*Present* (Half of you will have probably forgotten the fact that this whole story is Min Ji’s big flashback :P)

The noise of the door buzzer made you snap back to reality. Hurriedly, you wiped away the tears that had managed to squeeze out while reading. You stared at your clock and smiled, it was already 5 in the morning.

You sniffled and stood up, creeping past Min Young’s room, you entered into the living room, and was greeted by a person’s back.

Staring at Kikwang’s back, you couldn’t help but feel loved. Though both of you were still very young, Kikwang still tried his best to be a good father, he worked tiredly day and night to support his family, while you stayed home and watched over Min Ji. His fatherly back shook your heart.

Thinking about the past, you ran and hugged his back.

Kikwang was startled by your sudden action, but soon replaced it with a soft smile when he felt your soft hands, “Hey,” he whispered gently, “You’re not asleep yet?”

You shook your head and he chuckled, “What’s wrong? Mad at me?”

You shook your head again, “Nope…”

He let go of your arm and turned to face you, “I’m sorry I’m late, where’s Min Young?”

You smiled, “She was waiting for you, but fell asleep.”

He chuckled, “Waiting for me?”

“Yes,” you nodded, “She wanted to go buy a diary.”

He blinked at you, “Diary?” You nodded. He noticed your red eyes and grew worried, “Were you crying?!”

You sniffled and shook your head, “No- I was just cutting onions before…”

Kikwang stepped back and stared at you with amused eyes, “Cooking at 5 in the morning?”

You bit your lip, *Caught.*

He let out a laugh and wrapped his hands around your waist, pulling you close, “Come on, tell me, what happened?”

“Min Young found my diary… today,” you started.

“Diary?” Kikwang asked, “What’s with you two and diaries today?”

You laughed, “I don’t know, Min Ji found my diary. So she started wanting one for herself, and I told her when you come back we’d go buy it together…” 

He blinked at you, “So why were you crying again?”

“I read through it… There were things in there…” You pouted.

Kikwang sighed and hugged you, he swayed you gently from side to side, “Aigoo… So my wifey is crying because of the past?”

“No,” you chided, “I’m crying because of how mean my stupid husband was in the past.”

Kikwang softened, he knew you had gone through a lot these past few years, “Aww baby…”

As he leaned in to give you an Eskimo kiss, you giggled and backed away, “Hmm… Let’s see what was in that diary…”

Kikwang gulped, “Anything… Embarrassing? I was a loser back then…”

“Hmm…” You tapped your chin, “No! You can’t go outside! I don’t want people to see my wife’s beautiful belly and future child! No! You have to eat or else my baby won’t grow! Honey, how is it that you’re so beautiful when I’m so ugly? Min Ji-ah, I miss you! Even though, even though I saw you 15 minutes ago. Argh I don’t wanna change her nappy! Why does Min Young poop so much? When will she stop crying!?” You started teasing him about all the things he said after you guys got back together.

Kikwang cringed at how stupid he sounded just 3 years ago and pouted, “Hey, I said all those things for your wellbeing…”

You crossed your arm and gave him a look, “You call waking me up at 4 in the morning to take care of Min Young when she was crying ‘taking care of my wellbeing’?”

“Hey,” he defended himself, “I was tired…”

“And I wasn’t?” You asked, bewildered.

Kikwang grinned and pulled you onto the couch. You fell on first and he laid on top of you, “Come on Yeobo, that was the past… We need to learn and move on!”

“Psh,” you rolled your eyes.

He smiled, *Still an immature baby.* “Clinging onto the bad memories will only make you sad again. Didn’t we say at the wedding that that was the end of our chapter 1? We said to start chapter 2 with Min Young didn’t we? How are you going to move to chapter 3 if you keep clinging onto chapter 1?”

You blinked at him, “What chapter 3?”

Kikwang you a smirk and leaned in, “Let’s make Min Young number 2…”

Smiling, your lip touched his and once again, you were sent to heaven. Though it’s been years, Kikwang’s kissed still felt new and lively. Though the two of you had kissed many times, you never got bored of it.

Just as Kikwang was reaching for you thin white shirt, a tiny figured stepped out from her room, “Umma? Appa?”

You and Kikwang immediately broke away from the kiss and blinked at each other, “Damn.” You could hear Kikwang curse as he sat up and walked over to your precious little princess.

“Hey baby,” Kikwang smiled and picked Min Young up.

She giggled and wrapped her arms around his neck, “Appa! You’re home!”

Kikwang softened once again for his little miss sunshine, “Ahuh, did you miss appa?”

“Yes!”

“How much?”

“Thiiiis much!” Min Young exaggerated and used her arms to draw a big circle.

“Woah,” Kikwang faked a gasp, “That much?”

“Mhm!” She beamed cutely.

“Aww come here you little pumpkin!” He roared and started ticking her belly, while she let out bubbly giggles and squirmed around.

You stared at the scene in front of you and couldn’t help but smile. Even though you were young, having a family like this was still more than enough. You thought about the past and sighed happily. Right after the two of you got back together, Kikwang went to your place and asked to marry you. Though you parents were quite shocked, Kikwang still managed to earn their trust. The two of you moved out into a small but warm apartment and raised Min Young together. Kikwang did his best to work while studying at University, you left Min Young in your mother’s care and went out working.

Recently, Kikwang had just graduated from University and was now working at a big company, since he had a lot of talent; they promoted him to VP director.  And that meant that his salary was more than enough to support the whole family, and you were now able to stay at home and take full care of Min Young.

In case any of you were wondering what happened to the other characters, here’s a quick summary:

Love Birds Soo Mi and Hyunseung: Ordered to become Min Young’s godparents. Soo Mi is currently still in university, while Hyunseung is starting to enjoy working as his company’s successor.

Dongwoon: Came back from America last year, he is now a doctor.

Junhyung and Doojoon: The two losers ended up dropping out of University and now own a ramyun shop together.

Yoseob: Has finished University and has now become a rookie solo singer.

Yuri: Apparently, this girl was all talk. When she found out that you and Kikwang had gotten back together, she was mad but never ended up doing anything.

Nichkhun: He is now a teacher, teaching maths. You and him still keep in contact, very close contact in fact. He is now dating a colleague called Victoria.

“Appa? Umma?” Min Young asked as Kikwang stopped tickling her.

“Yes?” You and Kikwang looked at her with a big smile. You stood up and walked up to the two of them, maybe getting stuck in the past isn’t so bad afterall.

The innocent girl blinked at you two sweetly before asking her question,

“What were you guys doing on the couch before?”
