho narrowed his eyes, stepping closer to the floored man.

Song Meng Li rolled onto his back, gathering his breath before sitting up to look between his two children. His life flashing before his eyes, the happy times he had with each of them that were clouded with his desire for power. A lone tear fell from his eyes, “Be happy.”

Minho pulled the trigger before he could change his mind, their father lied dead on the floor with a bullet between his eyes. He put his arm around Victoria, holding her while she cried into his shoulder.

“I’ll go get a clean-up crew.” Nana left the two to grieve and make up for lost time.

Minho ran his hands through his sister’s hair, comforting her. When she was ready, she pulled away and touched his face all over. “You changed your face?”

“I had to, no one was supposed to recognize me.” He smiled at her, showing her something that had never changed.

“Who was that woman that looked like Luna’s mom?” Victoria’s mind reeled back to her girlfriend, wanting to know where she was.

“That’s Boa’s twin sister, Luna’s aunt. Luna never knew and Boa only found out very recently.”

“And does Jonghyun know about any of this?”

“He knows that I have a dangerous job, other than that he knows nothing.”

“Why did dad do any of this?”

“I don’t know, we should leave before the cleaners come.” Minho led the waitress out to the car, knowing to drive to her girlfriend’s house without needing to ask.

Hyomin waited patiently in the ICU room Jiyeon would be brought into, she stayed calm by listening to the sergeant’s heartbeat. It was so loud it sounded like it was in the room with her. She knew Jiyeon was alive, that was what mattered to her. She could understand why she would name her daughter after Hyuna, seeing as she wouldn’t be alive had the detective not killed the man that would have killed her.

“Miss Park?” A different nurse approached her, drawing her attention away from her future child.

“How is she?” The smile on the nurse’s face put her at ease.

“She had previously fractured her skull, but there was no brain damage. This time, she further fractured it but luckily her brain is perfectly fine. What I want to know is how she got out of here in the first place?” The nurse narrowed her eyes at the athlete.

“My sister would know, they both came to rescue me and my future sister-in-law.” The weight off of Hyomin’s chest was lifted, now she just had to wait for Gyuri and Sunghee to escape from Siwon, knowing that the two didn’t die in the explosion.

“Right. Well the other nurses will be bringing Jiyeon in, try not to let her escape again.”

The nurse left, leaving Hyomin to shift in her seat as she heard Jiyeon’s heartbeat get louder, closer. She was on her feet when the sergeant was wheeled in, head in a fresh bandage. The room was silent until the nurses left the two alone, Jiyeon avoiding eye contact.

“You kissed me.” Hyomin broke the silence, noticing the change in the woman’s heart rate even without the heart monitor.

“A-and?” Jiyeon swallowed the lump in .

“You like me.” The athlete stepped closer, Jiyeon’s heart speeding up in response.

“A-and?” Jiyeon’s eyes met Hyomin’s grey ones, eyebrows shooting together from the strange color.

“I like you, too.” Hyomin refrained from acting upon her urge to bite the sergeant, not wanting what happened to her sister and Sunghee to happen to her and Jiyeon. So, she smiled as if nothing was wrong.

“A-and?” Jiyeon asked with the brightest smile Hyomin had ever seen.

“When you get out of here, we’re going on a proper date.” And I’m moving in, there’s no way I’m staying with those noise machines anymore.

“O-okay.” Jiyeon blushed, allowing Hyomin to hold her hand, the older leaning down to kiss her.

Ana sped towards the mayor’s house, Luna had fallen back asleep from the remaining sedative in her system. The assassin dreaded seeing the woman, unsure of what her reaction would be.

She took a deep breath, pulling into the driveway, parking and lifting Luna out of her seat. She rang the doorbell, waiting for Boa to answer.

When the door creaked open, Ana could see the woman in tears as she looked at her daughter. She stepped aside and let Ana bring her in, carrying her up to her room and gently laying her down on the bed.

“I’ll just go then.” Ana backpedaled from the bed, looking at the floor, her eyes shooting up when a hand gripped her wrist.

“Please,” Boa clenched her tighter, “Please don’t leave me.”

“Never.” Her wrist was let go, arms wrapping around Boa’s waist. A loud banging was heard at the door, Ana detached her arms from around the woman, taking her gun out of its thigh holster. “Stay here.”

Boa nodded, sat down at Luna’s bedside, and ran her hand through the sleeping detective’s hair. The knocking continued as Ana made her way to the door, peeking through the peephole to see the captain, Sunghee barely awake on her back, arms slung around Gyuri’s shoulders. The assassin holstered her weapon and opened the door, letting the two inside quickly.

“Boa is with Sunyoung upstairs.” Gyuri turned to the woman, eyebrows together, then returned to normal quickly after. She could smell the mayor on the identical woman, reminding herself to ask Boa about it later.

Gyuri silently carried Sunghee up to one of the spare bedrooms, setting her down on the bed before sprinting to the kitchen to get her some water. She lifted the exhausted woman’s head so she could take a sip from the glass. Sunghee passed out after taking the sip, Gyuri didn’t panic because the woman’s heartbeat was still strong and steady.

