In the next week, she was surprised when Luhan came over to her, asking her to be his Korean tutor for at least two weeks. It was shocking since, IU never really thought of anything he could use it for. In the end, she agreed, it interests her anyway, and at the back of her mind, it might at least make up for the way she rejected him. Every after school she’d spent her time inside Luhan’s home, teaching him basic Korean and a bit of Hangul. In exchange, he remained serious, barely touching the woman, as they face each other every night, trying to study Jieun’s native tongue. Sometimes, Prince 4 would come and everyone would be enjoying and very much into it.

When the last Saturday came, Jieun was sitting cross-legged on Luhan’s bed, when he came back with food in hand. “Thought we could use some break,” he smiled as he hand her a bag of chips. That day, the other three didn’t come, Yixing briefly dropped by earlier, and went out when his parents called him over.

“Thanks,” she said as she started munching on the Lays. “So… would you ever really going to tell me why you wanted to learn Korean?”

Luhan laughed, with his eye wrinkles, IU couldn’t help but tell herself how adorable he was. But she arched her eyebrows in interest as she waited for him to speak. “I told you before, I’m a linguaphile, so that’s pretty much self-explainable,” he answered as he chugged down his Coke.

She scoffed, “Tch, so what languages have you already learned huh?”

“As of now, English and Korean,” he answered. “Stop being so nosy Jieun,” he said in perfect English.

She snorted back at him, “Show-off!”

“IU,” he called her name. Ever since things became better, Jieun noticed how he started calling her by her nickname again. It’s not something she despises, but it’s just a change she needed to adjust to again. “Are you busy tomorrow?”

She shook her head. “Why?”

“Just so, please Jieun…” he plead, his eyes doubling its size as he cutely tried to get his own way. It was working anyways, he knew her weakness, and with the fluttering of his eyelashes, he knew it was game over. Hiding his thoughts, he acted innocently. “Please so I could make it up to you.”

She flushed red, and gazed down, protecting herself from the puppy dog eyes of Luhan. “I thought we were already over that. You don’t need to make up about anything.”

“Aniyo,” he pouted and held her arm. “Please IU, please…” he begged, and this time, he unloaded the biggest weapon he had… his doe eyes. He batted his eyelashes, jutting his lower lips as he waited for her to fall into his trap.

“Aish, fine! Tomorrow then,” she grunted dejectedly as she watched him jumped up and down at her decision. She couldn’t help but smile at his child-like personality. “Aigoo Luhan,” she thought of mentally. Now this, I surely miss.

“C’mon you need to ride this,” IU persuaded her date as she pulled him into a line. In that fateful afternoon, IU discovered something she never even expected. Luhan was afraid of heights. Sunday came, and quickly IU begged him to go to the amusement park. He clearly disagreed with the idea, but seeing how eager she was being, the man couldn’t help but give in into her request.

He groaned as he let himself be dragged to the rollercoaster line. He cringed as he felt the intimidation. Roller coasters were like fire-breathing dragons that he’d much rather want to avoid.

“Stop being such a scaredy cat Luhan,” IU stuck her tongue out as they moved closer and closer to the entrance.

“YAH! If I die, it’ll be totally your fault IU!” He yelped angrily at the woman who was snickering at his useless rant.

She chuckled. “Yah yah, and I’m giving you my permission to haunt me for the rest of my life,” she joked as they both get on their sit. While Jieun as clearly excited, she sensed Luhan’s fear was getting worse, that she felt guilty of even asking him. She moved her hand into his sweaty palms. “Hey,” she smiled so soothingly that for a while, Luhan forgot his fear. His heart beat fast. A reaction that needs to be change. “Just hold my hand, okay? I won’t let go,” she smiled her easy smile.