“Gyuri, she needs a doctor.” Boa appeared in the doorway, Ana directly behind her.

Rather than answer, Gyuri moved Sunghee’s collar to show the two puncture wounds that she had made, a scab forming over the bite mark. “How would I explain this?”

“Bat attack?” Ana wasn’t even fazed by the glare Gyuri sent her way though she did stumble from the gentle elbow to her stomach.

“There’s a nurse there, Lizzy, everything seems to fly over her head. She could help, I’ll make the call to get her up here. I’ll tell her to bring a transfusion kit.” Boa left to make the phone call, Ana stayed behind and had a glare match with Gyuri.

The vampire had her forearm around in an instant. “I don’t know who you are but if you hurt my family then I hurt you. And just so we’re clear, Boa and Sunyoung are family.”

“I love them as much as you do.” Gyuri released the woman who then rubbed at , fighting back the urge to cough.

“Now that that’s out of the way, what exactly is your relation to Boa?” Gyuri’s eyes were narrowed at the assassin.

“Twins separated at birth.” A quick and formulated response.

“That’s not what I was asking.” Gyuri’s eyes turned into slits, eyes lighting up from their normal grey.

“She should be the one to tell you.” Ana could see the change in eye color, finding it best to delay the conversation.

Boa reappeared after the silence befell the two. “She’ll be here soon.”

“Are you two together?” Gyuri was quick to act, catching Boa off-guard, her words coming out in a jumbled mess. “I’ll take that as a ‘yes’,” the captain turned to Ana, “What I said still stands.”

Ana nodded while Boa looked back and forth between the two, eyes narrowed in skepticism. After a few moments, she realized that Gyuri hadn’t exactly disapproved of her relationship. Her arms were around the captain in an instant, whispering a ‘thank you’ loud enough for the vampire to hear but not loud enough for Ana.

“Mom? Captain? Mom two? What’s happening?” Luna leaned against the wall as she approached the three, having heard Gyuri’s question and self-answer.

Boa detached herself from Gyuri and latched herself onto Luna, tears in her eyes as she hugged her very much alive daughter. Luna stared at Ana, eyes slowly widening in recognition, she pulled herself out of Boa’s hold. “You, you did this to me. You kidnapped me and gave me to him. You need to get out of here before I shoot you.”

“She’s not going anywhere and you watch your mouth Sunyoung.” Boa spoke before anyone could comprehend the threat.

“Mom! She was the last thing I saw before waking up in that chair!” Luna was still recovering from the tranquilizer so she held onto her mother instead of storming to the assassin to turn her threat into action.

“Ana had a reason, as much as I don’t like it either. She’s going to tell me everything, later in private.” Boa turned her gaze over her shoulder, receiving a nod in response.

Ana was saved from any further guilt by the ring of the doorbell. She excused herself to let the nurse in, rushing downstairs. Lizzy seemed frazzled to the assassin.

“You’re lucky my girlfriend cancelled our plans, saying something about cleanup at work.” Lizzy brushed past the twin, going upstairs to find Boa, she wasn’t even fazed by the twins.

“Wait, is your name Park Lizzy?” Ana asked from behind the nurse, only then did she notice that there were two different mayors, a similar reaction was had.

“Y-yes, why?” Lizzy assumed the one who had asked her was not Boa but the twin.

“Agent Im would not shut up about you on the way to get Luna out of the uh…place she was.” Ana stopped herself before revealing confidential information.

“Really?” Lizzy was surprised, the assassin nodded, “Wow, okay. So why am I here?”

Gyuri took the chance to drag the nurse into the bedroom, shoving her inside before closing the door behind her. “Since you don’t really care that Boa has a twin, I’m a vampire.”

As expected, Lizzy didn’t even bat an eyelash. “So what’s wrong with her?” She pointed at the pale Sunghee lying on the bed.

“I drained too much out of her, did you bring what Boa asked?” Gyuri proceeded to her torn up and bloody shirt, leaving her in a tank top that was torn in the back and drenched in blood.

“Yeah, but you look like you lost a lot of blood. And if she’s human and you’re a vampire wouldn’t mixing blood be bad?” Lizzy set up the various tubes needed for the procedure.

“No one else here has her blood type and we can’t go to a hospital for obvious reasons. Please, I can’t live without her.” Gyuri pleaded, her bright blue eyes blazing as she looked briefly at Lizzy then to the feverish woman on the bed.

Lizzy found a chair in the room and brought it next to Sunghee, motioning for Gyuri to take a seat. She tied a tight piece of rubber to both of their arms, easily finding a vein in both of them. She tweaked the tube connecting them to take blood from Gyuri and send it to Sunghee.

“And to think I just wanted to be a pediatrician.” Lizzy marveled, reflecting on the most recent events. She had a feeling deep down, knowing that the vampire would be going straight to her for medical help even if she was a children’s doctor.

Color had begun to return to Sunghee, her fever had ceased and the pained expression was gone. Gyuri used her free hand to tuck damp strands of hair behind her ear, gently caressing her cheek, a smile forming when she saw the tug of muscles around the woman’s lips that settled into a small smile.

“She’ll be okay, Captain, she’ll be okay.” Lizzy reassured her.
